Please share with us the connection your game has with the theme "Tough Choice"?
RULEPLAY has a very distinct system of altering rules throughout the course of the game. This is presented as a choice of two options, each having a positive and negative rule. Not only that, but players must be wise while playing this game in the factor of choosing which cards to play. And no, this isn't a gambling game. Hate to spoil it, but there's another VERY tough choice at the end of the game.

Did you use any third party assets like art or music? If so, which ones?
No, I made my own assets.

Oh no, it’s as if Balatro and Inscryption had a baby game, how could I not love this? The aesthetics, the atmosphere and the gameplay are top notch for a jam game. If you’re looking for feedback for a post-jam version, having the rules more clear for people not familiar with Fool would be welcome. I also agree with what others said, that the UI should be clearer — highlighting playable cards could even be something the player can enable/disable for immersion’s sake. Super impressive entry, please keep working on it!

Finally someone saw the Inscryption feel that I was aiming for. Glad you enjoyed the game!

I somehow managed to get same pair of cards of the hand that i won on: table, in my hands and in discarded heap.

Zoom was nice touch.

Love the aesthetic and i guess card games arent easy to make so congrats on making it work!

This may be the result of either you modifying the rules through the course of the game (Rules such as replica or replace or useful 6), or it may be due to a rare glitch where the system picks the same card multiple times when drawing. This glitch is very rare, so its most likely the rules.

The game art and atmosphere feel really nice, reminding me old time video games. It's nice that you could do the art all by yourself, overall it looks nice aside a few issues, it's quite good.
The game itself is nice to play though it's a bit slow once you understand the mechanics. If you will continue the development you could have an in-game option to speed up the gameplay.

About improvements that can be done:
- When a card is on the table or is part of the displayed trump suit, it's difficult to distinguish spades from clubs, the difference could have been done more marked.
- The Take button doesn't disappear once played a card that beats the opponent. Unless I misunderstood the rule, that shouldn't be possible. I was tricked to take cards that I didn't have to take... :-D
- There is no explanation about the new additional rules, so while I can guess what they could do, choosing between them is something that you have to learn while playing, so it's not much a meaningful choice.
- I would highlight only the cards that can be played, you have anyway already in place the function to check that, so call id directly when the mouse is hovering your hand to help speed up the game and beginner players.

I noticed also that the opponent has his right hand on his left arm. Is that on purpose? :-D

Overall well done, I can see it as nice solitaire game to have to play when you have time, but with the option to increase the speed and delay waiting times.

Yea, I've noticed these issues as well. See, I didn't have 10 days, I had 9, and some features I just didn't have the time to integrate, such as the explanation of the rules. The take button still being visible after beating cards is a strange error, despite all the code checking out. Indeed, highlighting the playable cards would help very much, but may ruin the immersion just a tad bit less... immersive.
As for the hand, it is worth noting that the world is ending in the game. In fact, I'm gonna go Mojang mode and make any visually altering bugs features. From now on the only correct explanation for visual glitches is: The world is breaking. :P

But hey, thanks for the feedback! I'll try to integrate these suggestions into the game after the jam is over.

Hahaha, right, I think that the world is ending scenario would be great to add. You can have the character talk a bit of some strange things that happens, so it's another reason to keep the player hooked to the game. Don't give the same story every time, but just give a random story at each game, so the casual player can still come back for just one game because is curious to know some of the weird things that are happening there.

Nice game, I am sure you can complete it nicely. Probably would be played as mobile app too, just make sure that cards are well distinguishable on the small screen. :-)

This is a really cool card game! The retro style and effects give it an awesome overall vibe. I also appreciated if you had the option to skip the intro like you did in the tutorial—so i can jump into the action right away. The gameplay is straightforward and easy to learn, making it a great entry overall.

So impressed that you created all this in ten days.  Love a card strategy game.  So much depth and challenge here.  Definitely one of my favorite gams in this Jam.  I do agree that the intro was a little long, but that is my only nit pick.  Great game!

Nice looking game. And lovely to see a card game.

I found the intro very slow. I think getting faster to the game would've been nice.

Otherwise, cool little game. Good luck with the jam!

Nice work on audio and visuals, it's setting a nice atmosphere. I wish the tutorial was a bit shorter and some of the ui clearer. Still great overall.
