Upgrade the gun all the way! Got to about level 104.

Cute little game! With upgrades the gun does get overpowered but I also did a run only powering up the sword and it was quite satisfying to use. I did notice 2 bugs. First, I believe the little minions that the boss spawns don’t freeze during the upgrade screen. Second, I tried upgrading Knockback but it seemed to just upgrade one of my weapons instead. Aside from that, I really loved the pixel animation smears and the variety of robo enemies.

Thanks for letting me know. You're a better playtester than anyone I had at my disposal.

This game was fun. I liked the challenge it provided. However, the frequent upgrades threw me off. Other than that, it was a solid game. Thank you.

Cool way to design a beat em up game. I like how I have a lot of choice in my upgrades, though it did feel like upgrades popped up too often and broke the flow of the game. Still, I had fun and it was a neat idea to check out.

Cool beat-em-up! The progression system was pretty fun, and I liked being able to mow down enemies. The main hangup I had was with the balancing, as I found that bombs were pretty much all I was using after reaching a certain level. Still made me feel powerful, though! This was a fun game; good work!

Good take. I felt this was halfway of a beat em up and shumps. The difficulty curve was nice and the gameplay progression felt good but I would take a look at the powerups as I was incentivized to only upgrade my gun wich was so immensely powerful respect to the other.

A fun game reminiscent of old Newgrounds flash or Miniclip. True indie spirit! I got a high score of 89,700 with 110 kills.

Fun game! The robots are very cute and I like their little animations. The upgrade system feels really rewarding. I felt like I could keep destroying the same enemies over and over again just to keep getting those rewards.

Nice work!!!

I died at level 100 so i nearly made it but this game was very good the sound effects were great and it was quite satisfying killing enemies, only problems were a few balancing ones like the bombs being super op and i only leveled up my gun so later on the sword and shield did nothing in comparison. Really fun game good job!

Great work on this! I wish the sword and shield modes had more usefulness- unfortunately the gun is simply way more powerful; with only a couple of upgrades, you can pretty much just walk forward and not worry. Also, the bombs are very very powerful - I wonder if enemies killed by bombs should not be able to drop bombs as this made it a perfectly viable strategy to just bomb constantly and pick up new ones as enemies are killed by it.

Nevertheless, a fun sidescroller!

That's a good  balancing idea. Originally the bomb countdown was actually 3 seconds and getting hit would reset it, but that proved to make the bomb pretty cumbersome to use. (Getting hit still resets it but I doubt anyone's noticed.)

I love the upgrade system, I think it hits the progression curve really well

Nice game! Impressive that you implemented an upgrade system, really solid little game loop. I also really liked the difficulty ramp, it gets pretty chaotic after a while! Solid work.

pretty fun stuff here, nice use of the theme also!

It got pretty hectic the more I play lol, it was fun. I really like the explosion sound, something about that made it really satisfying to kill a big group.

Hey! I honestly had a great time playing this, the bomb felt especially satsfying and there is something so endearing about the visuals and music, I don't know how to explain it really but it just made me smile instantly.

Great work! It is a super charming little game :D!

Wow this game really tickled my brain in a rare way (and I normally don't like to use that expression).

Something about the mix of graphics and audio and even gameplay is sublime and packed with nostalgia. The ending song in particular feels otherworldly yet nostalgic in a really satisfying way. After writing this I went back died on purpose just to hear it again. Thanks for making this.

Thank you for playing it. I made all of the songs and sfx in here on BeepBox.

Here's the link to the ending song if your curious.

Managed to fight the Hermantis! Was fun to play and controls were easy to grasp.  In the end, was mostly relying on the bomb as i always had a surplus.  Well done!

This was a fun beat 'em up! I really enjoyed upgrading the sword and maxing it out. The bombs were powerful and fun to use as well. Great work!

111300 was my score woooo! I think the game had good pacing, just when I was thinking it was too easy the hard enemies came and make me focus harder. My only real feedback was that the special moves felt hard to use with the count down and all, so maybe having them activate instantly. My favorite weapon was the sword :)

I like how the combat felt and how you had to think about what weapon to use. How to play wzas also very well explained :)
