pretty cool stuff. The mechanic is extremely unique and I like the bosses. If I go too far with w or s it bugs out so a check for that would be nice but overall I liked it a lot!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! If I had more time I would've fixed that bug, for now I just had to leave it in so we could finish our idea!

I'll try to keep this short to not bury your movement explanation comment!

This game is so fascinating to control! It requires some patience to get used to but once you do it's so rewarding! I like how spaced out the boss attacks are. As you play the game, you do have some breathing room to read the screen, formulate a movement plan, and then execute it. Once you do and pull it off, this feels very satisfying, the pacing was just right for that I think! The attacks were very well telegraphed as well, I can tell you put a lot of thought into them.

I echo that previous comment about the orbit display when it gets too large, but I totally get how time constraints might have gotten in the way of that getting fixed. I also kept wondering about the choice to not immediately kill the player if they went out of the screen's boundaries but I see now that it was probably to make sure they had some chance to teleport back to safety

The music was so nice it almost felt like a reward listening to a new track after beating each boss heheh

Thank you so much! That was the aim with each planet's design, and how we intended movement to go! Glad you were able to reach that point and have as much fun playing it as we did!

(PS: My friend made the music a banger! I probably listen to it a few hours just working on the game lol. glad you enjoyed it!)

Interesting concept, but the controls are really tough. I mean the flight trajectory changes — I couldn’t quite figure out the patterns, so I kept crashing into the boss planet. It was really challenging, but also pretty engaging!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I won't lie trying an orbital style movement isn't the easiest for the player. If I could change something I probably would have made the movement more arcade style. Thank you for testing and giving me feedback though!

Hi There! Rated! ;)

Just wow! Interesting mechanics, and nice visual style! Unique concept! Not easy :P

Thank you if you also check and rate my project.

All the best! :)

Insanly hard to handle for me, but after some trys it get more and more interesting as we control the ship velocity. Maybe the cooldown for teleportation should be shorter, but still fair as the global boss difficulty is pretty fair balanced. This is a really expandable idea so far, and I liked the SMB3 music vibe too :)

Developer

Thank you! Movement definitely isn't the easiest thing to get at first. I debated reducing the cooldown for the teleport, but it felt like it might make the game too easy (then again could just be me)?

Quite hard to get into controlling ship but art and music are neat nice game

I appreciate the bold take on the jam with the orbit mechanic, which is unique and refreshing. I am very impressed by the planet designs, which are each unique and fun to look at. There's a excellent charm between the art and music (favorite is probably the ice planet theme) that creates a memorable experience. You guys should be very proud of your accomplishment here.

Developer

Thank you! We wanted to something unique with orbit's rather than giving the player a set path.

Very interesting, I was not expecting to see realistic orbital dynamics, took a while to get a hang of it but it's pretty good overall. Good job!

Thank you!

I really like the whole concept of controlling how your ship orbits around the planets, but I feel like it can be hard to get used to and take advantage of. I found myself mostly just pressing random keys and hoping for the best lol. But still, that's a really unique concept for a game jam and I think it can be built upon and improved a lot!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I tried to follow a realistic orbit style of movement for the player, although in hindsight it doesn't seem very intuitive for the player

I like the idea of orbiting around planets and make it the core element in the way we move and attack, I think the music is quite good but i also like the visuals. Just  i wish there was more time so that you could have made this bigger. Well done! I rated mainly on music and graphics but the whole game is something i like

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Wish I had more time as well but for our first game jam I'm really happy with what we made!

Yes, you have to be proud of your achievment, indeed time limits us a lot in these, it was also my first jam and there are many thing i wish i could have added. Check my game if you have some time and let me know your thoughts, we improve like this

Really nice, relaxing game

The orbit mechanic is really fun and it's used in different ways in the game, only thing that seems to not be working properly is when you try to make the orbit too large it just disappears

Also yes, devs, "Wow this art is good" and "Wow this music is good"

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback! Yea I could have optimized the orbit display a little better to prevent that😅.

Wow this art is good

Wow this music is good
