Great Idea :D

Developer

Thank you soo much for playing! I haven't yet played your game, but I will do it in a moment and provide the best feedback I can ! :D

I liked the movimentations, and how easy is escape from hollows. I missed sounds, and the music.

Developer

Thanks for playing! We all missed the music, I think it was super important to add to set up the mood :)

Personally, I like the speed of the character because it feels more like a speedrunning game where you die a lot before you can find the end. I liked this labyrinthine game.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! We added more ghosts in the end to give that kind of feeling :)

Nice idea on the game. I enjoyed it. I did however have 2 issues. The first one was that I changed dimensions in a room in the upper left and ended up on top the world level and fell out of the world endlessly. Then I felt like the overall speed of the ghost was too fast. I kept missing platforms by overshooting and what felt like a slide. I think just decrease the speed a bit and tightening up the jump a bit would make the character feel so much more responsive and fun. This is my opinion. The overall game play was fun and did really enjoy the dimension shift to get to other areas of the map.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing :) We need to change the speed of the character, we're just waiting for the voting to end :) Since it is not game breaking bug :)

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Difficult little game. I love it as it shows the importance of planning out your game and it is clear you guys did that! So good job! I wish there were checkpoints at the dimension rooms as that would enable us to continue in the event of our early passing but I think it is cool! I did find the jitter movement hard to adjust to but I liked it and I cannot wait to see what else you guys make!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Oh, good idea! We haven't thought of checkpoints! That is actually a must to have! Thanks for playing! :)

What a challenge! I really dug the dynamic aesthetic of your game, and the straightforward control scheme. I also really like that it is a genuine maze. The first time I avoided multiple ghosts just to come to a dead-end, I was like, “Ooooohhhh ffffuuuuuuuuu!” Great stuff, and a nice classic feel.

Developer(+1)

Thanks you're too kind :) I really enjoyed that you liked our game. Your game is on my top 3 :D Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I like how the background looks. The player character is a bit too fast for me. How you make the stage like a maze is interesting. Wish there was some audio.

Good job on the game.

Developer

We should change the speed of the character as we should add music and sound effects, on newer versions :)

Thanks for playing! You are very kind! I really dig you're professor game :)

I like platformer, but this is so fast that i didn't get far.

sometimes when jumping to the wall the character clings to it when holding horizontal control (half-implemented wall climbing?). The jump seems to modify horizontal movement as well.

The ghost changing expression is a nice warning, though i can't stop on time and hit them anyway.

Developer

I tried my best to animate the ghost hehe! I'm not an artist, but I'm starting to use aseprite more often :)

The cling to wall was a feature we added but  didn't continue on developing, sadly now it just looks glitchy

Thanks a lot for playing!

I liked the vibes, and the art style reminded me of something retro I would have played on an old PC back in the day. (In a good way!) The player movement felt a little off to me, and I think I might have had more fun if I could dimension switch anywhere, rather than in specific rooms. Good work in a short period of time!

Developer

Thanks your words are inspiring! :) Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Cool mechanic! It would've been nice to have some way of killing the enemies, but I had a great time flipping between the dimensions. I liked the gothic art vibes I was getting from the dark dimensions.  I didn't manage to beat it but I am very bad at platformers so 🤷‍♀️

Developer(+1)

We had code for 2 weapons! Sadly we didn't use it. Maybe next time :)
Thanks for playing!

Good job creating your own assets. Movement needs some tuning, I found it hard to control. Great job, it's not easy to make a project of any size in 10 days.

Developer

Thanks a lot for your words! You're right about the movement, we will try to fix it in upcoming versions!

Submitted(+1)

I see, the cover image had me thinking you'd be attacking ghosts, but you ran into some unexpected hurdles during development. But despite that, you pulled through and made a working, challenging game with some charming aesthetics! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your amazing feedback!

Regarding the game type, we had to change it to a survival game on the last day due to resource management. We were expecting to build an RPG with 2 weapons, one that froze the ghosts and another that captured like ghost-busters style.

Thanks for playing!

Reminded me of the Super Mario World haunted house levels. Fun vibe. Kinda tough to avoid the ghosts but I did manage to beat it. Wish there was some audio. Nice job though!

Developer

Audio and music would add the chills and vibe that we needed! Absolutely fundamental to add on the next versions! Thanks for playing :)

I'm glad someone reminded the Super Mario World haunted house levels :D

Submitted(+1)

Nice job. I really like how fast the movement is. And great job with the theme!

Developer(+1)

Perfect! Thank you! Some things need to be polished but I'm glad you enjoyed what we had to show :)

Submitted(+1)

Well I really like the game art used in the game they really pop and the logic used for ghosts (really nice pathfinding), the levels are well designed good work on that the controls are a little bit off it's taking time to get used but otherwise this is a good foundation to a full game good job guys I enjoyed the game.

Developer

Thank you ! I love the support you guys are giving us even though we had to pivot the game concept ! There are no words to describe the love and affection you have for you guys! Thanks a lot! <3

You are welcome :D

Good job for creating the world! The movement needs polish, and also the placement of enemies is often just frustrating. Overall, an ok work

Developer(+1)

You're right about the ghost placement! Since we had no time and only a small level we aimed for a survival type (harder than usual), so people would have to replay it until success, but maybe it was a failure on our side? :)

Thanks a lot for playing!

Submitted

nah not a failure! Just think about it a little more to make it more interesting! It's a detail, but solving it adds something to the game. Nice done!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Very well done! The dungeon is huge, good job in creating the level in the little time we had. :) Considering you created the assets yourselves is even more impressive.

Great job!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing! You're most kind! :)

Submitted(+1)

Wow you move fast, is that intentional? And you created all the assets yourselves? Amazing!

Developer

It was intentional for the type of game that we wanted to develop (an RPG), but we ended up going for the survival type. Also, yes we made the assets :)

Thanks for playing!

You have done a great job.  Great base for a full game.  Congratulations!
