Nice and very interactive like the little mini cutscenes at the beginning of the game!

awesome, rate mine

Cool game! I liked the ambition you had to add a storyline, thought that was pretty neat. The music choice added to the atmosphere really well! However, I did come across one bug where the ball could glitch through the wall and the dog would move off-screen and never come back. Other than that, great job!

Nice story with a simple pong game.  Like the relaxing music too.

P.S. Is it normal that I can move forward in the pong game, or that's just a bug?

Developer(+2)

It's normal, added for more fun!

The isometric it's pretty good, nice concept too!

This game is great! The idea is good and the story is interesting.

This is a great game with an awesome art style! I really like the character's and the variety in game play. It would be awesome to see this expanded. Well Done!

So cute!!! Its always a surprise to see story focused games in game jams, a very good surprise at that. Thank you for this wonderful game!

This game was super innovative - great storytelling!

Nice music! i see that the camera could see all the "untileed" part at the left side

Nice game. But I agree with the other comments.

A fun little game where you play with a dog what more can you ask ?

Found varying styles of art a little out of place. Playing the game I felt I was way over powered lol. BUt still fun to play. Nice game.

I enjoyed the game for a bit until i guess i bugged the game when i hit the ball out of the screen.....

The art was also good....great work!!!!!!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing, sorry you experienced the collider bug with the ball.  You can hit escape to reset the paddles and ball.

Good Job. The game is amazing.

Great job! It has good the story, cutscenes and music.
Your art is also great, but for me the pixel characters not perfectly match with the environment.

Developer

Thanks.  We actually had a stretch goal for sprites to match,  but we ran out of time.

It was a cute little game tbh. Although I find it quite unusual to have a pixel art character with that environment. Otherwise, good work for the fun game! :)

I love the art and mini cutscenes and the story was phenomenal! I don't understand how the game fits the theme of stronger together but I can see it fit the theme together ; ) It was just a cute and adorable experience overall and I had a lot of fun!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and the review.  We feel it matches the theme because both the boy and the dog were stronger when they were together.  With covid and the isolation, many of us are a little weaker or strained emotionally/mentally.  Having a dog, or a pet to play with, and care for makes us stronger.

nice cut scene and story (sad ending..)

OMFG... SO ADORBS...

But...what I didn't get... is how the heck did Pongo get into the house? Were those the Dads talking outside or something before blackout?

What I didn't like:

  • Clarity issue sometimes with what you're supposed to be doing
  • Theme connection is a bit weak IMHO
  • No sound FXs?

What I liked:

  • The art was amazing!
  • Music was nice
  • Story was great
  • Pong Mini-game (although I totally cheated everytime)

Overall, this was a great jam submission, even with the weak theme connection.

Developer

Thanks for playing and thank you for taking the time to provide thoughtful feedback.  Are you sure that was Pongo?  I will agree, we could have used some prompts or hints when a player spent too much time in an area without triggering story movement.  And sounds effects were on the bucket list, but we ran out of time.  We had several things fall in the scope cut trash can.  We feel it matches the theme because both the boy and the dog were stronger when they were together.  With covid and the isolation, many of us are a little weaker or strained emotionally/mentally.  Having a dog, or a pet to play with, and care for makes us stronger.
