Super spooky, for me it was a little hard to identify if the client had wings or tail. Game is ultra polished and was tons of fun to play.

How does your game fit the theme?
There are creatures that appear behind a door and you need to identify their wants based off appearance
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Everything was made by me from scratch except a handful of CC0 and free assets from the Unity Store

Hey everyone!
Your feedback has been really nice to go through and read, so much so that I'm going to release the full version of this game on Steam (in a few months) Wishlist it if you're interested :) https://store.steampowered.com/app/2858320/Night_Shift_Dissonance/
I also made a devlog if you wanna see my development process!
What an awesome game
I love the visual style you went with, the retro shaders really add to the moody, murky atmosphere.
the controls feel great, and interacting with the environment is really intuitive.
correlating the demons' appearance to the item they want is a really cool and unique game premise, it kind of reminds me of the monster in lethal company that you give trinkets to through a slot.
the story is interesting, I felt intrigued by the dialogue while playing
(p.s. if you wanna try my game out, it's also about offering items to a demonic creature behind a door which will kill you if you don't satisfy it 😅)
This game looks and feel really great, but I found the difficulty way too high even on easy. I suspect it's mostly because it's hard to tell if a client has a tail/wings/etc. but it could also be because I've misread a rule. Having an explanation of why my item was wrong would be super useful.
This clever game, I enjoyed it a lot! I enjoyed the narration. One thing I couldn't figure out, if I selected an item by accident, I didn't see a way to put it back down. Overall I was very entertained by this game. Great work!
For only having 1 week to work on it, this game is incredible and it feels very stylized and the polish is great.
Found it really difficult, couldn't beat the first night. But the game was very fun and unique!
Cool idea, you might want to add brightness setting as I found it difficult to see some of the clients features.
Interesting horror concept! I'm not a fan of this genre, but this horror intrigued me! You did a great job with the visuals and sound, they created the right atmosphere!
Couldn't hear the sound even after maxing out the volume. And can't find the door because its too dark. I feel like it's a good game but I just cant play it, I wish you added a brightness slider as well
Really nice game flow and game loop for sure. I did find it challenging to remember what all the aspects meant, so I failed miserably at the game. But it's well made for sure, and a cool concept.
Nice work.
D
I like the intro tho, where you make sure that the player has the right settings. I like the graphics it reminds me of the old ps2 games it really took me back. It was a bit challenging to remember the client's aspects but I like challenging. Idk what happened to the client but he doesn't look like human 😂😂, overall cool game and it would be cool if you can rate my game too.
eyy that was pretty fun! maybe a little too hard at the start trying to remember what looks = what item, but once you do it's pretty much smooth sailing. maybe making the player be able to open the drawers regardless if there's a client or not could help out alot when trying to find some items. the door bug does get annoying at times, but very good game, i enjoyed it!
Amazing concept. It was kinda tricky that we had to remember all the aspects and then give the item. Nice audio and atmosphere.
I suggest having a little bit of difficulty by adding a jumpscare if we don't give the correct item in 2 or 3 tries. This may also help to add fun to this game.
Overall, great submission for this game jam. Congratulations :D
This was really fun!
Some suggestions if you don't mind: I think having a notes system for the player to look at instead of having to go to the wall everytime might be a bit easier on the player. I also had trouble seeing some details on the creature behind the door (but maybe my monitor is just too dark).
Really great game though! I had fun running around the room trying to find what that impatient client wanted from me. The art of everything really meshed well together and I appreciated the effects on the items to help identify them quicker.
The positions of the checklists is sorta intentional just so players can't quickly go back and forth (plus if you think about it you're gonna have to walk all around the room each time due to the item placements) I 100% agree with you that I need to add a brightness slider though for sure. Thank you for the feedback! :)
Perfect. Just perfect. the game was awsome and I don't mean to brag but, I say that you should continue the project after the jam as with a little more work put into it, it would be steam release worthy !
Please rait my game too ! : https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-11/rate/2535873
