I love the game as a short, calming experience. The sounds add light humor while not disrupting the tranquility. Your vision is captured well here I feel, so I'm interested in seeing you create something with more interactivity in the future. Best of luck and great first game.

How does your game fit the theme?
I tried to capture a calming aesthetic of a lumberjack chopping trees and thinking to himself before a storm rolls in.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes

This is a great first game! Keep up the good work, I need more breathing in my ears! :D
Well done!
The sounds are very well done and adds a unique aspect to the game.
Looks very nice with the parallax effect! :D
very nice first crack at gamedev! Definitely going to parrot Quinten on the aspect ratio thing. I didn't do that for my game either, and it was definitely a regret of mine.
I read the "Just "enjoy" me breathing into your ear" bit so I have to ask, did you record the sound effects yourself? Very impressive if so! (I've always steered away from that but it's something I'm very interested in doing!)
But yeah, love the vibe you're going for, and I hope to see you continue your gamedev journey!
That's right! I downloaded Audacity Friday afternoon, took a quick glance at Godot docs which suggested mp3 file format for web games (I knew I wanted to have it embedded in the browser), and then just started grunting and "whoosh"ing and....failing to imitate rain no matter how hard I tried. By the time I landed on the comical tree fall noise, I was feeling pretty lighthearted about it. If I were to do it again, I might just lean full force into the comical sound effects and see what comes out of that.
Thank you so much for your thoughts and your time playing my game! "Every journey begins with a single step. This...is step one."
to echo quinten, this felt kind of like more of a tech-test than a game. which, if this is your first game, makes a lot of sense actually.
when taken as a tech test, its not bad by any means. good job :)
The game less game, felt good chopping some tree's after spending an allnighter working on this jam stressing over bit's & byte's. For a next project set the window to 720p & enable to full screen button if you can avoids the weird horizontal scrollbars :D
You got a lot of stuff going for a first game, parallax & particles to name a few; hope you learned a lot on the project :)
Good luck on your gamedev journey! :)
Question: Is there any way to avoid the storm?
Ha! I'm happy to provide some brain dead zoning out after the hard work! Good call on the aspect ratio, will take that into consideration. It was definitely a learning experience! And no, there's no way to avoid the storm. I was way too focused on delivering the functionality I initially designed than to come up with anything actually "fun" to do. Next time, look out!
