I got stuck at the 6 mirror one, maybe I'm just being dumb.
Huge amount of work both in art and programming, nicely done.

Reminded me of the old game Rick Dangerous.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Nah, you're not dumb. I just need to design the puzzles better so the puzzles are more intuitive so you can feel clever!

Submitted(+1)

I've had some hints from people now so will retry!

Nice puzzle game! I liked the Indiana Jones visual style and the gameplay.

I will just add some few tips: I think that the message about getting stuck could be shown less often, and not always be on the screen. Also, I found a bug that I got stuck in the penultimate mirror to the gold (in the first phase).

Developer(+1)

Oh? The stuck message got stuck? It should only appear in stage 6. Strange! Sorry you experienced a bug. My pathfinder script could use work and I've seen folks get bugs but I haven't been able to reproduce. I suspect it's related to dropped frames, but I'm entirely not sure lol.

Thanks for playing and the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

No, the player got stuck. I took a printscreen of it, maybe it can help (all the mirrors was reflecting gold, but if the path was incorrect pls tell me):

Developer(+1)

That's definitely the correct solution. I still haven't figured out why he gets stuck sometimes, but if you retried that solution, it should work. Thanks for the screenshot though! That helps a lot!

Developer(+1)

I managed to fix this bug and upload a fixed version. Thought I'd let you know in case you'd like to try again!

Nice! I'll play it soon! :)

Cool! First game I've seen that I'd quite like to look into the source code - particularly to see how you did the puzzle logic.

Speaking of which, it took a few pokes at my gamejam crunched out braincells to work out which way the explorer was gonna go but enjoyed completing this one!

Great concept, enjoyed it a lot.

Developer

Ahh! My solution was super sloppy. I'm sure it could be improved with more learning.

Thanks for playing!

By far, this is the game I've spent most time enjoying. The puzzles were quite clever and I enjoyed the experimentation that was required. This would be fun on mobile.  Aesthetically I would have liked to see a little more variety but overall this is a job well done!

Developer(+1)

Agreed! I should have spent more time on replacing my placeholder art that I deemed 'good enough' when submission got close. I spent that time having fun making the splash screen instead lol. Thanks for checking it out and thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated!

Submitted(+1)

sweet little puzzle game :)

(+1)

Really enjoyed this one, the thing is, you tell people how to play your game, and that's huge! Felt the mood of the game was really good, just wish the art was a little more polished. Great work, keep it up!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking it out! Yeah, I feel like I put way more time into the splash/start screen than I did the actual assets. A lot of them are placeholder that I tried to remake later and didn't like anything I made. Thanks for the feedback :)

Dude keep it up!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game and concept. Interesting game mechanic with him heading towards nearest path he could see.
I found the First one after the tutorials really hard. I nearly gave up. But i finally preserved and managed it :). Took me a bit to get my eye in and work out how his vision works.
Perhaps path showing element showing what he can see would be helpful, but i'm not sure how that'd be implemented. In the end it was an extra challenge for me to work out.
Love the banner and art work.
Well done! :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for sticking with it! Yeah, I considered some sort of indicator, but I also wanted to encourage players to experiment through trial and error instead of placing everything until it was perfect. I guess I failed at that part though lol. Thanks for the comments!

Submitted(+1)

nah i'd say it was a success, as i did keep going working it out. :)

Great job with the difficulty curve and execution, definitely avoided the pitfall of being too hard too fast. Being able to remove a mirror you placed without hitting restart would be convenient.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! The mirrors you place should be removeable by clicking them again, but you can't remove mirrors that start in the levels. I should have made those use a different sprite, but I forgot. Thanks for checking out the game! :)

Submitted(+2)

Fun puzzle game but I do not like it if you fail the entire level restart.

Developer

Noted! I had hoped that the small time investment to set up mirrors would make failing a level feel less bad, but perhaps I could add 'ghost' mirrors to show where you last placed them to help alleviate some of the reliance on player memory. Good feedback! :)

Submitted(+1)

It is a goodgame, but it have some weird bugs. I got stuck in some weird ways, in some stages.

(+1)

I liked your game very much. I like puzzle games. I finished all the stages. I had a little trouble at first trying to understand how the game works. Maybe to add some instructions in the opening screen.

Developer

Guess I have to work more on the opening levels. I had hoped the on-screen text would be enough, but I can do better. Thanks for the feedback :)

Submitted(+1)

Fun and engaging, I like the idea with waypoints that can be seen if player is on the same row/col.

Cool idea and concept. Good job :)

Submitted(+1)

I liked this, it was fun but I had to stop playing due to "getting stuck" problems with the waypoints.

Developer

I'm sorry to hear that! I had a few playtesters encounter pathing issues, but I couldn't reproduce them to try to solve. Woe is the jammer. Sorry you got stuck, but thanks for checking it out and thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Fun!

Lots of great puzzles that build on the previous levels. Very forgiving gameplay.

I would love to see moving platforms or timed traps that effect when you should decide to let the treasure hunter go.

Developer(+1)

I would have loved to do more, but I did not make the most of two weeks. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

That's really cool. I loved it

Very fun concept, showed it to my friends and they said it is pretty challenging  :)

Submitted(+1)

Clean game overal. It gets pretty challenging at a certain point. Nice work.

Developer(+1)

I'm so happy to hear that! I learned that puzzle games are especially challenging to design because you already know the solutions. I had a few playtesters, but not enough to know if it was appropriately challenging.

Submitted

I can imagine them being pretty challenging to balance out. I like the concept.

Fun puzzle game.

Submitted(+1)
