Impressive scale on the world for a game jam entry! The modeling and world design was definitely reminiscent of older Nintendo games and was overall well composed. Menuing and interaction with elements in the world worked pretty well for the most part. As others have indicated, inputs felt somewhat difficult to execute, but the movement itself was satisfying and not overly floaty. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the feedback! We'll be working on improving the inputs

Nice! Got all of the power scales.
The small scale open world was nice to explore. I don't know what John Wick did to the village to be wanted Dead or Alive.

A few things that can improve this game:

- Camera near clip collision ( I could see through walls and objects)

- More vivid color palette

- Shadows or Ambient Occlusion

Crazy, I was crazy once

Wow, a 100% player! 😮

It really makes our team proud to see other jammers completing everything that we had to offer, thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts! 😄

Now that we don't have a time limit, we'll be working towards the areas that you mention, thank you for your feedback!

Submitted(+3)

this is a very impressive sized game. it was also pretty well polished, such as menus and things. good job, i had fun playing!

Developer(+1)

You could say that you didn't expect the scale of this project hehehe 😆 (I'm not really sorry for that pun tbh)

Thank you for playing our game! 😁

Wow such a big world to explore! And it all felt very polished as well. I did find the wall jump a bit frustrating to land sometimes but everything else was very smooth. Also a very big fan of the art style and shading, on the concrete tile blocks especially I found the shading really popped and made things look great. Did find the music a bit repetitive after awhile, but probably that's more to do with how much time I was able to spend playing

Developer

Thank you for your kind words, we really appreciate them! 😄

I agree, the wall-jump is a bit frustrating at times, but we didn't have time to implement it properly, I guarantee that it will be better implemented in the near future. We'll also implement more music tracks so the main theme doesn't get as repetitive! 😊

Awesome game! Loved the visuals and music. I was getting a bit of lag and framerate drops but otherwise super impressive!

Developer(+1)

Sorry to hear about the FPS drops, we tried to optimize the game but there are still some areas that need more love in that aspect 😔

If it's of any help, you can set a lower resolution and texture quality in the Settings menu, it really helps my old laptop to keep a respectable framerate in the most demanding areas of the game!

Thank you for playing 😄

Submitted(+1)

Thanks for the follow up! I'll give lowering res down a shot!

Submitted(+3)

Thats impressive amount of work!

Something felt not right with camera angles. When I raized it I could see so little ahead of me that it was better to just stay in middle to low height. But I guess that angle served purrpose off looking down.

Developer

Thank you for playing!

The camera was a little weird sometimes, we'll be looking into that for future revisions of the game 😊

This is very nice, and a clearly a lot of work in there.  The art in the town is great!  Also the music fits really well.  I see the Mario 64 move set coming into play :).  Only thing I think could use a little attention is the player controller.  Just small things like the Olympic jump seemed a little weird and sudden, and you have to look down to grow the item under you, that sorta stuff.

One of those games that's easy to keep playing, nice work!

Developer

Thank you for stopping by! 😊

Mario 64 was a huge inspiration for this project, glad you noticed it! We want to keep improving the game feel around controls, making them tighter and better to use, stay tuned for future updates! 😃

Game reminds me of early 3d platformers like spyro actually, which is pretty cool. Did you know that if you fall inside the great tree though that you're basically down there forever dying over and over again? Haha I didn't. The controls are tight enough to get anywhere you need to though and the bright cheery colors help sell the whole adventure. The townsfolk are helpful as well. Especially the the one who went crazy once... Haha I got the ref. By the way, the game is more than serviceable on keyboard and mouse, which I used. I did experience a small stutter at the very beginning of the game with frames, but after that, nothing. Just wanted to chime in because I saw someone else commenting on it. Really cool game!

Developer

We definitely didn't know about the tree zone bug. We will definitely patch that for future versions. Would you mind sharing with us the steps to reproduce that bug please?

And thank you for your kind words, it really makes us proud of our game! 😄

Any time I fell and touched the walls at all on my way down, it would continue to respawn me at the bottom of the pit. If it helps I'm AMD windows 10.

Developer

Thank you for your help! We'll try to reproduce it and fix it!

I like the variety that this game offers with its mechanics, as well as the 3d platformer environment that reminds me of games like Psychonauts. Some of the moves were quite hard to execute, but I think this game has a lot of potential. Great work!

Developer

Thank you for your kind comments! We want to update some of the moves to make them a little easier 😊

Great game! It's a really ambitious project for the time frame given to make it(at least as far as I know as a newbie dev) but you guys killed it!

Developer

Thanks for your comment! We now maybe it's so ambitious for just a jam, so, we think this jam was an opportunity to make the beggining of a serious project. We're going to update after the voting process with more content for people who liked it, so if you want, you can check it too <33

An enjoyable platformer! The gameplay and size scaling were a lot of fun. It was held back fairly significantly by consistent lag, though since I don't see anyone else in the comments mentioning it, so I'll assume it was just something on my end.  However, it's odd that I'm the only one given I have a fairly high end computer.

All in all, I had fun. Thanks for the fun game!

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Wr didn't have to to fully optmize the game, so it's completely possible that some zones are less stable than others. You can adjust the resolution and texture quality in the main menu, it's helped me to debug some parts in my lower end laptop.

Developer

Would you mind sharing your PC specs with us? CPU model, GPU model and GBs of RAM

Submitted(+2)

Loved it fun game the big wall was a bit to hard to get over in the beginning.

Submitted(+1)

So I tried your game as well :)

It's strange, the game screen began offset (I could only see half the game screen). I could correct this by going in settings and playing in windowed

Overall, I like it! The graphics are colorful (which is always nice), there are many controls

And indeed, it's like we shared the same team but we came up with 2 differents ideas :D

Congratulations!! :)

What an ambitious game for a game jam! I can tell a whole bunch of hard work and passion were put into it. I found the lateral jump to be a little unintuitive, but I eventually got it.

The Spiro vibes are definitely present.

Not sure how long this takes to beat, but it gives me the vibe that there is a full story to uncover.

Cool game! The team should be proud.

Developer

Every time we read feedback like this we become even more proud, thank you for playing!

We want to keep developing this game, so expect more polishing around the lateral jump in the near future 😊

Developer(+1)

So much thanks for your feedback! Trully, it was so ambitious, but here we are, making something crazy for a jam 🤪

Submitted(+3)

The variety in player controls is captivating! Nice game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks!!

Developer(+1)

And we're missing some more stuff that we didn't have time to implement! We will be publishing new releases after reading all the feedback this month, stay tuned!

Submitted(+3)

Wow what an advanced and in depth game I'm surprised but what you all managed to accomplish this jam. Especially the open world environment was really cool. Game me spiro vibes. The only thing I could fault is it seemed like it was lacking in sound effects a bit

Developer

Thank you for your comment! I gotta say that Spyro was not our main inspiration, but platformers from the early 3D have heavily inspired us with this project hehehe 😄

We want to keep updating this game, so adding more SFX is granted for future versions, thank you for playing!

Submitted(+3)

Totally giving merlin vibes with the music and the world settings. All mechanics is well made and the environment looks very beautiful.

Developer

So much thanks for your comment!

Submitted(+3)

Very cool love the forest, so much effort has gone into this well done!

Developer(+2)

Thank you! This was our first time doing a game of this scale (pun intended heh) and we are really happy with the final result 😊

Submitted(+2)

thats awesome you did a great job!

Submitted(+3)

Wow! Extremely well done for only having a month to make. Great visuals, solid gameplay as well!

Developer(+1)

So much thanks for your comment!!

Developer(+2)

Thank you very much! Those are precisely the aspects that we polished the most for this jam, glad it shows! 😃
