What a great idea! The rewinding feels really rewarding. Good job :)

The game mechanic was really fun i really like the idea of memorizing where the spikes would be after running through the level for the first time and trying to avoid them after restarting, the graphics are also really neatly done and i love the lighting attached to the character, very cool game!

wow had more fun than I anticipate.

Great job on the game !!! Rating done

Nice game and I really like the Idea of playing your level in reverse

Submitted(+1)

I like that its a memory game and a platformer at the same time. Seeing yourself play the level in reverse is a very fun and surreal experience, ngl.

The only complaint I have is that seeing yourself faffing about is both very funny, but also a little annoying. A fast-rewind button would be nice. (if you are planning to expand on this game)

All in all, great game!

Haha! This one's very tricky!! I laughed at how miserably I died before it even happened.

Interesting idea. I graphics and audio are nice and it's fun being able to move through spikes you can't see yet. What would be helpful though is to have the game prompt you to restart the level after dying, rather than restarting automatically. This gives the player time to look at the level and strategize on how to go through the levels.

I don't know if you've ever played Superhot, but after you beat a level, it shows what it would have looked like in real time, and you feel like the smartest person alive. This game is the opposite of that. You get to the end and just have to watch as past you struggles and struggles and dies on spikes they couldn't see, and you're powerless to stop. There is absolutely nothing I would change about the rewind, however, it might be nice to see the spikes before you start the level. Amazing job.

Developer

Haha I didn't know it since now. I'm glad you like it, thank you so much! You're right, I think I've to add this because otherwise you have always to die once. Thanks! :)

i loved the game overall , failing wall jump was kinda frustrating to me , loved the particle effect and the lighting , good job !!

Like the idea of the rewind at the end of the scene.. some levels are quite hard.

Good Job.

My game is a casual game if you wanna rate is https://misterm.itch.io/mixtape-match , Thanks

This is a very cool concept. Great use of the theme and great polish! The background music is very fitting and energizing.

Loved the atmosphere! Congratulations on the jam!

Took a second to figure out what was going on, but well worth it.  It was really helpful to have the blood markers to help remember where you've gone wrong in the level

Hi there,

fun and cute game! I like th simple but powerful lighing and the cute character. The game reminded me of one brackeys tutorial on 2d lighting :D Much appreciated to do coding and artwork from scratch and solo! Controls could be a tiny bit better, but hey its a game jam, there is no room to complain :D Good stuff!

Developer

Thank you!

Haha, yes sometimes it's quite difficult and can be exhausting but It's the only way to create the things which come into your mind. Actually I didn't watched a brackeys tutorial for the lightning(had no time haha). I've just used a normal point & directional light (decreased the position- z axis and added to the player) in combination with a Sprite - diffuse material (added on tilemap, background, character). But I would recommend to avoid this and use proper 2d lightning, because I had many bugs with the rendering. :)

Developer

Im sorry for the bad controls and strange wall jump mechanics. I played it that often that i didn't realize it.

4th Level: The walljump works only if you are on the wall. Means: First click space and afterwards the direction.

Hope you can enjoy it anyways somehow. After the jam a updated version will be avalaible. Thanks @everyone for playing!

The controls were not that smooth but overall it's a very well made game. I didn't expect the rewind thing and it's awsome!

Developer(+1)

I was used to the bad controls so it was ok to me. But now after going trough the first feedbacks i've realized it too :D

Oh man and i can't change it until the end of the jam. Thank you for the feedback! :)

wow it's kind of cool! Love how you do with "rewind" in this game!
At least die one time every levels lol

Developer

Im glad you liked it BubbleTea!

clean look and feel, nice music.  The wall jumps were a bit difficult, but other than that, nice job!

The concept is really unique and especially the ripple effect is great. Just in 4th level where there are continuous 3 wall jumps .... it feels difficult. One suggestion - if the player size was smaller and controls were smoother it would have been more fun. It is still a great concept. great work :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback. I agree totally with you. It's always difficult as developer (after being used to the game) to find out what's "strange". I've written that I made 99% by myself, but I can't accept that compliment because the ripple effect was the only thing I searched in the internet( I'm not that good In shader coding). If you want to check it out: http://blog.onebyonedesign.com/unity/unity-ripple-or-shock-wave-effect/

After the Jam I will update the controls of the player. Thanks! :)
