In what way does your game fit the theme?
You control two balls simultaneously to dodge obstacles, destroy blocks and survive the stage. Both have to be synced up in order to get through the stage.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All assets and code were made by scratch or have royalty free licenses. The song is credited in the description of the project and in the game's credits.

Neat concept. Occasionally some of the red spikes would spawn inside of the blocks which killed me a couple times. The effects playing with the song was cool to see.

This was nice. I like the overall visual style and the gameplay felt tight. Took a little getting used to for me but I am not very coordinated! Had fun with this one.

Nice graphics and music. I can see this game being rewarding to get good at, easy to understand but hard to master. good job

Loved the visuals and the music, the gameplay is a bit hard to get at first but as you play more it becomes easier to move, one thing that could be added is some kind of warning for when a wall is gonna go down since when the beat drops it gets faster sometimes you can't even react in time to the wall coming down so most of the times its just an instant loss, but other than that really fun and it has a great feel to it. nice job.

This was a fun to play game but also a little hard (atleast for me) those red obstacles killed me so many times but overall its really suited to the theme and audio and visuals are also pleasant

I like the gameplay but it's really difficult when you play alone, I still enjoy it.

Thought the game was fun and challenging. The controls could have been tweaked slightly. Overall really great!

Great mechanics and visual design, nice work :)

This was fun and challenging, and well suited for the theme! I loved the art style too. I think the controls could have been tweaked a bit. Also would have been good to give the user more breathing room before introducing the red obstacles. So then they would have a chance to get the control scheme down first. I kept dying right at the beginning, but eventually, I got the hang of it. Great job overall!

If you have a chance please check out and rate my team's entry "Beatdown Breakdown Boomtastic" : https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-5/rate/928162 It's a rhythm-based brawler!

Wow... really cool game! Nice mechanics and use of the theme.

Very hard to play as one single player. I've managed to score 1172 points! (last about 1 minute)

Great level design and great game! Congratulations!

Great audio and visuals! I agree with those below that this would make a great mobile game

Great game. Had to get my brother and others to help to get further in the song. Very very fun. Would make a great mobile game, as using WASD is a little difficult. I'd love to see this on the PlayStore.

Thank you so much, we're glad you enjoyed it.  :)

We played around with the idea to add controller support to be able to use joysticks to control the player, but we didn't get around to it in this gamejam. Maybe we'll play around more with the idea in the future, as we think we could improve and refine the game by a lot still.

I really like this game! My only suggestions would be to improve the controls to make them less slippery, and make the difference in colors more obvious. It was a little hard to tell the difference between the two colors. besides that though its a really cool concept and I like the visuals!

Thanks for playing and your valuable suggestions, will keep that in mind for future projects :)

Very fun game, love the idea and the simple visuals and how the effects react to the music.

Big improvement since the first jam, good job :)

Right now It's very difficult to move the balls in time. It may even be more suitable to have 2 people playing in co-op. For one player I think it would be better if one of the balls could be controlled with mouse.

Developer

Thanks man, we definitely improved since then, but time is essentially still the biggest problem for us. We both have a busy schedule and a lot of assignments and exams, but I'm happy we were still able to finish our game.

Changing the controls to WASD + Mouse is interesting and will definitely try it out soon.

Sweet game! The graphics were really nice to look at, and the randomized runner element to it was really cool! I wish that the characters didn't slide as much,  but overall a good game. I thought the central gameplay mechanic was really clever, where you want to be spread out to collect the cubes but if you are spread out too much the spikes will get you. Well done!

The idea is super simple and yet challenging. I noticed that the points and obstacles are random, which must've taken a lot of time to implement. I'm not sure how I feel about generated parts in a rhythm-based game - I usually expect that the gameplay is closely-tied to the played music. I managed to get to the first  "speed up" segment but even getting there wasn't easy for me. The visuals are impressive, but the gameplay doesn't feel rewarding to me.

I would say it is hard to control two objects at same time with a keyboard.

I think in most cases music game focus more on fast reaction instead of controlling.

However, if this is controlled with a touch screen, I am pretty sure it would be a completely different story.

Cool game, good job.

I like the concept, but I feel like this is type of game that heavily depends on cool SFX and satisfying particles. Also the rapid change of pace at some point comes very unexpected

Developer(+1)

Yeah we probably worked the most on the audioreactor and trying to make it look cool with vfx, so that's a good point. Gameplay wise we had to hastily put everything together because of bad time management and real life getting in the way sadly. Thank you for your critique :)

Nice game. I saw the idea in different places but it is ok. Kind of hard to control. Nice job :)

Thank you so much for playing :)

This game was incredibly easy at the start, but with such a ramp in difficulty at the drop, I was unable to enjoy the song with the gameplay, as it was game-over every time.

Developer

I'll have to agree. Sadly we didn't have the time to improve the difficulty curve, since we didn't decide on the song until later in development. The audio reactor is still buggy and sometimes it goes way to fast. Definitely gonna focus more on improving the gameplay in the next game jam.
