This has so much potential! I wasn't able to beat it, even after watching the walkthrough, but I had fun trying. I'm not sure if anyone else said this, but I had no idea the initial cannonballs were cannonballs and I got killed right away. I couldn't tell if they had momentum coming towards me, so I thought they were collectables. I think the parrot could say something when you grab the first rope, something about avoiding the cannonballs up ahead. But still, really good start!
Thank you. I think that's a great idea about the parrot and I can see now how the cannonballs don't show momentum, shall have to think about improving that. Thanks again for the valuable feedback
Great work, GameFavorites! I played this on stream and while the rope grabbing took some adjusting, I had a really fun time and loved the humor and style throughout. But I have to know ... how on Earth do i get to that last treasure chest!
I enjoyed watching your stream and appreciate all of the feedback and also very pleased that you managed to complete the level despite the tricky rope grabbing mechanic. You were so close to getting the treasure chest, basically you can use the running guy as a platform and he can be dead or alive whilst he's falling. Oh, big brain plays!! I knew it had to do something with him. Great work!
As others said, I loved the music and liked the layout! once I got familiar with the rope grabbing mechanic I was able to clear. Really nice entry.
Love the music queue haha. As others have pointed out, I had some minor issues with the rope grabbing, but that's not super relevant to round 1. I did finish, but I didn't get the chest.
The environment was I think interesting, I really liked how you did the layers of the inside and outside of the ship to make that cut away effect, it's really nice. Nice entry!
When the music rings, I know I have found the right game.
Made me laugh and really enjoyed the simple-ness of walking into and killing the enemies. Location wasn't unique, but then flying on a rope was unique and interesting. Fun idea with rope jumping and attacking :)
Like others, I had difficulty with the rope, but other than that, I had a blast playing! Nice work!
I really enjoyed this :)
Now I must quit my job and leave for adventures on the high seas!
The moment I climb that rope and got away with the parrot and the music: EPIC
Enjoyed it, i would a bit work on rope climbing engine, however it looks really unique :)))
The only problem was how both the timing and the location of grabbing the rope with Up are way too precise. Regardless, this was fun!
I enjoyed the game, though I did find it to be a bit tricky.
amazing game! grabbing on the rope the parrot held didn't work sometimes, but other than that, amazing game! now enjoy this picture of a wall.
Thanks. I shall definitely have to sort the rope out. The picture of the wall is so random, love it, lol
Pretty cool take on the 2D platformer genre. The hitbox on the ropes is a little small. But overall, really solid entry. Would love to see you keep going with this game!
Nice pirate themed level! Grabbing the rope is a bit tricky but the mechanics are well thought out, well done!
I feel like its cheating to use pirates, everyone loves pirates! :^)
The art and level design is great, the rope on a parrot has the potential to be an entire game on its own. If you wish to extend this concept, it would be great to allow the player to grab on to the rope if they have the up arrow held down, instead of only when it is pressed over the rope.
I have to say, the location is not the most unique, but I respect that you are attempting 2 jams at once which is quite a feat! Great job, looking forward to what you have up next.
Big thanks for the feedback. That is such a brilliant idea about grabbing on to the rope and shall have to include that if I make it through to the next one, it would definitely make it much easier for everyone. Yeah I agree there I don't expect to score too well on the location especially seeing just how unique some other people's places. Thanks again for the kind words and best of luck to you
