Whoaaa. That was an experience.
Keep making games like that !

Cute art style. Love the little angry spirits haha! Great job working on the branching dialogue it was a good experience over all! :)

Very cool game. Love the focus on the story and its theme. I played for, I assume at least, both endings. I like that dying isn't too punishing. The memories are a great incentive to keep going through the gameplay.

This is a fantastic game! I really like the worldbuilding and story presented here, and it's doubly impressive given how short it is. The art, music, and sound are all complementary to the narrative, and the multiple endings is the cherry on top. Well done!

While I enjoyed it, I must have clicked at the end both times I tried it and missed the assessment each time.
Or is there no assessment?
This is a style of game I like, and it's been done well, just not sure what I did wrong.
Well that's what I get for staying inside on a sunny day and sitting by myself in a coffee shop :)
The other thing I wanted to do was play it fullscreen, perhaps modify that option in itch?
cheers

oh no! Iโ€™m not quite sure what causes that bug, but if you let it play out naturally on the last line of dialogue, it should work. Sorry you ran in to it! Thanks for feedback :)

I'll try again, I think I was too eager to click.

As a writer, I always appreciate game jam submissions that take the time to develop a story rather than just starting with a blurb explaining the background and letting that do all the work. I was especially impressed that there were even some choices to make! This was a lovely and intriguing moody little adventure, and the aesthetics were on point; it's amazing how some simple lighting effects can elevate a game, even a small one like this. Super cool stuff!

This is a really outstanding submission, a really beautiful and enjoyable game, it definitely deserves all the attention and praise it's been getting. Congratulations!

Very nice story telling, the atmosphere is very good as well, good job!

Pretty good until I hit a bug where I went invisible.

I just before the memory of the cafรฉ I died a lot, then on the last go the camera didn't zoom out, so i had to navigate the other souls without the zoomed out view, then I got there, saw the memory, and when I left I was invisible lol.

But I enjoyed it, nice idea and aesthetic and I wanted to see where the memories went.

Does a reload of the page fix it? :( Sorry you ran in to it! I would love for you to see the end

The same thing happened again, only this time once I finished the memory in the school.

It seems after I die several times in a row, or maybe its something specific that happens that I was unlucky enough to run into.

Once I died a few times then moved to the next memory the camera didnt zoom out again, I made it to the school memory and when I finished I was invisible again.

This is awesome!

I don't have anything else to add that everybody else hasn't already said. The music fit great, the particle effects were really nice, the color and atmosphere of the game looked perfect (especially the gradient on the text), the actual story within the game was very cool and a unique idea!

Fantastic job! I hope you're happy with what you made, because it rules!

amazing story! nice game.

And you say this is your first game jam?!

Very nice aesthetic, particles and lighting really sell things.

Narrative, dialogue, and choices? I'd be a criminal not to rate you high in story for that.

Fairly simple mechanics but it does the job of providing an obstacle to the player.

I'm not really sure how it ties to the game jams theme, but a great narrative experience regardless.

Good job :D

thank you!! It is a human souls last stand before judgement :)

*Brain clicking noises* Ahhhhhhh, very nice!

Very beautiful game. I kept on pressing space bar to advance the text and did not realize I could choose the options. Maybe I am just tired from trying all these jam games. Congrats on an awesome entry!

Visuals and audio are great. I loved the dream-like and melancholic atmosphere. The memories were very immersive. Good job on the lighting, particles, and dynamic camera!
