The composition and arrangement is really well done, can't believe you wrote this in single day! The reverbs and echo on the flute is a bit too much I think, but other than that it is an amazingly written piece!

Not bad for a first jam! You should try playing around with reverbs and compressions to really bring out the potential of each of the instruments, and then maybe try adding some simple dynamics (like fade in/out).
Keep up the good work!
Unrelated but, Coffee Shop Monstera is a wild name for a bass lol
The bass is probably my favorite part of the track, really like the growly texture. The pads LFO panning around are simple yet very effective at creating width and depth, I think I'll try it on my future projects haha.
Awesome work buddy!
Mind if I ask the meaning of the track's title? I think it's a Hawaiian language but I'm not sure haha
Simple but it really gets the job done on setting the atmosphere. That was mesmerizing to listen the whole way through.
I think the waves and giggling sound effects can be lowered down a bit, and maybe with a bit more reverb so it will sit better in the mix. Or you can automate the gain/volume so that they get louder in certain part of the tracks and then softer in other, letting the piano and other instruments to shine through to create an "ebb and flow" feel .
But this is just my opinion haha. Great job overall! Looking forward to hearing your future projects!
Amazingly welldone! After listening to your previous submissions, I can truly say that this is your Masterpiece! The chilling sounds really sets the horror atmosphere.
If you don't mind me asking, what vst you used for the growling sound around 2:45-3:25 ? sounds like a very distorted electric guitar/bass. I really liked the texture, reminds me of the "DOOM" game.
Hopefully you get a nice rest after this. Take good care of your health brother!
Thanks for the feedback!
I agree, I think a lot if the stereotypical Middle Eastern has really buried itself deep within our subconscious. It makes me wants to compose and arrange in a certain way that "sounded correct" as you put it but may not be objectively correct. I guess our biases will always drag us into a certain stereotype when composing a music that we don't have a lot of real experience in haha, and the only way forward is to expose ourself more to the real things.
With the amount of submissions in this jam, I think you will be writing essays for the rest of the week haha. Godspeed brother!
No need to feel pressurized to add a lot of instruments, as in my experience, adding instruments "just because" will tend to just muddy the arrangement. In this ambience jam, I think your minimalistic approach really makes the track shines through.
Regarding the chord hits at 0:29 and reverbs, I found some success using parallel processing for these kinds of situation. Basically you make 2 tracks of the same instrument, set one with no reverb and the other with 100% wet reverb, then you balance the two using the gain/volume mixer. This way you'll have more control over the "main body" of the sound and the reverb as well. Try and see if it works for you.
Great job overall !
Thanks for the feedback! Those are some good recommendations, and I saw that Neoverb has a free demo so I'll probably try and play around with it.
I often had trouble with stereo width management, like which instrument/freqs are better on mono/centered and which are better with wide panning and reverbs. More or less its trial and error for me, but I enjoy the process. I'll get better soon enough haha
Glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback! I was afraid of making things too muddy and overwhelming with how many instruments are playing, so I went with the safe choice of lowering things down haha. Technically I could EQ to balance them, but this is the part where I don't have enough experience and having some trouble with.
Oh I loved Ori! I've played both of the games actually haha
Now that you mentioned it, when I was composing the intro part, it hit me that it sounded quite similar to the intro of the first Ori. After comparing it, I think it is likely because they were both using minor pentatonic that goes up and down repeatedly while being accompanied by soft violins.
Regarding the woodwinds part, I agree that they should be implemented somewhere in the middle of the track. I've tried it but having trouble mixing them with the brass, violins, and piano without sounding too crowded. Maybe I could insert one more "build up" with the woodwinds or maybe I just need to spend more time in the mix haha. Really wish I have more time to polish this piece.
Thanks for the feedback, and glad you enjoyed the piece!
