A really fun and polished tower defense game! I really like the creative design of allowing the player character to fight alongside cannons, which keeps me busy and engaged in both stages of preparation and fighting. I didn't expect the damage of enemies to be that high in the beginning, but it encourages me to retry and explore more! Great game.
An interesting take on the jam theme and a tower defence game! The graphics and animations were nice - I really like the suggestion from someone below me to include new scenes and backgrounds - appreciate that would be a future thing and not something you could get done in the time frame of the jam!
Pretty robust implementation of a tower defense game for the allotted time! I like the interactivity of the player character alongside the standard tower defense elements as in games like Sanctum - keeps the actual wave phases pretty interesting. The sprites themselves also look pretty good, and I like that the muted color palette was consistent across most of the gameplay elements.
I think a few additions to the UI could help with gameplay - maybe take some of the descriptions from the tutorial and add them to the hover details for each of the towers? Found myself forgetting early on the effect of each tower, though it wasn't too much of an issue. There were also a few instances where I felt like the player was taking damage from an unknown source, but I might have been missing a mechanic somewhere in there.
The music was also pretty banging. Good job on the entry! :)
Nice game, Made it till wave 20 before the game decided to freeze.
The menus were in random places for me (I'm using firefox).
Some suggestions:
A wave preparation skip would be nice
Some way to regenerate health
Nerf the shock towers
Different Scenes/Backgrounds maybe
i like the tower defense game , but i think the scaling wave need have a skip wave for more challenging and the graphic is good , but overall nice job :D
Game very good. Nice work. I love tower defense and I loved playing as the main character during waves of this game. I had some difficulty understanding what each build can do the first time. I had to try it a few times to understand what I could do.
I really like the core concept of this game, I used to play a lot of tower defense games when I was younger, but being able to control a character myself and face off enemies as they come is quite refreshing, I love it! 😃
While the core itself is quite interesting on its own, I do think that it needs more time to make a proper execution. This project is a demonstration of what could become a great game with more time and dedication. The combat could be better thought out, as right now, you can just move and attack; there's no way to deflect or evade attacks, making it too simple at the moment to be really relevant in the big picture.
Keep working on this project, this is a rough gem that I want to see evolve some day into a full diamond! 😁
Overall the game is fun, it's a classic tower defense game with free positioning building. There are many bugs (yeah, no one else said this in other comments, lol sorry).
I reached wave see below, it keeps getting higher on my first run, so here a list of the things i found a bit odd:
- Economy is a bit skewed, i always run out of the basic resource (copper?) but had TON of the other 2. Maybe reducing the quantity given for each node but remove the depletion would fix this and also add a layer of strategy to the game: protecting the drills so you don't run out of resources.
- Shock towers are overpowerd on so many levels, with just 3 or 4 you can lock in place an entire wave. Just spammed them everywhere and the game became a wallpaper.
- No button for skipping the cooldown between waves. Wanted to see my base overflow.
- Walking between buildings is difficult and get stuck everywhere.
- I understand the logic between not placing turrets near each other, but walls are useless this way (especially with the broken shock towers).
- In game menus for some reason are all over the place (using firefox)
- I do not feel at all the scaling of the waves, the increase are too little to notice.
- I had to play on a smaller window, as if i increased the dimension over a threshold, everything turns black.
I know they might look like a lot of negative points, but the core game is enjoyable. I really like this kind of games where you can place freely buildings, strategize, gaining resources and keep expanding your base. This game check all of those boxes.
P.s. started writing when the game was at wave 39, now it's at 68 and still going strong. Did not touch the game at all :D

I have never tried it on Firefox, and also never encountered the black boxes bug lol ig I’ll look into that.. the ultimate plan was to improve the build system and flexibility with building placement, but due to lack of time we had to have space between towers as our enemy ai could break without it. I also agree that the resources need more balancing. Thx for playing!
Cool idea for a game. Would love to see some more variety in the towers and enemies. Your music went very hard and I appreciated the frantic feel of the game. I am curious what your link to the theme of the jam is.

A lot to this game for it being done in a month! I like that your character gets to take part in the defense instead of just watching everything burn LOL. Few bugs (excuse the pun), but they were minor and didn't affect playing the game.

nice mix of genres. Does the tutorial supposed to go over building structures? I am not sure how to rotate walls lol
cool game, I like the art style, forgot to build a mining drill so I run out of material very fast
