fun and good graphics, maybe make the arrow keys as the controls instead of the mouse
Thanks for your comment! About the controls, considering the theme of the jam was "out of control" we figured it'd fit better with a less accessible control scheme, but thanks for the suggestion!
Ooh, exciting to see that I wasn't the only one who thought about a marble game. Could to see how different they were. Yours is hard! The best I managed was to get through 4 levels! I loved the raccoon running on the ball, that was a really great idea, it looked awesome! Well done!
Thank you very much! I'm also happy to see more people made a marble game! It was one of the first kind of games that came to mind when thinking of the theme, so I've been surprised to see that not many people have been making them ^^U. Thanks for the nice comment!
This is fun! Definitely feels out of control; but it would be nice to maybe have the speed start out a little slower and then ramp up so it doesn't feel so impossibly difficult to get moving in the right direction. Plus, I often found that the level would load and my mouse would be in the wrong spot from the end of the previous level and I would just go right off the edge. But very fun game, and I'd love to see where it goes with some fine tuning!
Thank you for the feedback~
We certainly could use a lot of refinement, and we simply ran out of time to do real fine tuning. We also had a situation where the controls would play differently on each others' computers, so one of us would feel the speed was proper, and the other would feel it too slow... And then come into the Web Version and it seems consistent. Learned a lot!
Haha that sounds like it would make the fine-tuning part very frustrating. Great job with what you did put together though! We'd love your feedback on our game as well, if you haven't already. SpaceBus
Adorable looking character! Fantastic work with it, plays a lot like Monkey Ball, which isn't a bad thing! Fantastic design, it gets very hectic. Nice job!
Thank you so much!! We appreciate the positive and kind comment ^^
Really fun game! I love that you mixed 2D and 3D art, it makes it quite unique. I'd have like some progression on the levels instead of playing a random one each time. Also, in few levels I fell just after spawning, maybe that was too frustrating, I'd have prefered having more space in the spawning spots. But overall it is a nice game!!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you like the aesthetics, and yeah, some progression on the levels would be nice. The spawning is also something we'd have REALLY liked to fix, but unfortunately we ran out of time, we delivered 5 minutes before the jam closed XD
Wow, ambitious game for a game jam, did you get any sleep?!
Thank you kindly!! We did get some rest XD but we got SUPER close to not being able to deliver, we delivered 5 minutes before the deadline ^^U
The art is really cute, and this game definitely gives an "out of control" feeling, so you nailed the theme down! Even then, I would still lower down the speed a little because I did run into some clipping issues where I could fall through the stage sometimes.
Thank you for the comment! You're right about the clipping issues, we didn't catch the bug in time to solve it unfortunately ^^U
This game looks really good. the 3d font is pretty sweet. I think i would like to try this game playing with arrow keys, also e makes you get big and I wasn't sure if i was supposed to be able to do that lol.
However i did feel properly out of control lol was always hyped to mostly just fly out of the level and try and land back on the blue. Good job
Whoops! Looks like the "debugging the player changes" mechanic was left in there!
The game was originally going to have these instances where the game would change properties to add more chaos, but we didn't quite get it polished in there, but I guess the game object that had the debug version was left enabled in the final build!
Thanks again for the play!
Very cool! surprisingly the 2D sprite on the 3D ball looks good! :) but the end trigger blue box could have been a little longer.
Thanks for the kind words!
We ran really late on the "refinement" part of the Hackathon, there's so many small touch ups I wanted to do! Thanks for playing!
The space bar unfortunately isn't for anything ^^U. It's a feature we didn't have enough time to implement, and we didn't have enough time to remove it from the controls section, sorry about that XD
Cool idea! Never thought it would be so hard to control movement with just the mouse. My only problems are the fact that I have no time to adjust my mouse position after I press play and the platform where it goes downhill I just can't see it until after i've fallen so maybe adjust the camera a bit.
Thank you for your comment and your feedback! You're absolutely right about having time to adjust the mouse position and about adjusting the camera a bit, we didn't have enough time to fix it unfortunately but they're really good points. Thanks for playing! ^^
Yep not having time to make the game as good as it could be is always a second theme for this 48 game jams.
Strange art choice, mixing the 3D environment with a 2D character, but it does remind me a bit of the "Run" games on coolmathgames.com. You build up speed a little too fast to get oriented when the level starts which can lead to instantly falling out of the stage. This speed can also lead to clipping through some of the thin green platforms.
Somehow I really loved the weird art of this game, gave me the feels of something like surrealism... Anyway this is a very fun game, reminds me of Hamsterball, but with a twist !
Happy that you enjoyed it!! Thanks for playing and for the nice comment! ^^
I adore the 2d art for this game, mechanics are fun too! Nice twist on the super monkey ball type genre.
Only thing is: if you press continue the game starts instantly and depending on the level design you instantly accelerate towards your death. It would have been great to have a start countdown or place the button in the middle so you start the level without moving towards a position.
Thank you very much for your nice comment and for the good feedback! About instantly accelerating towards your death once the level starts, you're right, we've seen it happen to a bunch of players too ^^U it's something we'll definitely fix if we put more work in the project! Unfortunately we didn't have time to fix it in the jam itself
honestly a good bit of fun! most of my problems with it (the sheer difficulty of it) make it fit the theme, so it kinda works! i do wish the art was a bit more cohesive, but then again, its a jam game. nicely done!
Thank you kindly!! We're really glad it was fun ^^
reminds me of those levels from super mario galaxy
Those were actually a huge inspiration! Glad to see people recognizing the style XD
