Great puzzles, atmosphere and mechanics!
100% recommendation for everyone who stomps on this game.
A few questions:
1. I did not understand what to do after I activated the towers outside, I teleported into the central building and the puzzles were off, what was I supposed to do?
2. The puzzles seemed to finish when the light touched the spheres, but not all different color spheres simultaneously. (I mean I could make the light touch the green sphere, then stop touching it, but touch the next color and the puzzle will be considered solved although I felt like all spheres should be lit at the same time).
Was this intentional?

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback and the recommendation. I really makes our day to hear people enjoy the game.

As for your questions:
1. You were right to enter the central building. There is an active puzzle at the top of the stairs with a purple laser. I realized after watching some people play that the laser is not sure visible, and because of the "new" color, it is not as noticeable when you walk up there. Definitely something to look at in the future. Thanks for mentioning it.

2. Your instincts were correct. All spheres must be lit up at the same time for the puzzle to be complete, however this is a bug we had in the version. We have already created a fix for it, but because it is not "game breaking" we are holding back on the deploy until after the voting ends, to give everyone the same experience when playing the game. The patch will be deployed soon after the voting ends (including a few other small bug fixes), so if you feel like playing it again, that might be a good time to give it a go. (There is also a secret to find as extra motivation if you haven't found it yet)

Thanks again for playing. We really appreciate it and your valuable feedback

Wow amazing immersive 3D puzzle game! I loved the background music and the environment. I think I figured out the first puzzle, but I need to return with a fresh brain for the rest of the challenge!

Developer(+1)

We are glad you liked it. We have a few bug fixes ready to deploy after the coting ends for the game jam, so check back soon for a slightly better version of the game.

That was ambitious! I know this is probably the wrong thing to focus on, but I loved the trees and the ground cover, they did a great job of selling the environment. the lasers lacked sharks but I'll forgive that ;P excellent puzzles

Developer

Sharks! *slaps forehead* I KNEW we forgot something.

Thank you for taking the time out to play our game =D

This was FANTASTIC!!! I loved it all. The puzzles seemed a bit intimidating at first, but once I realized their secret they became super fun. Really great job!

Developer

It makes use very happy to hear you enjoyed. Thanks so much for playing and your feedback

Woah, crazy how many puzzles you were able to put together! I really liked how the environment connected and reacted to the puzzles being solved. I had a bit of trouble figuring where to go after the first few were solved, but then I realized there were multiple towers surrounding the main one.
I completed all the outside puzzles, but once I made it inside, my laptop really started to struggle.  I got through the first couple puzzles inside, but received a fatal error. I don't think Unreal likes my laptop.

I was really hoping to get the end, but alas it wasn't meant to be. The variation and progression of the puzzles was nicely spread out. Nicely put together.

Developer

Thank you for playing. Sorry to hear that you couldn't complete the game. We really appreciate you playing it though. This being a game jam (and the fact that the puzzles took us a few days to come up with), meant we didn't have time to optimize for performance. We do have a few ideas for that if we decide to take this game a bit further. Thanks so much for the feedback

Very interesting game.
I didn't understand quite well all the puzzles. Maybe a hint or a tip could help (hidden some where in the world or after the player spends some time on the puzzle).
A very enchanting moment.

Developer

Thanks for playing the game. We are glad we left a memory. And thanks for the feedback on the puzzles. We were kind of going for The Witness vibe where half the problem is figuring out what the puzzle is expecting, and the other half is actually getting the solution. But maybe a few hints to get you started might be a good idea. Thanks again

It feels a lot of play testing went into it and I appreciate that. It moved very fluidly. Thank you for submitting!

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play.  Highly appreciated.

A very nice and polished game! I enjoyed the voice-over intro story that I almost missed because I didn't see the scroll until I was maybe 10-15 minutes into the game. The puzzle progression felt really good too. They didn't get super difficult right away. Great job!

Developer

We are delighted you took the time to play our game and enjoyed it.  Thank you!

And thank you for your feedback. We will definitely take that in going forward.

It's not a Witness-like game without an hour-long puzzle where you are forced to stay put and watch a mind-numbing video the whole time

For the longest time I thought the puzzles with more than one laser/target needed to all be lit up at the same time in order to be completed. I spent the longest time on one and then it suddenly completed in this state:

After that it was pretty simple, knowing I only needed to hit one sphere at a time. Strangely the final area unlocked when I'd only gotten three out of four lights done in the ceiling puzzle, I was on my way trying to find the source of the fourth laser (the blue one, I think) when I saw the glowing disc and got teleported inside. Was the ceiling puzzle a bonus, secret thing?

I liked being able to run around extremely fast. :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for taking the time to play and your valuable feedback!

Your initial instincts were actually correct - the idea is to have all targets lit up at the same time (and yes, the puzzle you posted is solvable in that way ;D).  In the uploaded build it's a bug that allows a puzzle to be solved if a target was hit at least once at some point.

It has already been fixed, but we will upload the fix after the jam voting period has completed as it's not a game breaking bug (in fact, it's the opposite? =D)

If by 'ceiling puzzle' you are referring to the puzzle inside the ceiling of the shrine inside the village, then yes, that's a secret puzzle =)

Submitted(+1)

That's the puzzle I meant, yes!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Well done for finding it! There's unfortunately no pay-off for solving it apart from the satisfaction =)

This is a full-fledged game with strong influences from The Witness. Very polished, graphics, sound, gameplay, length - astounding considering it is a game jam game. I was occasionally lost in the map but finished the game. There's a secret puzzle I couldn't figure out so would appreciate pointers about that (it involves the windmill).

Developer(+1)

Hi. Thanks for playing our game and your great feedback. We really enjoyed making it and love to see others enjoy playing it.

I will post the location of the hidden puzzles below. If you wanted the solutions to the puzzles instead, I can DM those to you.

I can't see a way to hide spoiler text, so will just add a note:

SPOILER: the following text has spoilers on a secret hidden puzzle

The secret puzzle found in the shrine in the village needs 4 other puzzles to be solved before it can be solved.
The 4 hidden puzzles display the initials of the 3 people that worked on the game, (CJ, JM and RB), and then the white puzzle is like any other puzzle with no specific message. These are hidden all over the map. Once one of them, is activated you can follow the laser to where the final secret puzzle is located.
Red is hidden by the house that is under construction in the village
Green is hidden by that hay near the windmills
Blue is hidden under some rubble (fallen floor) on the ground floor
White is behind some trees on a hill, behind the tower that shoots the green laser towards the center tower

Once you have solved all those puzzles you will have the necessary lasers to solve the final hidden puzzle.

Unfortunately there is no reward for solving the final puzzle other than the satisfaction of doing it. But great job in finding it.

Submitted(+1)

Very cool, the secret puzzle shape solution has an interesting shape. Maybe this game could be fleshed out a bit more if you're interested? There's potential here.

Developer(+1)

Thanks. We have been discussing building this out into a complete game. Stay tuned!

I personally wouldn't play The Witness/The Talos Principle type games. This game did feel full featured and completed. I did get a little bored of the puzzles, like it said I wouldn't play The Witness. But they were well balanced, which is hard to do.  I felt like it was playing an actual game and not a Game Jam. I gave you some of the highest marks in this competition, thus far.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for taking the time to play our game, especially one that's in a genre not in your regular wheelhouse. And thank you very much for the kind feedback!

Highly appreciated.

Awesome puzzle game! Reminds me of The Witness and The Talos Principle. Really like your audio and visual design. Love how you have to hunt the puzzles down in addition to solving them. Great job!

Really fun game! Loved the puzzles, some had me scratching my head for a while but they were satisfying to figure out!

This was so fun! I love puzzle games. The world is really great too. I did find myself squinting the whole time, I wish it was a little brighter.

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback - we'll definitely take it into the mix for future updates.

And thanks for playing!
