Yo great work here! The humor, the animations, the boss variety, it's awesome. The makeshift ammo combination was a really cool detail as well.

That was really cool to play from start to finish! Designs and controls were really smart, and the lines and humor were great. I love that each boss had his own personnality, fitting their style, it really felt alive (especially that last boss slaming his desk and pointing orders, really nicely designed).

Most makeshift bullets were a good surprise, altho I didn't really get which item did what when combined, maybe partly because of the size of the items dropped (or mabe the shy yellow color) which made them harldy readable, especially when too far.
It also felt a bit hard to read the perspective to avoid bullets, but you kinda get used to it after some time, except for the last part of the final boss, which is a bit too crazy (I know something about having a crazy last boss ;) but it feels good and necessary), and after a few retries I ended up running in circles and (s)praying.
Amazing work, and really nice entry!

Super fantastic animation, the style is instantly charming and made me want to explore more of the game. Would love to see more games from yall!

Great game! Loved everything about it. Did notice that occasionally bosses would be just off screen on the bottom left or right. Maybe some cursor icon for the player would also help them know where exactly they are aiming at (not a big deal since it was still very easy to do)

Thanks! We had a last minute fix addressing bosses moving off screen, so at least in current build bosses move off screen LESS than before :)

As for the player aiming- if you are playing on mouse and keyboard characters aims at cursor, and on controller he aims his hand in the general direction. Since player is firing rapidly all the time and the bullets are visible, aim correcting can be still done easily.

Your game has so much personality in it! The bosses were fun and well designed. I loved the animations.

I did have trouble distinguishing what items I was picking up and what powers they would give me, but I personally felt the surprise of it made it a lot of fun. Good stuff!

Thanks! At first we wanted to make it more clear (like color-code items that gives you certain effect), but during playtesting we discovered, that in a fast paced game this takes away from the fun (because instead of hitting the boss with whatever you have, you are hunting for a specific item), so we introduced even more randomness! Since there is a correlation between ammo count and certain effects you never get stuck with very weak, or very strong gun for too long.

Great game overall, congrats! Only issue I have is the perspective when fighting the CEO of crime. It was hard to see which bullets would hit you.

Thanks! I think in CEO fight it's the number of bullets that makes all the confusion (you are not the first person to point it out). The Bath Man has the exact same bullets, and people generally don't have trouble dodging those. We decided to make the CEO more "bullet-helly" (since he doesn't move anyway), and in the last phase it gets a bit hectic. He's the last boss though, so we decided hectic is appropriate :)

It took me a moment to get the controls, especially the part about it being a twin-shooter and how to aim properly.

I really liked how hitting the enemy a few times and collecting the items would give you the real ammo.

Sometimes it was a bit difficult to grab the drops, though... Might be something about the perspective...

love the comic art style. 10/10 name, 10/10 humor. there were so many bullets on screen for the final boss that I just stopped trying to dodge and left it up to luck, but that was fun in itself.

I like you noticed the name. It's my second jam, and I think, I decided my jam entries are better with long titles.

If you're wondering- my previous jam game was called "While you sleep I hunt ghosts with the pope's revolver"

the art side is really nice, it reminds me of comics, the assembly with 3d makes it interesting.

As for the duck, believe me or not,  it went through several iterations and was surprisingly difficult balance. I thought about cutting it altogether at one point, but animation was simply too good to cut).  I think currently it hits the sweet spot, not being too annoying, and not being just a decoration.

Also there is a method in my code called "DisableDuck()" because in current state the duck  can't be stopped simply by disabling the script.

I love the artstyle, it makes me think back to playing playing old flash games on the school computer. Definitely fun and the story is one to get invested into. Only nitpick I have was the music was a little too quiet, I didn't notice there was music until I turned my volume way up -- other than that, really fun!

quick bug mention, if you beat a boss and a moment later then take damage to the point you die, you get a restart that overrides the win button

Fun little game! This really caught my eye in the #showcase in the discord so been really looking forward to play it.

I think the only thing I want to say is that some of the bosses are really hard in terms of readability. I don't know if this is just for the web version but some bosses can move out of the player's view. For the 2nd boss, the player is the one that can get quite lost, because the boss is so big and covers it. It'd be great if there's some sort of silohuette that shows up if the player is behind the boss.

Apart from that it's a fun game! Really love how fun looking the 'potato finger looking guy' is

Yeah, the Web version is a bit undertested (right now the main menu looks janky if not displayed in full screen). For teleporting bosses some (albeit- very few) possible teleportation positions can fall too close to the camera. I'll try to fix those issues before the end.

As for the second boss- tanks for rising this! Personally I didn't see it as an issue, because both the player and to boss move around a lot during this fight, and even if the player is covered for a moment he usually soon moves to a visible position. The silhouette that's visible is a great idea, but seems like a bigger fix (or at least longer to test out proper), and TBH I don't know if I'll have the time right now (personal stuff- that's why I'm uploading early :))

We made a very similar game! , from the gathering resources to build weapons and the concept of being on a job and defeating your bosses, Regardless...

I really like that rough 2d traditionally animated aesthetic, fun gameplay and cool music.
The boss battles are fun, especially the magician, The last boss gets super unfair at the end, I was not able to defeat him, and I took like 10 tries.

Cool detail that the BOSS doesn't attack you, but orders people to attack you from him, the only complain I got is that your attacks are restricted to 8 directions.

My hints in final boss fight: Stick to the bottom of the screen, try not to get hit in the first part of the battle, try to come up only to gather parts, dodge in sort-of circular pattern. If everything else fails, you can enable easy mode in main menu :)
