I now have a fear of cats
and I of those with bricks
(Thanks for playing, get well soon!)
A shame that the game got a bit shaky during the upload process, however the animations and spriting were amazing, you'll never let me down in that regard.
glad you got the chance to play it! Thanks for the love. True, it could have gone better.
The game looks beautiful with vibrant colors. The big cat chasing you would have been so epic. I played it multiple times for the art itself lol.
thanks for playing spadeship!
XD
play as much as you like! Sorry it just stops there lol
Awesome art as always. I liked the way the pitch of the meows showed you where the laser beam will hit.
Thanks Kingjaw!
happy you figured that out! (enlisting it in the comments to help others hehe)
Enjoyed playing this on stream. I'm really glad I was able to get it to work so I could share feedback there. Art as always is amazing. I think the sfx were all good, but the balance of the audio levels could be improved. The telegraph for the sewer beam was excellent, but once I was out of sight of the green kitty, I was just running based on instinct. Another great entry, spoonsweet.
Thank you for an amazing stream! As many other game devs have noted your work is invaluable from all details you talk and mention, to testing everything etc. Agreed the sound definitely needed tweaking. and yeah the aim was for the camera to go up so you wouldn't have visual anymore and had to survive by identifying and forming hearing patterns. regardless thank you for sticking to it so long!
I just want to create pixel art as impressive as yours! especially adorable kittens and their sounds.
I understand that you were pressed for time and probably would have included more hints if you could have. However, after playing the game a for f
ew attempts, it becomes clear what actions are necessary)) Great job!
A lot of practise my friend! There is a lot of stuff we can all improve on, but thanks for the kind words!
I will relay your message about the kitten sounds to their creator XD references helped a lot for the pixel art however.
thanks again for checking the game out!
Very beautiful visuals, as always! I hadn't noticed until I read the comments that the meow pitch told you where the laser would spawn, but that's a nice touch! I think maybe another small clue would help for those that don't notice it like myself, because it otherwise felt a bit harsh when I got caught by it seemingly randomly.
Thank you for dropping by Keltfire! hehe it was supposed to be a bit of an experiment, to see how many would figure it out, thank you for mentioning the comments as the source :D
But you are correct, it should be mentioned or hinted at least inside the game. Thanks for the patience!
The art and animations are lovely! Sounds were a bit loud, but nothing adjusting my volume couldn't fix. Really good work!
Thank you for the love! yeah sounds were an issue thank you for being patient hehe
Cheers for checking the game out!
Took me a few to get what was going on. Completely missed the gear the first few times. Had to read the comments to figure it out. Once I did, no issues with gameplay.
The audio of the cats was a little strange at the beginning. I thought it was a DoNotDestroy audio clip from the title screen or something. Maybe have it start once you first meet Drain Cat?
Overall, this is still a good entry. I'm always in awe of your graphics and visual design. Top notch.
Oops! Sorry for that! yeah the cats are shouting a bit loudly at the start, That's a good suggestion, or I could have them spawn only when the player is in position. thanks for the kind words!
Noooo spoonsweet did you accidentally submit your (DEBUG) version :") Cool pitch mechanic though, well executed with the elevator slowly making the cat out of frame, and amazing art as always.
Hehe Yeah it was a mess :D glad you found the pitch mechanic, and liked a bit of the theatrics :DThanks for playing!
great art! so good that I took the cog as a background element the first five times I saw it. Maybe that's on me though. Did manage to make it to the top - would have been nice to see Drain Cat again while we're climbing the elevator?
Thank you for playing Vandervas!
yeah I should probably have made the cog shine a bit more! sorry for that.
Agreed the drain cat should have followed you slowly sliming along the way, bad time management on my part.
really cool! like the idea and the great art! also liked how you could tell where the laser would spawn based on the meow pitch!
Hey Malek! glad you think so! Also well done on finding the pitch mechanic!
The idea for the game is great and it's visually stunning. I think it was hard to know where the lightning bolts were going to come from and they were very fast. I think it might have been better if the boss was climbing on the walls spitting acid as you go up the elevator. I managed to get to the end though. I did find a bug on the download version where I fell through the floors at either ends but I'm going to ignore that as the online version worked perfectly.
Thank you for taking the time to play! I'm happy you enjoyed the visual art. There is a small trick with the lightning bolts, the pitch. I wonder if on the online version as well you can jump off the ledge, I probably didn't put any boundaries there since if you wanted to jump you could (although the camera wouldn't follow you so that's an issue hehe).
great idea with the boss climbing upwards! I also wanted to include something similar bad planning and time estimation on my part.
What you've made is amazing, 4's and 5's from me. I didn't pick up on the pitch the first and second time I played but that was me not paying attention and rushing to not get struck rather than thinking with my brain. I later read a comment above mine on your page and I gave it another go and the telegraphing is very clear. It's really clever to use sound to indicate the positions of the incoming bolts and I like using the cog to get up. Only issue I found was on the downloadable version with the ends, not sure what I did to make the ends not be solid but the online version works perfect, didn't even think about going out of bounds and doubt others will
Thanks for revisting the game! With so many to play, it means a lot!
Thanks for the comment, glad you pushed through and found it regardless :D
Art and sound are fantastic! I got to the top of the elevator thing and then couldn't do anything. The two cats were really cool though.
Hey dev pirates!
thank you for the kind words, the game should have ended by you reaching the top, I must have missed something that needed connecting. Thank you for playing!
Hey! i love the art! So good! The music and sounds weren't balanced well so either too loud or quiet. Also... How do you beat the boss? haha i can't seem to do anything but run away, or am i missing something?
Thanks for checking it out and for your kind comments!
You didn't miss anything unfortunately the way was to dodge and escape. Yep music was an issue I should have put barriers for it to start only when in specific positions. thanks again!
