The art looks great from the screenshots but I can't play it on mac ):

Developer(+1)

sorry about that.  I wouldn't be able to test it on Mac but maybe it can still be built?  I'll check into it

I'm on a mac, the web version should work on all devices that have access to a browser. If it's running slowly on your end though, then it might have to do with the type of browser you're using. For example, Firefox tends to run browser games slower than chrome

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, the web version works for me(: I don't think it was there at first though, so that's why I was asking.

Funky music and great gameplay! My favorite level by far was the one where you had to explore the map for some bit (the third one I think).

Developer

Thank you!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Liked the mechanics and the strategy behind clearing each level, and it looks great - very nice job on the game!

Developer

thank you so much.

I loved the parody narrative! Also, i think your game might be the first one i played this jam where the player IS the threat forcing others into a last stand, so kudos for that!

I think the projectiles were well done, having the illumination shader on them matched the theme of you being a candle!

And i echo the other gameplay sentiments mentioned by others (variation of spawn pos and types etc)

Solid entry!

Developer

thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Over wall it was ok. After the awhile I stopped playing. I think there was a serious lack of challenge.

Developer

Thanks for playing still. and thank you for the feedback!

Great character design, love the music! Someone contact Keanu Reeves for the live action movie version, I need him in a candle costume XD

Awesome job!

Thanks for playing!!

Great art and character design.

Gameplay was simple and fun, enemy spawns could be a little more varied - I also found my self spawn camping the triggers.

liked the sound choice too.

Great job and good luck <3

Great SFX and music, I particularly like the sound of the bullets hitting the wall. The game is really fluid and fun, I'm glad you added the story and the cute hamster at the end :P

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it!

James wick is so hot. I think you've done a lot with some very simple mechanics. Just when I thought it was getting easy you throw the black and red checker room at me. Excellent. Really enjoyed the music and the animations.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! and thanks for playing!

Great play on words! You also made the game pace really match with the theme of the game as well. This is definitely a game I could play a few times. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I appreciate it. I'll check out your game very soon

Hamster saved!

I really like the aesthetics, especially the 'glow' effect around the player. (Which, of course he'd have one, being a lit candle at all.) And also his swagger as he moves around, plus the sunglasses!

I found that the game slowed down a lot if I rushed past a spawn point or two and a lot of enemies spawned at once.

I really appreciate a full health restore between floors, I finished most of them on one health (or flame?) out of three. I only died once, when I got too confident and ignored a really convenient choke point.

For a sequel, I wouldn't mind James investing in an automatic to save my finger a bit of clicking. :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I did discover that especially on the last level, it gets a little laggy when you trigger too many guys at once. I have a thought on how I might fix that, but I'm gonna take a small break

HE'S A CANDLE (AS IN "WICK"?!?!) - GENIUS.  Music and sound design - top. Loading screen looking like an elevator door opening is wicked cool and intrinsic motivation to keep playing is on all-time high (I will always remember you, my pet hamster...)

Thank you so much!
