Game's Take on the Theme
In terms of gameplay, the enemies' projectiles have been given a spinning effect, and players also need to maneuver around obstacles and enemies on the map. The theme of "weaving" is also reflected in the storyline.
Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
Half of the art was completed by me, including the boss art design and animation.

If it is your first game, it is very good. I remember when I made my first game it was really garbage hahaha.
Good graphics and gameplay. The interface is a bit big but you get used to it in the end. Please consider playing my game (Rate For Rate)
Good entry GG.
Really cool game. I agree with everyones feedback, UI is a little too big. But for a first game with no background in dev and art, this is a really good first time. And I'm happy to see new people coming to Godot. Keep growing, enter othe game jams. This one was my third, you can see my progression by playing my other 2 games
Godot is a very charming engine! It’s very beginner-friendly, and the coding difficulty isn’t too high. I really appreciate your encouragement and recognition. I played your three games and definitely saw a huge improvement, haha! Your latest game is really fun—the battle with the washing machine is such a creative idea! I’ll keep working hard with Godot to create more fun and exciting games in the future! Let’s do our best together! 💪🎮✨
Cool one ! Deserve more rates at all.
Thank you for playing and for your encouragement!
I like the minimalistic visuals, I would recommend make everything a little bigger but thats maybe only my personal liking, the mechanics are good and overal the game feels fine. I rate fun graphics and music the most, but all is cool, also if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!!
Thank you for playing and giving feedback! The visual performance issues will be improved after the jam ends! I'm going to play your game now, haha!
Cute game! bit simple but the art is great!
it seems this is your first project, i always recomend watching Sakurai`s channel, its a tresure trove of good information
Thank you for playing my game! I'm really happy to receive your encouragement. The tutorial you recommended was very helpful, and I will continue learning from Sakurai's channel in the future!
This is a cool little game, and congrats on your first project! You’re doing great for starting small and already experimenting with different things. I started messing around with Godot about a year ago, and just now I'm doing my first jam, and I haven’t even tried making dialogue yet haha. Before you know it, you’ll start getting a better sense of how things work and how to make them. Good luck on your journey, good job!
I’m really happy to receive your encouragement! This development has definitely been a challenge for me. I encountered many difficulties during the process, but I’m glad I persevered until the end. From not knowing anything about coding at the beginning, to now being able to understand some of the code logic and Godot’s node management by watching tutorials, it’s truly been a wonderful experience. I’ll continue to work harder on the development moving forward!
Regarding the dialogue system you mentioned, this time I used the Dialogic plugin. This plugin not only provides UI templates for dialogue systems but also allows you to directly trigger the dialogue box through signal connections in the code. It feels like it's sufficient for handling simple dialogues! Here's the link →https://github.com/dialogic-godot/dialogic
I hope this helps you! As a fellow Godot beginner, let's keep pushing forward together!
So Im going to focus on giving you some feedback regarding gameplay and where to expand. Starting with the User Interface, you should reduce the size of the player's health and maybe put it on the top left corner, alongside other information regarding the player. You can also stylize this eventually, instead of a meter maybe crosses or hearts and so on.
Now for gameplay, you could really do well with making the mouse affect the camera, lets say I point towards a direction, our camera should shift a little bit towards that direction. A quick tutorial I found might not be up to date: Youtube Link, Another Link
This way we allow the user to track the boss and helps with navigation of the obstacles. If this is too difficult, you could make do with making the screen bigger to help with our sight.
This changes let us open up a new door (might not be your exact image but...) Think of bullet hells, since you mentioned the theme of weaving around obstacles and enemies, you can make use of bullet hells patterns to make the player use the surroundings to avoid bullets and maybe also punish the player by predicting this and making the boss do a certain action and so on. Bullet Hell Generator for Godot
Hopefully with this you start to see how you can apply some of these things to improve your game, I understand its your first time with no large prior knowledge so good job on the first hurdle! Things can only go up from here.
Also I did like the art you did, with the cute lil nun, I think if you follow that style and with your boss art design you could make a pretty cute and good game in the future. Its a matter of consistency and learning! You got this!
I love the Nun!
Thank you for your feedback! I'm really touched to receive such thoughtful and encouraging comments on my first attempt at making a game! Regarding the issue with the health bar, you're right that I haven't optimized the UI well enough. I'll work on improving the display of both the player's health and the boss's health in the next update.
As for the camera... it's true that I wasn't sure how to adjust it on my first try, but the tutorial you provided is really helpful. I'll try to implement some camera movement, and this will definitely be a direction for improvement going forward!
Regarding the bullet hell level design, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the code in the tutorial is actually understandable! This is something I couldn't have imagined a month ago. The bullet-dodging mechanics are really fun, and I originally intended to design obstacles as textures that could be used to dodge boss attacks, but I didn't have enough time to write the code for it. I'll definitely consider this gameplay direction in future designs!
With your encouragement, I truly feel motivated to continue making the game! I'm so glad you like my character, and I really want to finish telling her story! Honestly, typing this out has moved me to tears. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback!
I really missed having a fullscreen mode, and the UI elements felt way too big. Also, most parts had larger collision boxes than their sprites, which made it pretty easy to get stuck on corners.
That said, the prototype is solid — gives off a nice old-school vibe! Hope to see this game evolve further!
Thank you for your feedback! Regarding the fullscreen mode, the ideal gameplay design I’m aiming for is a limited field of view, where the player can still perceive the boss's attack intentions. Since this is my first time making a game, I haven't managed the camera well, and the UI has a lot of shortcomings, which has affected the overall visual presentation.
The collision areas for obstacles were also rushed, which may cause bullets to spawn in hard-to-reach locations. I’ll work on improving this by adjusting the collision ranges. The UI and camera will also be improved! Thank you again for your valuable feedback!
Nevertheless, this is a great result for a first game! Keep it up!
The teacher boss looks great, I’m not good at the game but I had fun trying it :D
Thank you for playing the game! I'm really happy to receive your encouragement!
The game is pretty fun ngl, healthbar prob an optimization issue but not a big problem, loved the game. well done ^^
Thank you for your feedback! I will work on optimizing the UI next! I'm so happy to receive your encouragement! :)
Holy healthbar, try to minimize UI elements on the screen ;)
Thank you for the feedback! I will work on improving the health bar display next :3
lifebar positioning er..is disturbing. and i don't understand how avoid boss hits
Thank you for the feedback! Since this is my first attempt at making a game, I haven't optimized the health bar well enough. I plan to create a more visual and intuitive art style for it next. Regarding the boss's attacks, ideally, they should be avoidable using the obstacles in the map, but my code isn't working properly for that yet. I will work hard to improve the issues you've pointed out :)
