I like the combat system! I think the game could use some work on graphics and UI though, but nice game in general, good job!
A great foundation for what could become a really exciting action roguelike! Hope to see ya polish up the rough corners, throw in some impactful attack feedbacks, speed up the pace of gameplay, then give the audio/music department some love as well!
The game is fun, the combat is good. Some polish will really make it stand out.
The game is really a fun and charm
Good combat, it was a lot of fun.
I think the camera could be zoomed out a little more. More graphics and polish would really help this game out. Also, some music was much needed. Could turn into something really interesting.
Some more notifications as to whats happening EG sounds or indicators for powerups. Other than that well done on creating all from scratch for this jam!
It was fun to play.
Some feedback: I couldn't tell if the powerups were doing anything or not. maybe have number popups when you lifsteal (+2 Hp) and i didnt notice anything visually when i selected fire trail
And maybe add Music
The fire trail uses VFX which only works in the downloaded version
Actually enjoyed the combat quite a bit! Keep at it :)
The developers clearly put a lot of love into the game, and it shows in every detail.
Definitely a bit on the janky side, but your core loop is there and I genuinely had a good time.
I ended up just dashing behind enemies and smacking them early on, but as the archers started to spawn in larger and large numbers it became more difficult, then when the longsword guys started spawning in and turning faster than any other enemy I knew I was cooked lol.
Some more polish on the attack hitboxes would make the combat feel a lot more consistent, on top of that some visual for connecting hits like the enemy flashing red or getting knocked back by your attack would go a LONG way to improve the feel of the combat.
Genuinely had a good time though, even through the jank, and that speaks well toward your game design decisions.
Simple game, but fun!
Nice simple game!
The game could use some polish and some more graphics, effects, game feel and stuff like that to improve the feeling but the game was still pretty fun. There was some good enemy variety, maybe you could've had the enemies look a little different also but I also struggled to notice the effects of the upgrades? The dash was also not too useful it felt like. Overall tho quite fun!
Very fun game with an interesting take on the theme. My main suggestions would be to make the hit/hurt boxes bigger because hitting the enemy was a bit frustrating, and making the audio a bit louder because it was hard to hear compared to other games. Otherwise, great job!
It was awesome!! I recommend trying this game out it was fun battling it out!!
Pretty neat, I think there is potential. Even though the art style is simple with some small changes to the gameplay I think I would definitely play this a bit more.
Feedback:
- A bit more feedback on hitting enemies would have gone a long way (cm shakes for example)
- The aiming is unintuitive, I often didn't know what to do to position myself properly to hit enemies. Might also have to do with the player being a symmetrical object without a point of reference.
- Some enemy indicators would have also helped, I was just running around sometimes not knowing where the enemies were.
Pretty Cool!
I enjoyed the upgrade system. Made the game feel a bit more re-playable. Also enjoyed accidentally getting on top of an enemy and watching them flail around trying to hit me :P
Game is fun, I can't say I didn't laugh when I first saw a big sword guy! Unfortunately i didn't pass far enough to see magic guy from screenshot. It would also help a lot if you gave controls info in the corner of a screen, I discovered dash totally by accident.
Thanks, I thought it would just be easier to have the controls on the games page
