I enjoyed exploring around and visiting different parts of the world, but I did get a little frustrated with the controls - but I can see that the control fits with the world and the gravity mechanics.
Nice work! : )
cool concept! sometimes the game feels a tad clunky, and i ended up getting stuck in the terrain a couple times, but overall it was definitely enjoyable. awesome job!
Sadly we ran out of time and weren't able to fix some collision glitches! I hope it didn't impact your playing experience too much.
Thank you for your feedback!
Note for anyone reading this: you can always press R to restart the current level if you end up being stuck in a wall!
Well that was quite awesome! The soundtrack was quirky yet pleasant without becoming overbearing.
The artstyle and game mechanic felt very VVVVVVy, but that is definitely a good thing.
I see some other reviews found the world too big, but I think it's exactly the right size. I also felt like there was a natural progression as to which area would be discovered first. (I went north, south, west)
Glad you liked it :)
I liked the vibe! Not sure if I was supposed to be allowed to clip through the walls haha, but I felt like the movement was fun and the aesthetic feels very retro and chill. The speedy in-air acceleration felt really fun!
Oh yeah, clipping through the walls is *definitely* a feature (haha), glad you enjoyed the game!
It is a bit easy to get lost and disoriented while exploring, but I had fun with what I played.
F#$%ing amazing. Loved it so much. Only drawback was that grappling onto the things was inconsistent
VERY COOL art for sure! Really liked the overall presentation. Agree with the guys that it's easy to get lost :) Anyway this looks like a nice metroidvania concept, congratulations on this and best regards :)
Really love the art! Controls are easy to use and the world has enough room to explore. The check points are super useful. Good job!
Cool idea with a killer aesthetic :)
I definitely found it a bit unforgiving at first; it’s a large world and there’s really not much hand holding. But the frequent check pointing made it feel much more manageable.
Awesome mechanics and I love the choice of artstyle you went with.
I agree with some points made in the comments already regarding navigation (having a map) and rewards for exploring. I think this has really nice potential to make a metroidvania-like game, with a focus on exploring and getting upgrades.
Keep up the good work!
The game feels so polished for just 48 hours!
Did not expect controls to change with orientation, i automatically adapted to it somehow, awesome game!
The game is solid! the controls feel really good. I think something to aid in navigation would go a long ways. once I felt like I was lost i l didn't have motivation to keep going. I think adding fun things to find instead of just hazards would help motivate players to explore more as well.
Thank you for your comments! Of course those are features we would add if we had a little more time...
Your game looks beautiful, but sadly I can't play it on a Mac computer :-(
Your game's aesthetic is wonderful too!
I added a link on the game's page for a mac version ;)
Awesome! I was able to download and play it on my computer, thanks!
Art looks like a pixel art sketchbook. Quite nice.
I liked the art style you chose, and the gravity switching mechanic was super interesting. Of course I suck at platformers when gravity stays down, so this was extra tricky lol
Chill puzzle game with a charming art. Awesome!
I liked the concept, however I got stuck in the terrain multiple times and I found that you had to be rather accurate with the grappling hook for it to land where you want. With a little bit of polish this could be a really nice puzzle game.
Great work though <3
Haha, thank you for your feedback! I really liked your game!
Cool puzzle game, however I felt a bit cheated by the red-herrings, they dampened my motivation to beat the level, as I had to backtrack.
Overall good job!
If you get the chance, please check out my game! :)
This could make for a really neat puzzle game if it were fleshed out. My main complaint is I could not really see where I would land most of the time. Also, I'm not sure how well this fits the theme.
Really cool game mechanic! The rotation dependent controls are also very nice! In general the game is has a chill vibe.
