It was a fun board game. Digging holes and finding treasure is interesting!!
Thanks for the fun!!
Very nice! Addicting gameplay, very Carcassonne. The core mechanic is good and I hope you continue to expand on it in the future. Well done!
Nice work! I loved the main mechanic.
Loved the art and the music. This is a great concept. I restarted several times, but I felt like randomness was always against me. I just wasn't getting tiles that I needed, the way was blocked, or I was running out of gold. It seems that some others found the gameplay easy. Maybe I needed a really easy first level as a confidence booster. I really did enjoy it, I was jamming out to the tunes of the soundtrack while trying to get to the goal. I just didn't have luck on my side. Great game!
I've been playing this game for past hour. WHAT HAVE YOU MADE
This is how we felt as well, whenever a tiny change was made and we needed to playtest! xD
First of all I really liked the music and sound design. It helped the game feel alot! The art was cute too and I liked how the movement felt and the luck involved to be able to win. On the other hand I think the theme could've been implemented a bit stronger and it was quite easy to get stuck. All in all still a very good entry!
I very enjoy the game! I really like the graphics.
But I got stuck here. I had the 4th slot which was straight up, but I couldn't dig the ground. I tried to buy another shape but still I couldn't dig the ground
I'm glad you like that game!!!
And ... Ughhh - A very tricky situation! And yeah the rules are that you can't dig in every direction! Only where the tunnel is like "cut of" you can continue in that particular direction, e.g. the tile to the bottom right of you. So in your case you'll have to go around the rock.
I'll need to ask you: Did you you trap yourself like that or did the maze generate this way? I really need to know this, since I try to improve the world generation as far as I can!
I think I trapped myself. I digged the whole way to that location (except the door parts). The area (in the image) that I was in couldn't be digged. I tried to go to the tile below and the tile on the right and couldn't dig. I had over 400 gold and bought different shapes but still I couldn't do anything in that area.
Ok I see you problem - The thing is - the shapes need to connect to EVERY tile in its surroundings - It has to connect to every tunnel-exit, and it cant lead into rocks. Its kinda tricky to wrap your head around at first, I know. But these are the rules. I definitely should have made a tutorial - but there was not enough time :/
Got a bit lost at the beginning but got around and honestly, it was really fun. I think the game could be balanced a little better, it's way too easy now, but it's a game jam so who cares? the audio and graphics are amazing and the gameplay is simple in concept and feels good to play. Overall
8.5/10 :)
Really nice game, looks very polished. It is a bit unclear at first that you cannot go into rocks (at least not from within the game), but it is written on the itch page so that is fine.
Art is really nice and consistent. I think it would be interesting to expand this game with other gameplay elements in the future.
Very good entry, I enjoyed it very much, well done :D
Wow 35 seconds before the deadline, well done. 😮
The concept is great, I got myself stuck enough times I would have been happy for a restart button, but I enjoyed coming back to try again. Nice work.
A great game. i took me a while to get to know how to use tile!!
Cool game, it was fun!
The soundtrack is gorgeous!! I like it a lot, even though for my personal taste, it contrasts too much with the game mood.
I couldn't appreciate the management aspect of the game. I always had much more gold than necessary. I found easy exploiting the gameplay creating secondary useless tunnels to waste tiles I didn't need in that moment, untill I got what I want to proceed in the right direction.
Overall, a solid entry! Good job!
Great game, very addictive! And an interesting concept! Great Job!
Pretty fun game! I had to restart like 10 times before I started actually thinking about what I should place where B)
Fun game, I enjoyed playing it! However, it takes a long time to walk around your tunnels in the late stage of game. I wish there was some kind of fast teleportation or smth
Fun to explore and try to fit the pieces together (definitely built myself in a circle and got stuck the first time lol). Cool concept and well executed.
Cool concept, good job on the assets and animations. The soundtrack gives an unreal gnome vibe
Had a bit rough start to understand what is going on, but once I grabbed it, I enjoyed it a lot. Great job!
Definitely like the idea and concept. The art is really great, and the music is good to. It's really funny you're using hall of the mountain for gnome game!
Unfortunately mine was a bit bugged and could not progress. Tiles that I should have been able to place did not let me place them and I could never really get past the start. It looks like a cool concept though
I'm sorry to hear, that you couldn't enjoy our game like we designed it :(
But I'm glad you still liked the concept!
There should be no bugs in the placement-system. If the engine did not allow you to place a tile there is a reason for this! There are certain criteria for tile-placement:
