I really loved the idea so much! Great job with that!
Thank you!!
What a fun play! Like Markiplier said "Space its so beautiful). I myself have loved space my entire life so its good to see someone has found the aspirations to make a game about it and use the theme of spinning in it! I love how you orbit the planets to battle them. My only quarrels with the game is the lack of a tutorial and the controls felt slightly clunky at times. Other than that it was a great submission

Thank you! If I had more time, I definitely would have added a tutorial (which is something I should have prioritized probably due to our realistic approach orbital movement).
great game having potential to become complete game in future release.
Thank you! I do plan on fixing every bug, adding a movement tutorial, polishing, etc, once the jam is over ;)
Cool game!
Good sound and graphics throughout the gameplay, quite an interesting idea of bosses as planets and implementation of movement! Special praise to the ost and sound effects, which were perfect throughout.
Among the minuses, I would highlight the fact that it is not clear what exactly the movement does, that is, it seems to manipulate the axis around which you are spinning, but if you hold it for a couple of seconds, then things will start to happen some strange things, for example, if you hold down the movement so that it decreases, then it will multiply, or, on the contrary, by increasing it you can go beyond the map, well, all this is accompanied by some lags. Most likely this is just a bug, so I can understand you perfectly well
Thank you! Yes, that was a bug, due to the time constraint I never got around to optimizing it and fixing the display, so it looks really funky while moving.
Cool, I just destroyed the sun, but then I game over at the second round T_T haha
The orbit mechanics is really special, I'm a bit confused at first, then I figured it out after reading the description. I liked the space atmosphere and the music, and the teleport mechanics is great too. I think maybe it will be useful if we can change the orbit direction of the ship. Nice works!
Ooh that's a great idea actually! If ever I update this in the future, I'll be sure to add/make it easier to flip orbit direction! Thank you for taking the time to test my game!!
Oh wow, I really like the way you implemented the theme with the realistic orbit. It didn't feel the most intuitive to play right away, but I can definitely appreciate the effort you took to apply the theme! And I loved the music choices for each planet (the first planet's song was a banger!).
Thank you! My friend who made the music would be happy to hear that! First song was awesome enough for me to code to it for a good while lol.
once I kinda got a handle on the controls and the teleport mechanic I found I was having a much more enjoyable time! the music was funky as hell although it was quite loud. very good use of theme but I think I might of broken the realistic orbit it kept shrinking until it became 4 vertical lines however this could just be a result of the version I played so I'll ignore it for my rating. Great work!!
Thank you! That orbit thing is just a display bug I never got the time to fix, not really a version issue. By all means let that affect your decision with the rating, feedback is way more valuable to me rn than ratings!! (also yeah the sounds are very loud sorry about that)
Love the art, great game! the effects were juicy and while the movements were confusing at first i kinda got used to it kinda???? idk but i had alot of fun!!!!!!!
Thank you! It follows a realistic orbit style of movement, which definitely isn't the easiest thing to learn 😅 In the future I may add a tutorial room just so you can mess around and test how orbit works! Thank you again for the feedback!!
Great game. I love how you get to control the shape of the orbit and how you can teleport to a different part of the orbit to dodge stuff. Additionally, shooting out that laser from the special attack is pretty neat.
This is just an opinion, but I think it would make the game a lot better if you could teleport a little more frequently and also anywhere or farther on the orbit. I think it would allow the player room to react and dodge stuff from the bosses more, and also allow them to take more advantage of a strategically shaped orbit. Also because I think it’s pretty fun to teleport in this game lol.
In any case, really good job on this, especially for the first ever jam you have done :)
Thank you! really appreciate that you took the time to try out my game! I considered reducing the teleportation cooldown but who knows, might make that a thing in a later update depending on how it's received :)
Nice art but quite laggy for a 2D game. Wish it ran smoother.
I'm guessing it's with the orbit display? It's not very optimized since I ran out of time to fix it. Other than that, Thank you for giving my game a shot!
I do not know what is causing it, but one moment the game runs okay then the next moment 20 fps. And it is frequent.
I'm sorry to hear that :( I'll look into that later, I'm not sure what may be causing that? I tried the game on a lower end device and it seemed to run fine. Thanks for trying to play it anyways!
Oh man I LOVE that you have full control over the orbital ring and can just mathematically obliterate it, I found that part of your game so much fun to play around with, and it was so fascinating seeing just how far you can push it. You could've just made a basic ring, but I more than commend the effort you put into making such a unique mechanic instead. Such a cool use of the theme
EDIT: On this being your first ever jam, I think you did a stellar job and the reason I say this is because of how well you used the theme. I've played well over a 100 games in this jam, and most people play it very safe with the theme or use it in a vapid manner, but your willingness to do something so bizarre with theme with your orbital system is the exact kind of creativity game jams are made for. Continue fostering that creativity, because the more you build on that the more fun you'll have making games
Thank you!!!! We originally had a basic ring going but I discovered that it broke after the jam's submissions ended D:
Oh I really thought this was something unique that you intended. Thats a very good accident though because that ring was the coolest thing about your game, and it's an important lesson in really trying to make something unique that shatters the mold. If you see a mechanic in another game, a great exercise is to think to yourself how could you push the boundary of that mechanic and break it. Breaking the ordinary is how you get some real cool experimental stuff going
Thank you for those kind words! Last thing I want is to play it safe; I'll be sure to try and always foster this kind of creativity 💖!
Very cool idea and great use of the theme! It was pretty fun and took a lot of skill to master the mechanics. It took me a little while to figure out how to not move off the edge of the screen. XD
Overall, very fun game to play, and pretty interesting idea for the theme! :)
lol, Thank you!!
The orbital mechanics are a really cool take on the theme! They took a bit of time to get used to, but once I figured them out, the gameplay became pretty tactical. The music was great too. I had a lot of fun!
Thank you so much! If I had more time, I probably would've added a tutorial on movement. Starting 2 weeks in really didn't help but were happy with what we made!
the full committal to the obtuse control scheme is pretty cool. I had a lot of fun trying to figure out the rules of how the orbit changes. I think this idea is really well executed.
But I really don't know how the controls work. I just got a feeling for it, so maybe I was lucky.
I think the bosses do a good job of pushing the player to learn how to orbit and use the mechanics that are given to them. They feel maybe a little same-y though.
Thank you! I can see how the bosses are a little same-y. we rushed through a few of them due to the time constraint so there was a bit of repetition in our attack ideas.
