I had so much trouble jumping on that moving platform and when i managed to do that i fliped off the wall and still fall :D . Anyway, such a great movement mechanic. I'd like to see this game grow :)
Thanks! I'll add on top of this once the jam is over!
Just reading through the comments, I'm glad you are going to continue working on this game. Only moving forward definitely made it hard to time things, great puzzle element to the game. Your art is actually very good, I like the main character design quite a lot. Your song choice was nice and made me want to stay and play for longer. The only thing I would improve is the responsiveness of the jump, sometimes he stalls in the air when I hold the button down intending for him to move. Other than that, you made a cracker game! Well done!

Thanks! The problem with the jump is with how the game detects mouse movement as input. I'll release a fixed build when the jam's over.
Challenging but great fun. This is one of the first games I played but the rating wasn't available at the time. I finally found you again :)
Thank you!
Very much enjoyed it but as you said yourself, the end part is a bit on the difficult side. Great work overall!
Thank you!
Wow, I just replayed the game and can totally see how ridiculous that last section is. Yesterday I could get to the end no problem, now I actually couldn't and quit as well! I wanna make a better version of this game after the jam is done, without moving platforms probably.
This is neat, I like the checkpoint feature
*Gets stuck on playing the same bit for over 30 mins repeating a tiny mistake by accident*
That's just me, game is still good
I plan on expanding this game in the future and adding more checkpoints to avoid the tedium of redoing everything over and over.
Left a comment on the game page itself, but looking here now I guess I was weak for quitting before the end, haha. Still maintain that the final stretch asks for a bit too much precision to be satisfying, but everything else was good.
My tip for the final two platforms is to just go for it without thinking much. You're absolutely not weak, the game is pretty unbalanced.
Clever idea and quite challenging & punishing which I like.
Here's my game I made with a friend:

It does require 2 xbox controllers and someone to play with BUT there are short preview videos in the comments to give you the general idea.
Thanks! I don't really wanna rate a game I can't play, though. :|
haha, cute little character. took me a few seconds to understand how it worked. pretty cool tho. nice platformer
Thanks!
It was hell. Yep, that's my definition.
Challenging with loads of fun. You build up your stress till the sweet moment of joy when you finally overcome it.
The kind of game speedrunners love to hate. Count me in.
If the project ever goes beyond this, I would love to be notified!
Lol thanks? I don't really want the game to be that stressful, so if I continue development one of my priorities will be to make it a bit easier. Maybe I'll add a speedrunner mode for masochists.
The character is pretty easy to control but the level is really unforgiving. It was quite a few times where I hit an obstacle by accident and had to backtrack a whole lot to turn around. Pretty annoying, tbh. I don't mind difficult challenges in games like this, but as the difficulty ramped up it became a bit too tedious to traverse through it all whenever I made a mistake.
If you can solve the tedium of backtracking and getting back to where you failed I'm sure you'll have a good game here. Good job!
Maybe I can add more checkpoints. If I ever continue this game, it won't be nearly as punishing.
This game is the right kind of frustrating. Any mistake made is 100% the player's fault and it makes me want to keep trying to get it right. The aesthetic is adorable, and I would love to see more development in graphics post-jam. Great job!
Totally will!
Really nice platformer . Player control feels very smooth. The only drawback is a bit poor graphics.
I didn't have enough time to make better graphics. :(
Really liked the concept. Relaxing music and the graphics are nice (could use a bit of antialiasing). I noticed that the keyboard input stops working when you move the mouse.
Yeah, the mouse thing is the biggest problem. I will update the game when the rating period is over.
Nice game, I only wish there was some way to change directions other than by hitting a wall :P
But that's the whole point of the game lol
Oh whoops, I'm dumb -_-
Nice platformer, main hero is cool =D 5/5
Thank you!
The dificulty rises as you progress to a point where it is very challanging. I really like it. I reached to the point where there are 2 small platforms going oposite directions ;) Maybe I'll try again when I have some more time.
Thanks! I know you can do it!
A little buggy with the mouse, but works well with Keyboard. The level was well designed as I couldn't just turn off my brain and hold down a key to win. Well done!
Thank you!
Was a bit tough getting the jumps working consistently- sometimes the movement would stop in mid-air when I hold the button. Regardless, you nailed the Adherence to the Theme 5/5 !
That only happens when using the mouse. I didn't program that very well. :|
The difficulty on this game really does a good job of being "easy to learn, difficult to master." I still haven't been able to beat the game after about 15 minutes, and I plan on coming back later. I could see this being a good speedrunning game if it was polished up and made longer. You also ran with the theme really well, which makes all of the above that much more impressive. Well done!
Thanks! I thought about adding a "speedrun mode", with a timer and no checkpoints, but I ended up giving more than one function, like playing music and repositioning the camera boundaries, which made the work easier but meant I couldn't remove them without serious reworking. If I choose to continue this game I'll gear it more towards speedrunning.
