Being made on GB Studio, and it seems to be your first game. I'm impressed, even tho it is unfinished, I hope to see this becoming a fun game one day, once finished. good job!
here he is a real old school, amazing
Really nice artwork and music choice.
Would have liked the attacks to feel a bit punchier, but still loved the overall aesthetic.
You should definitely continue this post-jam :)
Real retro vibes here! I'm not a fan of jumping and attacking with Z and X, so that was a bit uncomfortable for me, however the game doesn't feel bad at all and it has pretty interesting visuals.
I believe the game offers controller support, but that might be rom only. I've had a lot of people mention accessibility, so I'll make sure to add different button combinations in the future!
Congrats on your first jam game!
Graphics were nice, I liked the palette and sprite-work, reminds me of Castlevania. Though the style is really wanting that third and fourth shades of grey the gameboy had.
Of course, a color version is coming soon/ That's the limitation of first bit unfortunately haha!
This game is great! Very well done, cool soundtrack.
I like the graphics style and the player animation is clean and punchy. Enemies do need more work, as graphically they blend in the background, and there's no hit feedback. I'd like to see a metroidvania out of this. Have you considered continuing work on it for the MVM Jam?
Unfortunately I started production before the MVM Jam, but since I'm technically redoing the assets in color, I'll ask if it's appropriate to submit it.
really well done, especially for a first jam!! loved the art and the animations, the soundtrack is super effective and feels just like a GBC game. nice work!
Great pixel art! I was transported in past, when I was a kid with my GameBoy. Really good vibes.
Hey thanks so much for playing my game, I'm glad it could bring back some nostalgia!
I really like the pixel art and the thumbnail art as well.
Wooooow Pixel art !
Congratulations on your first jam! I read your page so I was expecting the art to look rough since you mentioned the difficulty making it 1-bit but honestly, you killed it. It looks fantastic! Light on the gameplay side but for a first jam, really solid. Nicely done overall!
Very beautiful art!!
Loved the art style the controls were a bit confusing
i love your art :D its amazing bud, gorgeous
Visually, this game is stunning for the game boy. This project definitely has the potential if you continue developing it. Great work!
Amazing Job!! Love the aesthetics and the atmosphere of the game. Really good, fitting music, and ridiculously beautiful art. I really hope to see more from this project in the future.
Hey thanks so much for playing my game, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm super new to pixel art and the limitations of the GBC invited some interesting approaches to the project!
Enjoyed it a lot! Even more impressed if you are new to pixel art, because the game looks beautiful.
I believe that sometimes the tight limitations (either technical, or the ones we impose on ourselves) bring out the best of our creativity, and that's why I love this kind of jams, and retro games in general. Again, excellent submission, and hope to see more of your work in the future!!
I've been practicing for only 2 or so months now, but I've been drawing since I was a child. Actually the 1 bit design elements really helped my art improve a lot, and I'll probably only do black + color from now on, as its a really fun look.
Amazing! Can't wait to see more of your work!
Cool concept! It has a lot of potential I think
Thank you so much for playing my demo, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Good game, liked your art and the small old school screen (NES resolution?)
It's a gameboy color game, meaning if you were to flash it to a gbc cart, you could play it on the real hard ware. Native it's 160 by 144, but I doubled it for the embed! Thanks, it means a lot to me!
cool
