How does your game fit the theme?
You are on an elevator and you don't know what will be behind it's door

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Mostly, but we had some beforehand and we also took 1 ambient sound loop from Pixabay

Knocked the theme out of the park, really liked the sound design as well. Dash felt a bit intense but otherwise really cool game. The voice of the elevator “narrator” was such a great touch.

Cool game ! Great audio and visual

Also good that the objectives were clearly stated

This somehow feels so nostalgic, like some FPS style KULA WORLD with vocalized lore.

The music fits really well and the sound effects are nice. The voice over in the elevator is also a nice touch.
The rendering style is nice, but the repetition of using 1 texture per level diminished this a bit.
As for the level design, It also felt a bit monotonic due to the square hallways. I think if more of the assets were shared among levels and maybe less levels (but with more elaborate level design), It would add a lot to the immersion and style of the game.
I like the idea of the glow stick to fend of the darkness. I bit more feedback on its effect would have been nice though.

Overall really nice execution.

Hey!

Thank you for playing it! We have over 40 levels and 9 themes. Every level has a randomly choosen theme. Glad you liked it!

I think this was my favorite interpretation of the theme yet! An elevator door would have something different behind it every time it opens! Clever!

I had fun right off the bat! I like the idea or running to and from the elevator and having to collect things to progress.

Two ideas / pieces of feedback:

  • the dash felt like it went too far too fast and made it feel a bit jarring
  • i liked seeing how much oil there was to complete each level, but wish it showed me how much I had already collected
  • I think it could also be neat to see some overall progression between levels too. Something that shows how far you are across the earth, (and you can estimate how much oil you'll need to get there), and then maybe that opens up the possibility of not having to get every can of oil from each floor. And adds some extra level of player choice based on the danger of the floor you're on. For example, "Oh I have enough oil to get to the next floor so I'll skip this floor cuz it looks tough", or "Oh, this is a really dangerous floor, I'm just going to go for one can of oil here"

Just some thoughts. Regardless, great work! May be my favorite so far! Good theme with a simple and engaging gameplay loop!

Kind of confusing to play, audio was cool though

Loved the music, at first felt kinda lost in the gameplay, but it was a very great game to play

Cool game, it's almost like a 3D Pacman

the game looks great and the audio was amazing too! It was a bit hard tho, because you die in one hit. Overakk great entry!

It seemed a little confusing at first, but over time I got the hang of it. I had a lot of fun for a few minutes! Thanks for your game.

Hey!

Thank you for your encouraging words and for playing the game! Glad yoi liked it. Sorry for poor instruction... The first voiceline in elevator says all you need to do, but i assume 90% of the players just skips it. XD

Simply amazing! Everything is top tier, congrats on the teamwork! The core idea is really great. Simple, yet effective. It reminds me a bit of Lethal Company for some reason!

The artwork is the first thing that stands out. The old style it has looks really great, and the floor layouts really remind me of those old dungeon crawlers with procedurally generated dungeons. All of those themes are really great as well for switching the game looks around. I also really like how the screen gets warped and darker when you get close to the entity.

I like that the game is pretty challenging, at least for me.  Having the darkness follow you around, never knowing if there's something at the corner is pretty scary as well. The mechanics are simple but they work well. Simply with the dash and glowsticks you can maneuver around in many ways.

The audio is amazing. I really liked that you added some voice acting, I didn't expect to listen to any really! But the spotlight for me really goes to that eerie sound that the darkness makes, man it drives me crazy. I guess it's kind of a hum or sth from a creature. Idk but it fits it perfectly and REALLY gives me the creeps. Knowing that it's getting closer and hearing that frightened me.

Hey! Glad you liked it! It's funny when you sayd that it reminds you of Lethal Company, because for me personaly it reminds Lethal Company and Deep Rock Galactic! But anyways! Thank you so much for the encouraging words! And thank you for playing it! :)

The movement feels nice and fluid, and the aesthetic makes me remember the games I played as a child but with better sound and screen effects, well done!

Delightful game! The movement felt very fluid and I liked the sound effects. It took me a little while to figure out how to effectively use the glowsticks (I originally thought they would delete the darkness, but I guess they just make an area that they avoid?), but that was part of the challenge!

Developer

Hey! Glad you liked the idea! Thank you for playing it!
