This submission has a great atmosphere and solid gameplay. Including more devastating weapons/upgrades and enhancing enemy progression would make it even better!
Thanks! I totally agree with your suggestions
One of my favorite games so far. Nice work.
Amazing game! Absolutely loved the atmosphere you created with the audio and graphics. The gameplay was very addictive too :)
Thanks! Along with making the game visually appealing, my goal was addictive gameplay
Fantastic! Very fun! I love the gameplay of keeping DPS on the boss while getting swarmed. The AI was prefect enough to box you in but not take cheap shots. The color palette is perfect. Really inspiring me to keep on tinkering with Gdevelop.
Thanks! I'm happy you liked it. Also happy to hear you want to try out Gdevelop. I hate programming and that's a big reason why I love Gdevelop. It also makes certain things like creating a player controller for platformers stupid easy. I wouldn't recommend it for super complex games, but for small projects like jam games I'd say it's perfect.
I could keep playing this keep it up!
Thanks! Replayability was a goal of mine
Well done on the graphics! Everything looks awesome and feels very polished. I didn’t make it super far because I’m not great at this kind of game, but it was still a lot of fun. Great job!
Nice game and awesome artwork dude
Love the style and polish of this game. Great music, sfx and visuals. The gameplay itself is also solid. I chose the attack ability for every level.
Thank you! I tend to go for that attack oriented abilities too. If I was to spend more time on this, I'd definitely make balancing the upgrades a priority.
Really solid presentation, the graphics and audio play well together. The attacks and effects were also really visually appealing. My biggest feedback is that the enemies seemed to be way too much of a bullet sponge as even the simplest enemies would take many shots to kill. This made the gameplay feel more like a slog than what would probably be ideal for this type of game. Otherwise it's really solid top down shooter/bullet hell game so great job!
Thanks for the compliments and feedback! I totally agree the enemies are a slog to kill in this version. I had done most of my testing with a high fire rate which helped me cut through them quickly. My intent was to allow players to also get a high fire rate through upgrades, but due to a last minute error on my part it won't appear as an option in this build. Whoops. Maybe I should've made the base fire rate higher though.
Nice Cover, Nice Game
Incredible work! The visual effects are stunning, and I love the art style in the game. It's hard to imagine it was completed in such a short time, Good job!
Thanks! Most of the development time was spent on art, so it better be good.
Gorgeous pixel art! Wow, beautiful game. Had a blast playing this. Quite tough though.
Amazing work!
Thanks! I thought the art turned out pretty decent too. Also, I do have tendency to make my games tough. It probably would've been even harder if I had the time to design more enemies and mechanics for them.
Although simple, this is easily one of the most well-executed games I've played in this jam. Beautiful graphics, beautiful gameplay, and really good balance too!
Thanks! Good to hear you liked it despite how simple it is. There's a lot I didn't get to do with this game that I had planned. But I guess it's fine in the state it's in because people seem to be enjoying it
The font stye in the page and the look of the game combined make for a very visually captivating mix, there's so much going on visually and the gameplay is really good!
Thanks! Visual flare was my main goal so a lot of development was spent drawing. The word art was done last minute though so it's pretty much just cool open-source fonts I had saved, which are Mandolarian for the tribal looking letters and "Excluded" by Foyez Uddin.
Awesome Work! I'll make a point look into some of the other games you've developed... You have a good eye for detail and style!
I like the color tone in this game. It is very well consistence. The sound effects are also nice.
Thanks! I mostly stuck with my slightly modified version of this palette made by Ryosuke: https://lospec.com/palette-list/deep-maze. Pulling palettes from Lospec is something I'll do often for pixel art jam projects. The sound effects were mainly made with chiptone: https://sfbgames.itch.io/chiptone. That's another thing I like to use for jams
Really nice game! I just can't play the game because when i press "P", the game doesnt launch for some reason. But good game!
I appreciate the compliment! My theory for why you couldn't launch the game is that you clicked somewhere on the page outside the game before pressing P, and so it didn't register. If that is the case, that's my bad. I blended the game's background with the page's background. If I had the time, I would've made it a button to start the game rather than a key press to avoid that along with giving it the same polish the level up screen has.
This is a really impressive game! The art style is awesome, and there is a ton of content / depth to the mechanics for a game made in such a short span of time. Really awesome work!
Thanks! It doesn't have near as much content as I would've liked, but it's nice to hear that what is there is satisfying
Wow, I really enjoyed this! Love the leveling up aspect and the art was top notch.
Thank you! Art and power fantasy was my primary focus for this one
Awesome submission! The graphics are beautiful. everything feels really polished. :D love my self a goblin girl
Thanks! Always good to hear that a fellow goblin lover is pleased with my work
