Cute and well-polished game, great job!

I kinda wish that the player would have to actually think and strategize on where to use the keys. Right now (except for lvl 2, I believe), you either use the key right away the moment you got it, or complete a short platforming section and use the key when you have nowhere else to go. This, I think, makes the level design quite linear despite having multiple dimensions. Effectively, nothing in the moment-to-moment gameplay of most of the levels would change if you removed the keys and just stitched the dimensions together into one left-to-right platforming level.

However, the game is still very fun and has a lot of potential if you go a little deeper with the main mechanics. Keep it up!

Great music and graphics (except for the fact that there was no floor, that kinda took me out of the game) but the controls feel really nice! I was kinda confused but I had a ton of fun. Excellent job!

This is fun! I think it's a really nice game concept and well implemented. I think this game could also be interesting if the levels were more designed like a puzzle game... Also this game has really nice visuals! Good job :)

Developer

I tried to make it a puzzle but it wasn't quite right. but thanks anyway 😅

Great graphics and audio! Also the game is really fun and I liked the changing dimension mechanic a lot! Great job!

Developer

Thanks!

Fun concept, cute music and art. I also liked the visual ques for safe spots when teleporting to other dimensions.  I had no problem with the jumps and actually enjoyed the challenge with velocity in the ice biome. Well done

Great game! The graphics are really cute, the music is a bit short but fitting, I really enjoyed the concept and the general feeling of the game ^^. Each world have their own identity, there are several levels, and you even added a couple of NPCs, that's a lot of polish for a 7-games jam ^^!

I just have a couple of nitpicks ^^':

- I would have loved to have a way to know in advance the layout of the different universes, like an outline in the background or something. I died a cople of times because I teleported and fell into a hole xD.

- The ice physics are a nice touch, but the fact that the character is affected by the ice even airborne is really weird and threw me off-guard a couple of times xD

- On Windows, the game closes after each death. On WebGL, the levels freezes and usually restarts. But I died a couple of times on level 6 and the game just froze ^^'. I'll try to finish the game another time, because right now, I'm a bit mad to restart the first 5 levels xD. A level selection would be great ^^'.

Other than that, the game is really solid and the idea is perfectly in the theme. Congratulations, you did an amazing job =)!

Developer

Actually, I thought it would be a solution to the crashing problem, but I guess I was wrong.

I'm glad you liked it though!

I really like how this game looks, but something is wrong with the jump- I can't get past the tutorial because one of the little pillars is too high. Looking at the screenshots, it seems that the jump is supposed to be way higher than I could get it 🤔

I have a high refresh-rate monitor, and sometimes games tie gravity to refresh rate, which can cause gravity to be waaay stronger than it should be. Idk if that's the problem here, but it might be a good place to look for fixing it!

(Also, I feel like it counts as game-breaking enough to update during the voting period! If you fix it, I'll give the game another try because it looks good in the screenshots!!!)

Developer(+1)

I think a few other players have the same problem. I'm going to fix it now! 😓

Developer(+1)

I uploaded the patch. I think you can play without any problems now!

It works!

My only criticism is that it doesn't feel like there's a jump buffer or coyote-time at all, which made some jumps feel tighter than they otherwise could've been.

Aside from that, it was really fun!

Really good music and feel for the game. I didn't notice any bugs which would undermine the game experience in the game play. And really good work with the level design, it must have been really hard to figure out the design since I was pulling my hair figuring the level :D, so great job with game..

One major issue I had is the game closes every time, I die and it got really annoying that I wanted to stop playing as it takes some time to get used to the movement. But then I started opening other doors when I was going to die and got around the issue so was able to finish the levels and it was satisfying when I finally reach the end.

And special mentions to the story board at the start, I really liked it...

Have a good day!! :D

This was shockingly similar conceptually to our game but took the concept in a different direction and with more polish. is it intentional that you can jump into floating exits sometimes? Also I found the player was difficult to control and the forest dimension sprites blended in with the background to much. Despite this criticism I still think you did really well :D

Mmmmh I think I'm missing something. My character doesn't jump high enough to clear the second gap, and I cannot change dimensions (1,2,3,4 doesn't do anything ^^'). I tried the WebGL version and the Windows version (also, the windows version crashes when my character dies) ^^'.

The other buttons work perfectly, is there another way to change dimensions?

Developer

Someone else mentioned the same problem. When you say second gap, which one are you talking about? Doesn't the character jump?

Submitted

I took a short video of the problem, here is what I'm talking about ^^.

Maybe I'm missing something?

Developer

Oh i see. No, you're not missing anything. It is my fault .

Due to the game's gravity code, the character jumps too much on devices with low fps. I think the opposite happened for you too. More fps, less character jumping 😥

Let me fix it. I'll let you know when I upload the patch!

I'm sorry again for the problem

Submitted

Ooooh that makes sense! The rules of the jam says you are allowed to upload a patch if you have to fix a game-breaking bug that prevents people from testing  your game, and I think it would be perfectly justified =).

Please ping me when the fix is done, I would love to give it a try ;)

Developer

I uploaded the patch. I hope your problem is solved now!😅

Submitted

It seems fixed, the character jumps much higher =).

I'll test the game and do a proper review of it, thank you =)!

The unusual gameplay of moving between dimensions was fun, but a little confusing for me. It was nice to rack my brains! Thank you!

Developer

I am glad you like it!

Submitted

a very fun game, the dimension jumping was not something I expected but it was done nicely. The gameplay felt smooth, although jumping felt a bit floaty. audio and graphics could use a little boost but its a jam so its good enough for that.

7/10 :)

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted

....Am I missing something here? My character doesn't jump high enough to clear the second gap in the first level.

Developer

Did you change dimension?

Is very cute, and the art is amazing, im very impressed when ppl do their own art, maybe because im very bad at that !

Submitted

really cute and fun to play

Developer

I am pleased to hear that! Also, I would be very happy if you rate it!

Submitted

sure thing

Such a cute game, graphics are cute fitting with the music and sounds!

Frostworld definitly be hard haha, tho one thing if I fall I fall into the void so make the player not see the void haha!

Really cool game with nice mechanics!

Submitted

Well done! The mechanic is pretty good. The movement could have used some polish, but overall very good experience.

Developer

I am pleased to hear that!

Submitted

Really cool idea and the door hopping implementation was great as well. Well done!

Developer

thanks!

Submitted

I love the artwork! Sadly I couldn't reach the door in the second level/dimension, maybe I did something wrong

Developer

At level 2, you had to first get the wood key and then use it to get the yellow key. After that, you should go back to the spawn point with the yellow key and use the wooden key there. You could go up from there and finally pass the level with the yellow key.

It may be a little long, but I think it's fun to play.!

Submitted

Fun game!! I started playing and didnt want to stop!! Love the art btw

Developer

I'm glad you liked it !
