I thought both bosses had great mechanics and were enjoyable. I had the crash issue upon death but understand that could be fixed at a later point and you added the ability to skip cutscenes so wasn't exactly hard to get back into the game. I really enjoyed the snooker boss and having to get the hands to pot to clear up the stage.
Thanks for the feedback! We’re glad you liked it. The crash issue upon death only happened in the web version. Really appreciate it!
I like the visuals overal, the animations are really awesome and all the effects are so fitting, I like the overal concept and mechanics, I had no issues with sounds, but I know you said its unstable version still. I rate graphics, music, fun and control on top but all is cool, also, if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!
Thanks for the feedback! We’re so glad you liked the overall concept! Your comment warmed our hearts. We’ll definitely play your game!
Really well-made game! I think all the bosses are quite fun (the hand boss being my favorite of them)!
(If you're willing to I'd love it if you'd rate and give feedback to my game! :) )
Thank you so much for the feedback! Glad you liked the little hand. We’ll definitely play your game and give you feedback as well!
Man this is some great boss design. Really original and fun. I especially loved the billiard boss; I really like how the balls react when you hit them, bouncing around and all. The joker is pretty tough, I haven’t been able to beat him, but I still think he’s great. And the art 10/10. The boss introductions are really cool, though, as others have mentioned, I think they could be shortened a bit. One of the most fun and original games in this jam. Truly excellent work.
I can’t thank you enough for your feedback! You’re right, the long cutscene was a small slip-up we didn’t fix in time. Once we realized it didn’t really affect the boss fight, we decided to use the rest of our time polishing the game. But once again, I really appreciate the compliments, my friend! :)
Gambling kills... literally! This game is truly underrated. Why i noticd this only by now? Visuals, gameplay and music are fire!
I can only thank you for the compliments haha!
What a fun game with a cool concept. The hand and the joker has to be the coolest boss I've played so far in this jam. One nitpick tho, I thought the boss intros are too long. Didn't even know you can skip them my pressing space. Otherwise Good job.
Thanks a lot for the feedback, my dude! That was definitely a detail we overlooked. We wanted to keep the gameplay solid and the game polished, but this one slipped past us.
I really enjoyed the visuals! Awesome job with the bosses (struggled a lot to beat them lol) and cool spinning mechanic after dying o/
I'm glad you had fun! Our main focus was always to keep the player's attention on the gameplay, making sure they’re constantly moving and engaged.
Once again, thanks for the feedback! :)
Cover art is fire, gameplay is tight and fun
No worries, thanks a lot Maroli! Haha 😄
This game probably has some of the best boss designs I've seen in the entire jam! It's insanely original and done with great taste—just incredible. The visuals, effects, and sound are all top-tier! If I had to nitpick, the game's preview doesn't do justice to its quality—I feel ashamed that I almost overlooked it for so long. Outstanding work!
Thank you so much for the huge compliments haha! I can say the same about yours.
We tried to design the boss fights in a way that keeps the player engaged, making sure that even if you die, you're never truly at a disadvantage. Each death is a chance to improve, letting you develop your own strategy and use whatever comes out of the slot machine to your advantage.
Thanks again for the kind words! :)
I really enjoyed the game, but I didn't beated the Joker. His cards attacks are really hard to dodge... Hands fight was nice, with really good balance. Pixelart on point too !
Thanks a lot, my dude! We definitely went a bit overboard with Joker’s difficulty, but we do plan to balance him for sure.
I think we have the same nationality add me on discord: the same of my username
just loved the game and it was very polish game, it have a lot of little details to add value
I can only say thanks, my friend haha! I'll talk to you soon 🤙
The cover image may not be the most appealing in drawing attention, but the gameplay is certainly something. I see a lot of polish there. Nice game overall.
Thank you so much for playing! You're absolutely right—the cover wasn’t eye-catching at all. I took your advice and we changed it! 🍻
really cute game i loved the pool ball fight, i wish the boss had more moves though.
It may be a bug but the sounds were barely audible even when turning the sfx up.
Hey man, Adam! The first boss was actually supposed to have more attacks, but when we saw we were getting stuck on it for too long, we had to focus on other mechanics like the second boss, cutscenes, the lobby, the slot machine, etc.
The sound bug is real—on some PCs, this happens, and we plan to fix it in the future.
But I just want to say thanks for your feedback and for playing! :)
nice boss fights and casino vibe
Much appreciated my friend :)
I really liked the graphic section and the theme! Fighting billiard balls has been a challenge. Congrats!
Thanks haha! Art and gameplay for fighting bosses were something we tried our best to balance so that one wouldn't have more resources than the other.
Very nice art and theme! The boss battles were very fun too. I really liked the idea os spinning the slot machine when dying.
Thank you so much! I can say the same about Cosmic Rogue, both in its cute art and mechanics, like having more than one moon, etc. But we can only thank you for your feedback 🥂
Very good visuals ! Liked the ambiance. Maybe I didn't find a proper way to damage the hand boss but it was very long to defeat... Also my game stopped to work when I died and try to pull the lever.
Thanks for the compliments, Biboteur! It's a shame your game had those issues... If you played the web version, it's likely a problem with Unity itself or the browser. We replayed the Windows.zip version multiple times, and at least for us, there were no issues. But it's great that you pointed out the difficulty of the hand boss—a future balance adjustment for the bosses could be interesting. We can only thank you for your feedback! It’s worth gold to us 🤜🤛
I know these feedbacks can help, that's why I'm being honest. Keep making games ! And yes for the record I played in the browser.
Joker is quite well designed. A compact boss rush, in that the cards he spawns themselves are minibosses on this macro bossfight
Not a fan of the cuphead school of every upgrade coming with a downgrade, especially on a game of this size.
Balatro collab when
Great take! Joker’s cards acting as minibosses make the fight more dynamic. I get the frustration with upgrades having downsides, but I think it adds strategy. What kind of system would you prefer?
Just simple upgrades to make the battle easier, or that change add a gimmick that changes the gameplay, rather than get A but lose B. I think letting the player break a game with cool features and skills is better than pulling the leash like "hey lets not have too much fun now, okay?", like the game is you vs us, rather than you giving us a toy to go wild with.
On a more serious commercial product I can see how the balancing might be a serious thing to work on, but on smaller jam projects like this, it could be more fun for players and more of a learning experience to you to let it break, if it is to break. Like salt on food, when you put too much its over, but when you put too little you can just add some (in this case, being less restraining is the metaphor)
That’s honestly a great idea! We’d love to work on that on future updates! And thank you for the feedback :D
Very cool! And unusual!!! Good job!
Thank you, we’re happy for the feedback!
Outstanding pixel art, I am really impressed. I really enjoy the game. I need to train to beat the Joker haha
I also needed several attempts to beat the Joker hahaha.
