This is really well done. The amount of combos built in is extremely impressive. This certainly isn't my kind of game tough, I am terrible with these complex actions, and the use of them early on was a struggle for (my skill is not reflected in your score, however). I can see others loving this, and playing a ton of it. I also wasn't a fan of the control scheme. I like that you added WASD support, but ZXC were too awkward to use with WASD, and I couldn't easily find any alternative controls. Overall, great job!

Pretty awesome, though I myself never liked the X to attack Z to kick control schemes. Still enjoyed it but couldn't beat the levels with the walls of elctricity in them. With some more polish this could be a standalone game!

Hot damn, you got me at cancelling animations. I would like to see more from this. The only downside is that you throw too much at the player right out of the gate. The cheat sheet in the tutorial is welcome, but nothing beats slowly mastering one mechanic at a time by actually playing the game.

I really like this game, one of the reasons is that when I went to the controls, it only showed me the dash, so I thought it would be a bit simple, so I did level 1, then 2, then immediately got pummeled. Turns out this game is a lot more complex and has a lot of depth in its movements, reminds of Celeste where just 3 game mechanics allow for a lot of advanced stuff.

Loves:

  • Exciting combat system with a lot of space for mastery
  • Enemies are 'smart' which provides a lot of challenge
  • Swing animation really makes you feel your impact

Nitpicks:

  • The cool-down animation is too slow, I'd like to be able to chain a lot of hits in succession.
  • The tutorial isn't majorly intuitive for new players, although I like it's presentation style.
  • For the 'Kick' attack, I slide backwards, is that supposed to happen?

Thanks for the review, I highly appreciate it! I'll take all your thoughts into mind when moving forward with the game, of course, but in specific I'd like to respond: I've noticed a lot of people thinking that the tutorial is just a static image, and not knowing the can move around in it. I absolutely need to add a "Walk over here" or something to indicate there's more stuff.

That's exactly right, a pulsing arrow pointing to the right should do the trick :)

Basically, these are SOME of the moves that players can perform in the game by using 'z', 'x', 'c' along with 'up, down, left, right'. Players can try different combos like 'c' and 'x' to have a cool attack move.

The fact that this game also use a puzzle-like element make it a good brain exercise too. I also like it that players can go into any level they want to hahaha. To me, its idea of 'joining single attack with other moves' does incorporate with the theme of 'Joined Together'.

My suggestions would be: to decrease cool down time after performing an attack like the slash coz it'll be more thrilling and easier to manoeuvre the  character away from the impending attack. Another one would be, music and killer sound effect coz developer art style is already satisfying, unless they want to add a little of this and that.  Oh, also maybe add the 'z,x,' into the tutorial because I was having a brain leak for a few minutes trying to figure out how to attack as I know there are 'combos' element coz I read other comments.

Overall, Good Job DamenMaughan :)

**Turned out in TUTORIAL, players CAN WALK DOWN more to experiences a detailed tutorial! I surely thought it is static HAhaha. Now that's an really creative way to teach.

It is a bit difficult to understand at first but once you got it, the game is sooooo fun to play. The theme is implemented really nicely. The game can definitely be one of the bests.

The diversity of moveset is cool! Although it's hard to learn every sets of it in the tutorial right at a bat.

I liked the art but wasn't quite sure how to play the game, but the movement felt very nice. Good Job!

I love the art and the mechanics for the game, really good job in this short period of time and complex movements! I would have only wished at times to have a little buffer before enemies start attacking you, but at least I was able to replay immediately. Nice effects, great job!

love the art style

Such cool mechanics, reminded me of fighting games where you need combos, and animation canceling is so satisfying to perform!!

Loads of amazing mechanics and a solid stance taken with the given theme! Nice job!

Interesting mechanic. Also I love this take on the theme.

Really cool mechanics! the actual levels may be too challenging but it feels like something that could be worth putting time into and mastering with more polish
