Movement mechanics are neat and challenging with some nice visual elements as well. Dying in one hit is punishing but the level isn't that large so its not that much of a setback. I would have liked some background music during game play but as it is in development you can always add that later. A Good start, nice work!
Cool game. I like the movement.
The gameplay is a bit punishing for my own taste, but I know some people love difficult games.
Thanks for trying the game. I know it is a bit too hard, so I will add a few easier levels in the beginning.
Good stuff! Fun movement mechanic which honestly I haven't seen before. Sad there was no finish screen though - took me 5 attempts to get all the crystals only to end up without a nice reward ;)
Good job collecting all the crystals in only five attempts! Beating the dragon is hard. I am working on new levels now and they will be easier.
Good job! Fun to play and with a bit more polishing definitely a great game! Nice work! :)
Thanks! There is some polishing to do, it is only a prototype.
Music is good and I like the moment when you died, a small visual effect, cool!!
Thank you for playing! Happy you like the music and the short death sequence. I made the music myself with a harp in Garage Band.
I like the simplistic style and the movement was easy to nail.
I was able to finish it (I think), I got 26 crystals and killed all the enemies but there was no end screen. Flew around a while to see if I missed anything but couldn't figure out what to do.
Vertical screen made it quite hard to see where you're going but I guess that's part of the challenge.
It was enjoyable, I hope to see more!
Congratulation on finishing the game! Unfortunately there is a bug in the game so you will never reach the final scene. I agree that it is hard to see where you are going with the portait screen mode, but I think for mobile gamers it is preferable to landscape mode.
Interesting prototype. The movement was not clear from the start, I thought I was meant to flap my wings in order to move so going up was no problem (flapping left and right repeatedly). But moving from side to side was quite impossible.
Luckily I stumbled upon holding down the key, which teached me that I don't have to flap.
After that it played smoothly. It's still a tricky control scheme but that is part of the game and way better than the flapping I was trying to do ;P
Great job !
Thanks for writing! The movements are a little bit hard to explain in words, but it is important to understand that you need to hold the buttons for a smooth flight. On a mobile phone two button control schemes are perfect but on a desktop or laptop they might appear too simple.
Cool movements system. After collecting 26 crystal i just didn't know what to do, couldn't find any more. Nice music and sound design, but i think it would be better if you added few "movement" sounds and just play them at random
This is correct, there are 26 crystals, but due to a bug you will never reach the end. So good job in finishing the game, and thanks for helping me find the bug! I agree the sound effects are to simple. I prefer using generated sounds instead of sampled sounds, but I didn't have time to do that this time. The ZzFX sound effects engine works well for javascript games for example

Neat little game, and I always appreciate phaser games for being web native and snappy. I’m amused by how quickly you get kicked out of the game to the loading screen when you die :)
Phaser is great in that way, I agree. The reason behind the poor timing of the death sequence is just pure laziness :)
It was interesting I would have liked to see a reason to collect crystals.
I have an idea of extending the game into something more like an adventure game, and I would prefer to have smaller levels to make it more accessible for mobile gamers. Combining these two features is however not straightforward.
a fun game with cool mechanics! i wish it had a heart system instead of just insta-death since i'm bad at platformers, but i had a fun time playing nonetheless :)
I agree that the game is too hard, and I'm also bad at platformers. Right now it´s more a demo than a game and there is not really any balance in the difficulty. Happy you like it anyhow!
The mechanic is interesting. I think it would be more fun if you added level to this game in future development (if you plan to do so).
Yeah, I would like to add more levels and a story. My original idea was a story about someone escaping from hell, hence the name of the game.
Love the movement system, I don’t think I’ve seen that before. I can see the potential here!!
Thanks for the encouragement! The movement system is pretty new I guess but I actually stole it from another game, see below.
It's a very interesting movement system. I wonder what can be added to it making it more unique. Deserves more mechanics for sure.
There is a lot to be done with this two button mechanic, for example exchange the trident with a tennis racket that can repell bullets. Also the levels could be less linear, with a few types of weapons to pick up to fight different monsters.
Wow, the controls are really unusual, thanks to it we got an interesting and fresh gameplay :)
Thanks for your feed-back!
The unique controls and movement is definitely what makes this game stand out. It’s actually pretty interesting to tie movement and attacking to the same buttons. I’d love to see the idea be explored further here with more mechanics.
Good work!
Thanks Diego! It would be fun to explore the idea with a progress system such as different types of weapons.
Interesting moving system but no progress path for the player to folliw and learn in order to be more confortable with mechanics.
This is true. Unfortunately there was not enough time to make a path, but maybe in the future.
I would like to see this then! 😀
fun game would like to see more. I would also recommend to use the "A" and "D" mapping for the web version (i don't have arrow keys on a 60% keyboard), but ofc the focus is for mobile which this isn't an issue
Thanks trying my game! I had no idea there were computers without arrow keys. I will change the keys to A and D and consider expanding the game with more levels.
It's a very interesting movement system. It can get a bit slow if you have to go down, but the truth is, with that simplicity, it's quite fun to play. Very good job ^^
Happy you enjoyed it! Balancing the controls is not easy, but based on the feed-back the controls are not totally off. Ultimately I guess it is a matter of taste and the intended target group. Maybe the controls work for casual gamers but not for hardcore gamers.
I like the unique style of simple controls. Only two buttons and the right timing to get wherever you need. It was easy to pick up and play. The tile and character art are nice, and I like the subtle lighting effect around the player. Nice job.
Thanks for the feed-back! The main idea of the game is testing the controls. Happy you think they worked out all right. I didn't do the tiles myself - only the monsters - which are pretty basic.
