I liked the idea of delivering pizzas and being chased down by enemies. My favorite part was being able to turn enemies into flying cars! Real talk: Where can I get the Big Mo's uniform? Good luck!
Interesting take. I like how you can switch the modes of the people that try to steal your pizza. Sometimes however the buildings would be in front of the mode options for someone that I was shooting at. And I was sometimes also not sure where the arrow was pointing at. But nonetheless good job!
Interesting and funny gameplay concept! Was hilarious shooting ppl to the moon with the big+gravity bug. I was kind of confused what the arrow is pointing to though, it just kept on trying to guide me off map.
This game was pretty funny, loved turning people into cars and watching them float away. Good job!
I love isometric games like this, and the "gun" mode made me feel like this game could be a 2D garry's mod with more fun modes. I had fun, good job
I love the design but when ı choose double jump ı guess ı broke the game. My character went to space. At some points ı can't see the ui buttons. If you can change the UI layer or canvas priority it would be better.
Cool concept you got here. i was running and some guy just knocked me over. i go back to pick up my pizza and im running around vibing to the music and i press Q and i turn some guy into a car lol. funny and very very orignal! good job!
I love that you leveraged the verticality of the isometric 2d jump to also give the player the gravity attack. I want to echo what the other players have said, that this is a fantastic proof of concept. The presentation is really nice too, having the fading environmental elements gives a lot of depth. The weakest point of the presentation is probably the font, just because it doesn't fall in line with everything else (white on light grey/white at the beginning means the player's attention isn't called to that text.)
Basically, there's a moment where the player (me!) goes "THIS IS WHAT THE GUN DOES!? WOW" and I think there's a version of this game where that feeling gets fully exploited to make this an amazing experience.
I think the customer spawned in a wall every time I refreshed, though. :(
Love that Tatsey Isometric look, the game is just the cherry on top.
I really like the isometric style of this game. The concept of changing the modes also feels really well done and changing the enemies is also a great concept. Good Job!
if you feel like it please rate my game as well https://itch.io/jam/bigmode-2023/rate/2424386
Nice and fun concept! I'd love to hear more about what you mentioned about into a roguelite. Adding some more complexity and utility of the different modes would be cool!
What I thought could be cool is having the gun use the different modes at random so that the player has to adapt to the "gun's choice". Every mode could also have a disadvantage, like the car could make the enemy faster but has to respect the direction and flow of the roads or something like that.
The point is, if it got me thinking this hard it's because it's a nice idea and proof of concept, congrats to all of you!!
"Then he turned his enemies into cars, funniest thing I've ever seen!" Turning your enemies into cars to beat them is indeed quite humorous, and original aswell.
Besides that, being forced to go back and retrieve a new pizza each time you get hit and lose it became frustrating after a while, and during my first run before the freeze, I couldn't find the first customer at all.
But with some kind of reward system besides an increase of the "Pizza Delivered" counter, and a few more "enemy mutations", this would surely make an addicting gameplay loop!
This is so funny, I love freezing time and turning people into cards and making them fall over, just made me laugh. Also the way the music slows down when you pull out the gun is so funny, would have been even better if you made him sweat furiously and jitter.
Took me a bit to read the text but I figured it out eventually haha.
Really cool and unique concept! I liked the ability to defeat enemies not by killing them but rather by changing their mode to be harmless to you. I did run into a bit of UI trouble with some enemies being difficult to highlight when multiple were on screen and my run ended when the person who I was supposed to deliver the pizza to spawned inside a building. I tried to use various modes on myself or the enemies around me but I couldn't find a way inside. Still this is probably one of the more unique entries I've seen today! Well done.
