Tileset and pixel art were great.  I felt like I was colliding with the environment  in places where visually it seemed I should fit through.  I like your take on the theme and I enjoyed the music.  Well done.

I’m glad to see some music-related interpretations of the game. Great idea! The art style and sound design are great. I reviewed the comments and agreed with some of the feedback you’ve already received.

Personally, I would like the level design to be improved in this game later on. I had to find the information about the underpass at the beginning of the game here in the comments. It was impossible to identify just by looking at the scene. I also felt like there were a lot of dead ends where I needed to navigate to pick something up, just so I could backtrack to where I started.

Submitted

A bit too little paced for my liking. But the music UI was cool! Did you make the art yourself?

Cool! Good use of interpretation of the theme. Exploring the map and gradually unlocking new zones was good. I do agree with the other comments about the collisions but it looks like you have enough feedback about that so far. For a different piece of feedback it would be helpful to the player to have a more clear sign that some of those circular alter-like structures can be entered to go into a new map I got stuck on that for a little while when searching for where to go. Overall I liked it great job!

I found the game relaxing and peaceful. Glad I played it! Great job!

Neat & Chill game. Music was really good and the graphics were cool as well.

The game is very cute, and the idea seems original. Honestly, it's quite entertaining. Good job! ^^

It was a very nice experience. The visual effects such as the rain and the glow are harmonious and pleasant and create a good atmosphere. What I noticed: In the very first level, I didn't know how to get to the note in the far east until I accidentally found out that it's a bridge you can walk under. I think you'd have to mark it somehow with a path underneath or something, otherwise it's a bit frustrating. And as others have said, it lacks some sort of challenge to overcome.

Otherwise very good job, it was fun :)

Developer

Hi BigMaexle, thank you for playing and for the feedback! Adding a path underneath sounds very helpful

Excellent visuals and design for the game. The game has a lovely, relaxing feel to it. For feedback, it would be nice if it was a little more challenging, e.g. playing the notes in time or something. Excellent game!

Thank you for your feedback and for playing the game! Making the game more challenging is something I want to explore.

Very nice visuals and audio. The game is definitely a vibe. For feedback I'd say that the actual gameplay loop felt a little boring/repetetive to me

Developer

Yes I would like to implement other mechanics to make the game more exciting. Thank you for your feedback!

Nice job! that was a fun experience! The collision shapes could use some adjustment because there were alot of invisible walls i ran into, but i liked the idea and it was well executed. Great jam game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I will definitely work on the collisions and other mechanics.

I love the graphics of this game so much. I really like the background. The music is also really nice.

Your theme interpretation. Musical scales! I didn't even consider this and I am a musician. Great work. It was a nice surprise finding the clefs as well as notes.

I would love to see this developed with a narrative of some sort. I do think the walking could benefit from a run as well. It may also be a good idea to have a more explicit indication that the clef is the problem in certain melodies.

Great work.

Developer

I am glad you liked it! Thank you for the feedback and yes, definitely I want to expand the game with narrative and other mechanics.

Great looking game with a good fitting music track.
The gameplay is a bit too slow paced for my liking and I'm not sure if you can see from the get go which key you need to use or if it is just trial and error by placing one note in a key and seeing of you hit it.

First game I really saw usng the musical scales as a theme.

Congrats on your game !

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! You are right, the gameplay is also very slow for my liking but I did not have the time to implement other mechanics like enemies. Definitely something to work in the future.

I was wondering if some folks would take the music route with the theme, cool!  Wondering it Ocarina of Time was the inspiration for the staff :).  Also, I really like the addition of ambient sounds (storm) for the ambiance.  I think that could could be doubled down on with stuff like cloud shadows, etc., but your color scheme fits it nicely as is!

On the technical side, the colliders were a little wonky, and I am not sure how, but I got stuck and couldn't walk anywhere in this spot:

I recognized GameEndeavor in your credits, and I've watched some of his Godot videos, so cool to see that too. Cool game!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback and of course Ocarina of Time was an inspiration, is such a great game!

this game is so fun and endearing! i had a bit of a hard time figuring out how to get the note on the other side of the bridge in the first level and also figuring out i was meant to drag down the treble clef, but aside from that, i felt everything progressed really smoothly. i really loved experiencing the world you created!

I am glad that you liked it zorkie, thank you for playing and for the feedback!

Music and graphics were good but level design needs more work. Under bridge paths were not clear and there was a lot of backtracking.  Core game mechanic was simple but could enchanted more given time. I did not find any connection with the theme "Scale" but maybe it is also a music term.

Developer

Thank you very much for playing and for the feedback. About the theme of the jam, I opted for musical scales.

Ah that makes sense. I improved my rating for theme. This is such a unique  way to use the theme.

Beautiful and relaxing little game, really enjoyed playing through it.

BTW I think there is a breaking bug that allows the player to finish the game with just a single note instead of 6. Once you place a note on the music sheet, if you drag it to the last colored note on the right, it will return the note down but wherever it was placed on the sheet stays blank and counts for a note. Repeat the process and press play to go through.

Developer

Thank you very much for playing and for the bug report! It was a very good finding.

A super relaxing game with a nice atmosphere.

Developer

Thank you very much for playing!

Love the rainy atmosphere, the art + music go with that well. Level design/layout was great as well. The gameplay was smooth, no bugs or anything. I was a little confused on when to use the different scales, is there a way to tell without placing the notes first? Nice job!

Developer

Thank you for playing the game. Currently there is no way to know which scale to use without placing a note but it is great feedback, thank you!
