Great game!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Hi everyone! Thanks for playing and rating our game! This was an incredible experience for all of us on the dev team. Being in the top 20 was something I never imagined would happen. I really can't thank y'all enough for this. See you next year!

(also, shameless self-plug: soundtrack is here on Soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/treatyofparisian/sets/threadbound-ost)

A really fun puzzle game. I think I might be too dumb for the puzzles as I am stuck on a level, but I had fun for a while at least.

Developer

Thanks for the review! You can press to P to skip levels as needed.

This is awesome! Very polished, the music is awesome, and the gameplay and level design are interesting. Very well done!

this was one of the most solid games i played in this jam , good luck already on your journey to release this game :) (even tough i had to download that .net core thingy)

Developer

Thanks! Sorry about any problems with .NET Core. We'll definitely be updating this game a bit after the jam. :)

A really well-made game. Looks pretty much with the art, music, and gameplay.  ~  Do check mine and give your valueable feedback:D

Really original!

I absolutely adore this concept, it gives for really nice game mechanics. I loved tying different things together just to see what would happen. The music was nice as well :D Great job!

Developer

Hey thanks for your review and we're glad you enjoyed it! :)

This game gives me the same vibe as Baba Is You, because any aspect of anything in the game can be used to control anything else in the game if the puzzle requires you to do so. It's really impressive. My initial reaction to the mechanics is wondering why it doesn't let you decide which directions the objects affect each other in. For example, why doesn't it let you make it so that when you push one box left, it makes another one move right? But I assume you thought of this during development and decided against it for some reason, and I assume that reason is either to make it simpler or to make it so that you can't cheat the puzzles.

Developer

Thanks! We for sure got some inspiration from Baba Is You. We thought about mechanics like inverse variables or rates of change, but ultimately those were scrapped because of time constraints.

fun puzzler, I wasn't too impressed until the y axis was introduced which was a stroke of geniuses.

shame there is no level select

Developer

We introduce a 3rd mechanic later in the game too, which you might enjoy even more!

We also included the p button to skip levels, just in case!

A really well-made game. Looks pretty much like it should be a fully released game with the art, music, and gameplay. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! We're definitely very proud of the amount of content in the game :)

A really good idea, made into a really good game! I loved the take on joining things together - instead of just attaching a rope or making them move exactly the same, you have more choices on how you want things to move with each other, which makes for some interesting logic puzzles. My only complaint would be how specific movement would have to be, and there wasn't much leeway on how you could move things either, which was frustrating when I had the solution (or at least thought I did!) but couldn't quite reach the exit - especially on the level where you first connected those books, where I couldn't make the final jump at first. The artwork was brilliant, and interestingly I loved the transitions between levels a lot, since they felt so smooth and colourful. The use of colour was clever as well, with background elements being deep purples and blues, and links being bright green - it was some really neat design! The background music was fitting for the game (I loved the piano!), with the melodies and instruments building up throughout, and those little jingles at the end of each level kept me going through the game. This was a really solid entry, and I had great fun playing it. Excellent work!

Thanks for your input! This is valuable feedback. You're absolutley right, after seeing some folks play the game, there are many things I would change about the levels now.

One of my favorites so far. Super polished, smooth, enjoyable. The music and art are great.

Developer

Thank you so much!

This game is a gem! Awesome premise and presentation - perfect art and music. The level design is amazing. Super great work by the team. First one I've played of the jam, but I don't how others will be able to top this!

Developer

Thank you!! :)

I sadly was getting .net core issues from the build on Windows, and I do have the most recent version installed :<. Might be a good idea to test this on a few other machines just in case.

Developer

Can you tell us exactly what the error is? The most recent version works fine for us.

Developer(+1)

Most likely the issue is that you're on a 32-bit machine or running the 32bit version of .net core  (only the 64-bit version will work). We didn't get the chance to make a 32-bit version. Sorry about that!

Submitted

That could absolutely be the issue lol, but I'm glad everyone else who has tried to play really likes it :D

Submitted(+2)

I got the same error but was able to download the correct version of .Net Core here at Microsoft's website. The game worked after that. Super easy install.

Submitted

Aye you were right! Got it working and wow - everyone is right, this is a really well polished game with really nice music and great atmosphere.

Developer

Hey thanks for sticking with us despite the issues! Glad you liked it! :)

Submitted

Holy, this game is amazing. It hits all the cylinders. Amazing art, music, and mechanics. You follow the prompt in an awesome and interesting way. This is easily the best game I've played of the jam.

Thank you! :)
