Amazing!

Amazing game!

At first, I was a bit weirded out by the hook, but quickly got used to it. Having you collide around the walls while grappled was a neat idea, specially the design of the "blue map" (to the left).

My main issue was that the "purple map" (upwards) is a bit confusing, I had no idea where I had to go.

Good job!

Awesome and fun game!! Really liked the gravity shifting mechanics! The art is cool, too. The game is very well-polished. I really enjoyed playing the game. The concept of switching gravity could also be used in a sequel or a full release of the game. I'd love to play more if you decided to continue it.

This is a really cool concept! I found the controls actually quite smooth :) I also am always a fan of the classic pixel art <3 nice work!!

Very cool concept. Sort of a marriage between two other well regarded mechanics (grappling hooks and gravity shifting). Great job!

I love the mechanic of switching gravity and the art is amazing.

Great Idea, feels very VVVVVV with the twist of swapping gravity in every direction. I think some sort of map or way to know which direction you need to head would be great, but otherwise fantastic work. So much done in just 48 hours which is incredible

This is awesome! The mechanic is really interesting, and works wonderfully with the level design. Other than the rotate controls (maybe use e and q for clockwise/counter-clockwise? I kept forgetting which buttons I was using to rotate) and a few bugs that found me exploring inside the walls, I have no complaints. This is a really well polished, interesting game that on top of everything, manages to tell a nice story. I think this is my favorite game of the jam so far. Fantastic work!

This is a cool idea!  I've seen a few other grapple hook type games, but this is easily the most unique take on it.  Switching the gravity around is a neat mechanic, and the level design compliments it nicely.  I liked the way the world is organized as a whole with a hub in the middle and sections on each side, and the art style for each section helped them feel distinct.  The main issue I noticed is that the grapple controls felt inconsistent and often found that I just didn't attach to the point or clipped into the ground, which made navigating tougher areas a bit frustrating.  It would also be nice to be able to zoom out (especially in the purple area where I felt like I was just guessing where to go and land), but that's much more of a nitpicky thing.  I think this game could be really great if you ever decide to go back and polish it, the mechanics have a lot of potential.  Great job!

This game was really cool! Unique concept and I absolutely love the art style! Reminds me of some kind of old tapestry. Awesome job!

Holy love the artstyle! I just wish the view in game was bigger to see where stuff is!

What a creative idea! I also really really love the presentation - the line motive was great!

I do think that the controls could have been a bit better though: I think they should have remained fixed regardless of the player's orientation. My reasoning is that then you always know that W always jumps and A and D are always for movement and you get more accustom to how these controls work under different rotations

Great work overall! Really enjoyed my time with the game.

Thank you for your feedback! We actually tried both alternatives regarding the controls, but ended up choosing this one that felt more intuitive to us. Sorry it didn't feel natural to you!

Really great game! Only gripe is that the level escalate very quickly, to a degree where I got stuck quite early. Overall definitly a contender for top 100 though, really well done!

Love the pixel art style, all of the assets really come together nicely.

I miss only one feature that is a minimap. Got lost in the levels few times :)

Amazing visual style, I will say the gravity-changing shenanigans caught me off guard but made for fun puzzles! The controls under different gravity directions did get a bit confusing sometimes, but I really can't think of what would be more intuitive haha

Lovely pixel art, you chose the assets and sounds nicely together. A bit difficult to find where you're supposed to go in the big open areas.

I enjoyed exploring around and visiting different parts of the world, but I did get a little frustrated with the controls - but I can see that the control fits with the world and the gravity mechanics.

Nice work! : )

cool concept!  sometimes the game feels a tad clunky, and i ended up getting stuck in the terrain a couple times, but overall it was definitely enjoyable.  awesome job!

Developer

Sadly we ran out of time and weren't able to fix some collision glitches! I hope it didn't impact your playing experience too much.
Thank you for your feedback!
Note for anyone reading this: you can always press R to restart the current level if you end up being stuck in a wall!

Well that was quite awesome! The soundtrack was quirky yet pleasant without becoming overbearing.

The artstyle and game mechanic felt very VVVVVVy, but that is definitely a good thing.

I see some other reviews found the world too big, but I think it's exactly the right size. I also felt like there was a natural progression as to which area would be discovered first. (I went north, south, west)

Glad you liked it :)

I liked the vibe! Not sure if I was supposed to be allowed to clip through the walls haha, but I felt like the movement was fun and the aesthetic feels very retro and chill. The speedy in-air acceleration felt really fun!

Developer

Oh yeah, clipping through the walls is *definitely* a feature (haha), glad you enjoyed the game!
