I think this game looks amazing, some minor tweaks to player movement and you've got a great recipe brewing. It'd be helpful to have a map of some kind, or for the level to have lead you to your goal a little more directly. But overall great game!
I like the artwork, but the collisions are a bit odd. But the atmosphere is great.
I would increase the speed of the character a bit and also the jump height.
But it is very well done for the short time! The story and atmosphere are well balanced.
Cool intro, verry dark choice for this game i think is some layering problems, for example weapon is behind the player. But rest look good, player movement, attack.... Also need some walking directions.
great work
This game is so polished for a jam game.
There is a few things i dont like though.
For example the lack of music, it makes the game alot less intense.
Also i think that mana should regenerate more quickly when out of combat.
Other than that, the art is amazing, combat is fun and the fact you got an inventory working in 7 days is just amusing.
Beautiful game!
The art is very impressive. Also, there are a lot of very nice additions that really create a nice vibe to the overall ambience. Really liked the flying mana orbs that go to the character. I can tell that you spent a lot of time on these.
I also liked the diversity of spells, but I feel that the way I have to drag to use them is a little bit awkward. I would have preferred, for example, an assignable key for each slot.
You really nailed the ambience, and this could very well fit a full game!
Nice job
Really liked the intro and the atmosphere and the story! This could definitely be turned into a full game. Love the visuals and the art direction of it all. A plus is that it also has sounds :)) Overall, very cozy and fun to play!
An interesting idea, and really nice pixel art. The spell casting was a bit unintuitive, but I figured it out. Unfortunately I could not figure out where to go. I killed all the enemies in the area, but could not find a door or anything to go through. I could see what looked like a checkpoint on an upper level, but I just couldn't find a path up. The platforms are also extremely dark, making seeing where you can jump up difficult.
Cool concept! I like the art and the gameplay loop. One bit of advice would be to maybe have a tutorial section or at least a section that is a bit easier in the beginning as I felt a bit overwhelmed at the start of the game lol. Other than that great work!
great art!
This game looks really good, with an interesting story behind it, too. But i think the platforms the player can walk on blend in too much with the background, I had to turn my brightness all the way up. Also, i suck at platformers (and video games in general), so I wasn't able to get far. But, the game was really good for the amount I played through.
I love the character and enemy designs in this
Thank you!
The graphics and sounds in this game are absolutely fantastic - they really draw you in and make the game world come alive. That being said, I did feel like the player mechanics could be improved a bit.
I really enjoyed the art in the game and the theme, but I felt lost. I played through the starting area twice because I did not realize there were spells the first time. I did not know how to progress or if I had reached the end of the game. The controls say to use "S" to go though doors, but I did not find any doors to open (if there were any). Would like a full screen option because I kept clicking out of the window when trying to cast spells.
Fair enough. I think I left it a little *too* open to discovery controls wise but ah well. There's one door- right at the end
Nice art style its impressive and the game is awesome
You nailed the atmosphere, I only wish you added some fog and dark horror sounds as a BGM. It would've been so haunting. Good game in general.
I wanted to add fog in the beginning, but didn't really have time to and by the time I would've it was 4 hours before submission, 1 AM, and I had forgotten about it lol. Thank you!
Very nice game! I found the movement a bit jittery, and combat got a bi ttoo overwhelming when the enemies shoot through the walls. Otherwise, nice game.
Thank you! Yeah- movement on platforms is a little jank but oh well
The art and sound are very awesome, I like your game.
Thank you!
Incredible pixelart and sounds! Was a little difficult to control and had a hard time telling whether or not I was hitting the enemies. I died a lot lol. Great job!
