Hi. I don't use Windows, but how about a browser version? Considering the screenshots, I like the palette and the mood of the game. :)
I will try to put the browser version by tomorrow buddy because i get 1.5gb of data for a day and i dont have mac and WebGL module installed so yeh. But i thanks you a lott that you come here. Thanks a lott buddy
Cool little game, Cant wait to see what else you make! I didn't find many faults with the game and the art style is brilliant. Good entry!
I thank you alot buddy for playing my game, And thank you very much for giving your precious time to play my game!!
its alright
The graphics of this game are pretty neat, and the voiceovers are also a nice touch. Are the backgrounds during the cutscenes hand-painted or did you use some software to create the effect? Either way, looks pretty neat!
Gameplay-wise, I would have liked to see a little more uniqueness. The controls feel good and level design is okay, but there's just very little that seperates it from other platformers. I think it does what it tries to do pretty well, it's just not quite what I was looking for.
Thanks buddy for play my game, it means a lot,
the cut scenes are not hand painted, i just put a oil pain effect in photoshop on it.
I also thought that i would make somthing unique but then I thought it i my first time participating and a GameJam and the second game that i completed, so only did what i can, because i am new to programming and still? finds it hard to do it, Any advice so i can improve my programming skills?
I will try to improve my skills
But again i thank you a lot to give your precious time to play my game
This game has a really nice aesthetic! I like the simplicity and the eye-relaxing look of this game! This game would be much better if there's some way we can skip the cutscene.
Thanks a lot for your feedback buddy, I will always keep in mind that i will always put a skip button on on cutScenes in future, Thank you very much for playing my game!!
hmm, the download isnt working for me, itll download, but i cant really do anything with it, like open it, or un zip it
I am sorry buddy that you faced problem i check it again and its working, i guess when you download there could a problem in the itch server. But i really thanks you to come here and you downloaded it thanks a lot
wow, this is a beautiful color palette . how do you get this beautiful color and long background? is it with sprite shape ? this a very very nice. good you try also to record voices and tell a narrative. you have your unique style for graphics , very good.
Thanks alot buddy for playing my game, The color pallet yeh i just draw the scene in photoshops and give a color pallet colors to the shapes and then i used color lookups to change the look and feel, Thanks a lot buddy, your comment means a lot
yes, it 's a very good start. having your unique style in graphics is very important. Use this potential you already have to practice in other jam and make other masterpiece . Good luck. See you in another jam. :)
If you could, can you upload a Mac or browser version of this game? I only run on Mac at the moment unfortunately.
I will try to put the mac build by tomorrow buddy because i get 1.5gb of data for a day so yeh.
But i thanks you a lott that you come here. Thanks a lott buddy
Well done, that's impressive! I like the art style a lot. Also it's great that you made cut-scenes and even a boss fight. As some commentors below said, some sound would be great. Use bfxr (free), it's literally 10 minutes effort and adds so much to the overall feel. But again, well done.
Thanks buddy for your reply and giving you your time to play my game, i will improve it in the future thanks buddy, it means a lot
This is pretty impressive for your first game jam. I thought the graphics were cute and charming. Also I liked the story and the narration. It was pretty creative. But now to address the elephant in the room. There are no music and sound effects which are very important for atmosphere and mood. Without it, it just kind of feels empty. The gameplay was also nice, but it was missing a few major aspects such as not being able attack from behind the character, and the fact there is no reason to kill the enemies (including the boss) because I found it much easier to just avoid them. In the end, you should be proud of your first jam game, it's definitely better than my first one, so Great Job :D
Thanks alott buddy for your comment Thanks * 3000, The reason that the character cant attack from left is a lack of my skills, i will try my best to improve my skilled, sound effects were not added because the lack of time, because i completed 40 percent of work on the last six hours including the boss fight. But thanks a lot buddy for giving your precious time.
The game is good. But I do not know what this is related to, but I have problems with the perception of the game minimalistic art is combined with very detailed objects, for example, a large white flower. The game requires polishing, the effects are really needed, both visual and sound. Music or nature sounds in the background are also required. The impact animation is too fast. But these are just small things, understanding them will come in the future, after creating 5-6 completed projects. These are all games that I didn't like, and in many ways everything is done with soul and love, keep it up!
Thanks alot sir for your comment, This is my first jam and i will try my best to improve my skills, Thank you so much to give your precious time and play my game it means a lot..
Visuals are great and the theme is well present! It would be nice if there is a way to skip intro narration after wathing it once. SFX would've also been great. But overall I liked it very much. Keep up the good work!
Thanks alott buddy
Haha, it was a fun game, I liked the controls and the cutscenes, the cutscenes were fantastic! The background was really pretty along with the graphics. Notes:
- The enemy at the beginning glitches out instead of dying/disappearing and you still take damage if you bump into him at that state.
- The purple enemies can't be killed (I think, if they can, then I didn't realize it, no feedback given when I hit them).
- The sound during the cutscenes cuts off a bit too early, before finishing the last word, it also cuts off abruptly instead of fade out, which might not sound very good.
- Needs some more work on the animations (Player hit, enemy hit, player death, etc...)
- I liked the bouncy spike animation!
Good game overall, good job!
Thanks alot for your feedback buddy it means alot,
1. The first enemy at the beginning, oh yeh i need to fix that.
2. Yes due to the dead line i didnt add heath system to the purple enemy. so they cant be killed.
3. Yeh those need to be fixed
4. Yep bro i will work on my animations skills and try to improve that, i dont know why but animation scares me.
5. Thnaks alottt buddy.
I love the background really good
Thanks alot buddy your comment motivates a lot
Marxy 37 wrote a pretty exhaustive feedback ! But I can add some minor points :
It's really impressive for a first game. I like the aesthetics and the narration. There is some adjustment to get more challenge perhaps. Add some text during cutscene to help understand what's going on.
And you MUST add at least one Music and one sound for each action the player does. I usually use freesound/opengameart for sfx, and incompetech for music, this can be done in 1h.
But once again, really good start, great job, keep it up !
Thanks alot sir for your comment, i also played your game and its my honor to have your comment over here, thanks alot sir for your feedback, next time i will improve the things and i will try my best. Thanks alott sir for your feedback thankssss
Choo Choo, here it comes the feedback train (make space because this will be A LOT of feedback):
Ok buddy, you really made my day, Thaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnkkkkkkkssss alotttt, You criticize my game thats all i want because, you played the game actually and understand whats in it, i am the developer of the game, and a developer knows what different faults his game has, but some of the faults that he cant find out, he know form the people who actually plays his game. You pointed alot of this and you write this much, you give your precious time to play my game, i love you bro, you are amazing, you know its my first jam and each line of yours, gives me motivation * 3000. to work on my skills.
This is my first game jam and 40 percent of the game is completed in last 6 hours before the end submission date.
The thing which are not added to the game such as sfx is because to the lack of time and the thing like moving left is not added because the lack of my skills, it lot like i dont want that not move to left.
All i want to say is extremely thanks for playing my game
Ye, i figured it was because of that!! Thank You for making this game!! It was fun, both to play and to give feedback to!! (^u^)
Nice game! I died after reaching the first cutscene and had to start from the beginning again, I don't know if this was intentional or not but its usually a good idea to put a checkpoint after somebody watches a cutscene because dying and having to watch it again is usually a little annoying, I would also recommend adding knockback when you hit the enemies because it would make your hits feel a little more powerful as well as give you indication that you actually hit the enemy,
other than that I liked the game, the art was super cool, and I like the painting style you went for with the cutscenes, having a story and dialogue was also a good touch that you don't see with many jam games.
nice work.
Thanks alot for the advice buddy, i will make sure that i will do better in future, 40 percent around of work has been done under 6 hours so i missed alot of things such as music and sound effects but thanks your comment, it motivates a lot
A really nice adventure. The voiceover was nice too. Good job.
It was my honor to have your comment over here
Great game, but boss fight doesn't feel interesting
Thanks buddy, I will improve boss fight in future
Great work for a first jam, nice to see an actual story too ! I really liked the "painting" style of the cinematics, however I guess there was one at the beginning of the game that didn't trigger because I wasn't aware of the missing mother until reaching the village.
Platforming feels good, but could use some coyote time in my opinion. I also think the game needs to give more feedback to the player as well, stuff like enemy or the player blinking when hit, etc. Right now we can be wondering if our hits really hit, or if we really dodged that triangle. A good example is the projectile of the flying enemies pushing you back, that was great.
Lastly I think the game might be a tad too hard in the forest part, especially for a jam game where your players might have less patience as they will review dozens of games.
Overall a positive start, keep going !
Thanks a lot buddy, you feedback gives a lot of motivation, yes i will learn from my mistakes and will do better next time thanks for playing my game.
I like it! A fun little tale of adventure. Congrats on finishing a game in your first jam. That's not easy to do. Keep making games!! Good job!!
Thanks a lot buddy your reply is highly motivates me thanks
