I enjoyed the game a lot. Good job! :)
Literally liked all!, especially the sound effects :)
well done!
Controls nicely and has cool upgrades, plus nice weapon variety. Idk how but I went through like 4 weapon rooms in a row, one of them giving me the option of 'shorty' and 'shorty' luckily I was already wielding a 'shorty' so that was an easy decision to make... I think letting the player know at the start that hp = keys would be beneficial because I was just spending keys left and right till I was hit for the first time and realized I had been quite literally gambling my life away. Solid entry!
I am a sucker for 8-bit games, and this one especially. It's quite a fun little game, 2 things I don't like are the music as it gets a little repetitive after a while and those BATS, I HATE THEM. Anyway, good game I'd say. If you could also rate my game, that'd be pretty cool :).
NIce graphics and gameplay. Also the sound design and music was good.
great platformer game, design and audio very well executed. i appreciate the fact that the game is actually challenging and not too easy like many other games. i also love the different types of enemies (the enemy which doesnt move and shoots you from a distance is the most annoying one lol) had much fun and a great time :D
I also found a bug: when you clear a stage and go inside a door you can press E multiple times and skip a few stages ^^
WOW Thank you so much!! I didn't even thought about trying that with opening doors! Definitely something to fix once the rating period is over. Hopefully no one abuses it until then.
Im very happy to know you liked it, but yes the game is difficult and its not THAT intended hahahaha, there's some balancing I must do once the rating period is over.
There will be updates in the future, so please look forward to them!
I love the sound effects and mechanics. Reminds me of old school NES games!
Thanks a lot! I actually used FamiStudio to make the music and sounds, which is a program to create NES-like audio.
Great game, good roguelike platformer, nice graphics and sounds, I liked it:3
Cool little shooter/platformer with a nice visual style. The weapon could perhaps be a little more accurate, as some guns such as the machine gun feel a bit useless and even the sniper seems to require pin-point accuracy for things like the insects. Enemy variety is nice too.
It might also be worth tweaking the room selection to avoid entering more than one weapon room in a row. It took me a few runs to get the sniper, as each time I picked it up I was then forced to change it in a following room.
Great game!
Nice gameplay and controls! You were able to get in a nice variety of enemies and an upgrade system as well. The insects in the second room were a BEAST to get through. Great job! I liked the idea of transitioning from level to level through the doors and that your health was keys. Really nice use of the theme.
Congrats on finishing the jam!
i had fun shooting around, :P now i want a door that shoots keys instead of bullet
I like the game game mechanics, fast movement and especially the animations. I really loved the smoothness of the animations and it feels great. I recommend you to play our game too if you are looking for a challenging platformer.
This game fun to play and shooting mechanics are so good.
This game feels great to play! The feedback when clearing out a room or choosing an upgrade is so satisfying. I like the way you have to balance your health with the higher cost doors. it makes for some interesting strategy.
Thanks for playing it!
I am planning on adding more choices with the keys for more diverse runs, so please look forward to it!
Dude this game is very cool, bro the animations, audio man, I wish I came up with this idea. This game reminds me of the old nintendo days. left a rate and it would be cool if you can leave a rate on my game too.
Thanks a lot! Glad to know you really liked it!
of course it's a good game, could you also review my game?
Nice sprites, also the screen shaking effect is satisfying :) Crosshair is really cool and informative too
Thanks for playing!
Screenshake is almost always a good addition! And the crosshair having the remaining ammo and contraction when you're able to shoot was fun to make. I also wanted to make a small animation for the reload on the crosshair (besides the moving line) but couldn't make it and I didn't wanted to waste more time trying.
easy to play and had a great time with it!
Thanks!
Im happy to know its easy to get used to and that you had fun with it!
you are welcome and good luck!
and it will be great if you can check our game😄,i will leave the link here!

The game feel is just so satisfying !
Glad to know you liked the game feel! I spent a lot of time just playing because I felt it was nice
Very impressed considering you made everything from scratch! I didn't love having to choose a new weapon without having the option to continue on with my current one and maybe this is due to my poor skills but a couple of the maps would often lead you into a corner and I'd have no shot at getting out without sacrificing a life, possibly look into expanding the map to be slightly larger. But overall, this game was phenomenal, the screen shake was a nice touch to feel the impact of the gun. Also, not sure if it was intended but the machine guns spread was quite large and it felt slightly lower than where my mouse was pointing. I am being very picky but that's because this game is very well made and hopefully my suggestions could take it to the next level (or make it worse, if thats the case... my bad lol). But ya, not overpowering audio was great and the diversity of the enemies given your time frame was enjoyable.
Wow thanks a lot for the feedback!
It wasn't very easy making every single asset myself, but I think it was worth it, seeing as everybody in general has fun playing it, kinda makes me proud you know?
I am planning on updating the game once the rating/voting period is over with balancing and more content, like adding the option to keep the current gun in "gun rooms" for 1 key, readjsut weapons stats in general, and also modify the randomness of the overall game (since its pretty off sometimes).
By the machinegun feeling lower than where you were aiming at, do you mean in general the bullets were going under the pointer?
Again, thank you so much for playing my game and taking your time to write this awesome feedback!
Great game! Love the use of colors and limited palette, the gameplay is fun and simple and I love the mechinic of using keys as both a way to progress and your health, it creates a very tense cycle of gameplay. My only criticism is that I was confused when I went through a loop of doors collecting pick ups and I was forced to cycle between weapons to progress. sometimes I'd have a weapon I'd like and felt like I was forced into picking a worse one. Overall though, I really enjoyed this, the enemy design was fun, man those flies got me hahaha.
Thanks for giving it a shot!
I kinda wanted to limit myself to a single color palette for all the game, just for fun, and I think I managed to create all the sprites using only 5 colors. In fact, I also used the same palette to create the cover art for the game.
The game indeed needs to make more checks regarding the random elements, because yes, it could make you go through 3 gun rooms in a row, or 5 upgrade rooms. I also read a lot of people complaining the forced weapon choice.
I will update the game once the voting period is over, and one of the things I'll definitely add is the option to keep the current gun for 1 key. I think that'll add more choices to the player, keep the gun and lower my health? or pick a new one?
Im very happy you had fun with the game! Expect some updates in the future!
Oooo the idea of keeping your gun via spending a key or being forced to change sounds like a great addition! I really like that, it keeps in theme and gives players another choice that could be positive. You did a wonderful job, especially with how tense of a time the jam was, I'm looking forward to the updates, keep up the good work!
