Fun, lovely idea. All missed her is showing our bullet count.
Yeah, I was running out of time by the end of the jam and so I had to cut off some basic features. Thanks for playing!
Really well made and polished game! I gave it a couple tries and got better each time, had a lot of fun, good job!
Thank you, I appreciate your kind words!
An excellent game, and a truly fascinating combination of genres. Good job!
Well, I tried to make the game more or less original. Thank you for playing Gargoyle Gambit!
Interesting idea. A little more difficult to track the ball and shoot back, but decent work.
I suppose I went a little bit overboard with all that shooting/dodging chaos on a screen. Anyway, thank you for playing!
very good engaging gameplay, i love that everything collides with everything. good job submitting this (•̀ᴗ•́ )و
Glad you liked this aspect of the game. Thank you for playing!
Nice! Love this idea and it is executed very well. My best score was 4110!
It's a slightly weird choice for a mix of genres, but I really liked the end result. Thank you for playing!
Super cool idea! I really see the potential with this, I feel like this can become a sick roguelike of some kind.
Well, who knows? Maybe one day. Thanks for playing!
My best score was 2305 lol, really good game. Easy to pick up and understand, very visually appealing and responsive, very well done in the time frame. Liked pretty much everything about it gameplay wise. Very polished and enjoyable.
Only downside for me was the theme, was it just the gargoyles taking damage as they were hit and losing health / decaying?
Thank you for playing! Regarding the interpretation of the theme: Gargoyles decaying by taking damage isn't the only thing that connects this game to an idea of "decay". Reaching a certain point in altitude will force gargoyles to destroy themselves with a 100% chance to spawn a big pile of rubble, which cannot be destroyed and will deal damage to the player if not avoided. As the game progresses this becomes even more of a challenge as failing to stop gargoyles from coming closer to the bottom of the screen will result in a very tough gaming environment where you basically have to dodge multiple rubbles at once. Also, there's a chance that decaying into rubble will happen anyway, regardless of how close the gargoyle is to the bottom of the screen. Thus, the name "Gargoyle Gambit" - Gargoyles come closer taking a risk of destruction, but at the same time they become deadlier. Hope that explains my vision of the correlation my game has to a theme of a jam.
The game is addicting, and I loved the art style. Loved how you combined pong and the shooter mechanics into a single game. Quite challenging too.
Great work. This is a well-polished game!
I'm glad you appreciated the style. I had some troubles drawing those gargoyles, my friend even told me he thought they were spiders...Thank you for your kind words!
They told me my score was not impressive :(
Jokes aside, this seems like a game that would be fun to master. You should experiment with having the difficulty and chaoticness of it all ramp up a lot more over time. It could become quite hectic and insanely engaging that way. The visuals are simple but they work for what they are, good job!
Hope that wasn't too offensive... Thank you for the feedback!
Fun addicting game, nice job!
Oh, my... Thank you for playing!
Ayo why is that so addicting loll. I love the combination of pong and shooter games. it's genuinely fun. and it's really polished for a gamejam. Probably one of the best made games in the jam I would say 🫡🫡
Thank you! I think that polishing a game is a really important element of a game jam, even as short one as we had. I had to sacrifice pushing out more content (like more enemy variations or power-ups, or variability in general), though. Tough choices, tough choices...
fun combination of games! also makes it surprisingly challenging to keep track of everything. fun stuff :D
Thank you. Glad you've found my game to be somewhat of your interest!
That's a really fun game. The best I could get is 2800. I never would have though of such a good combination of games!
Thank you! I really wanted to make a satisfying mix of genres, hope I managed to achieve at least a little bit of that.
Got 3000ish..

Good game
Well, you did. Thank you for playing!
I got 4830 score. I liked the concept it was pretty fun, would have liked more enemy variety and the screen gets a bit too full of enmies this late in.
Yep. Agree with you here, the screen gets flooded way too much and a wider range of enemies could probably make the game less stale. Thanks for checking out my game!
Awesome game. I loved the graphics and the depth involved with the bullets, the balls, the health, the thing the enemies drop on death, etc. Overall great game.
Thank you for playing! I tried to make the gameplay slightly more varied, wish I could do a little bit more, but I'm glad with the result anyway.
Nice fun game, interesting idea, I haven't seen the mix of space invaders and atari breakout before. I scored 2870 on a touchpad!
I should say, that's a really good score, considering you've played the game on a touchpad. Glad you liked it!
This is a tough one! It’s very fun to juggle between catching the ball and fighting enemies. Nice work!
Thank you for playing! I really struggled with setting a bar for a diffuculty and mixing the mechanics.
