At first I thought this was a platformer game, but this was actually a nifty puzzle game! I only wish it was more obvious from the start how the mechanic works
I'm glad I got to poke you during my play, that just blew my mind.
You definitely can't rely on that sadly, and a lot of people will likely pass on this game. But when you realize the start menu adds interaction to the game as well, a whole world opens up. And it really becomes a sweet little puzzle game. Greatwork Spoon, all hail da spoon
A little bit more info would have been good, other than that this was pretty solid game! Good job!!
I feel like the fact that you can re-arrange the numbers in the main menu could have been better conveyed. I thought it was some sort of password system at first and didn't think to drag them until I looked at the comments here. I think changing the style of them to indicate they're drag-able might help. Otherwise, I thought it was a really nice game. Good job.
I really love how you learn how to play the game. You just press start and play till you get stuck at 3. And after messing around you learn you can rearrange the levels. After that you start unlocking new areas, new mechanics, and the eventual end of the game.
All in all this is wonderfully done in game design even with the extremely limited art/audio. I do wish you could rearrange levels, so you can go back, places level vertically and keep falling down. This however means you should slowly add more and new levels.
My main criticism is that rearranged levels should remain permanent between runs, as now that I am relying on my very poor memory and skribbled notes to keep progress.
For its overall Level design I would put this in the top 20 alone.
Really original! Like others have said, a little more info could be helpful. Perhaps some clearer visual clues and perhaps a faster way to jump in and out of levels to compare their layouts
The art style is kinda trippy accompanied by perfectly matched background music.
Among other entries that I've played, I haven't played something similar to this. The puzzle is really creative in this one but a little confusing, took me a while to figure out what is going on before I know it's actually a puzzle game. That is due to the lack of information within the game. Perhaps it could be helpful to some, having a little info at the beginning of the game. It's written on the page itself, however, since it's a downloadable game, it would be great to have the same info in the game as well. All in all, I love it. Well done!
I have never seen this idea before, yet it is executed so brilliantly that everything satisfyingly clicked into place after some experimenting. It made me pull out Notepad and start writing down what each room is and what I could possibly do with it. The visual style is simple but stands out with a cute character and starkly defined objects (though, as I've seen others mention, the bucket was not obvious). I'd love to see this game idea expanded upon! Great work!
The idea of this game is so brilliant and unique! At first, I was totally confused. It really took me a long time to figure it out and I had so much fun doing this! Nice work! The background music is also very good despite the artwork is a little simple. Anyway, this is really a nice work for 48 hours!
Really cool idea, I really liked it. Takes a fair bit of thinking to get your head round this more unique form of puzzle level. As feedback, the bucket art could be a bit clearer. I had no idea what it was the first few times I saw it. Also, as others have pointed out, not saving the level order when you restart is a bit harsh. Really great game, overall.
Playing the game was a very fun experience! Didn't notice that I could pick things up with Z at first though. Pretty cool game overall. Could be expanded into a full release.
Definitely among the best executed puzzle games I've played in the jam. I definitely don't wanna spoil it, but a great tutorial with no tutorial kinda thing. With good ol' jam weirdness thrown in.
Tho the art is a bit iffy, mainly the background, it sorta messes with ya while you're going through the game. Otherwise though, a better "tutorial" or at least more introductions would definitely be nice. Oh, and more or longer puzzles :3
This was a clever idea! It took me getting a paper and pencil and taking notes to finally get it (and a quick check of the controls, I would've been lost if I didn't know how to pick things up). It felt great to sit around and puzzle everything out and put it together! My main criticism would probably be the fact that the level numbers reset every time, I'm not sure if there's an easy way to change that but it makes trial and error considerably harder. Great design, unique concept, I enjoyed it a lot. Good job.
Sorry for not getting a chance to play your game during a stream but I am running out of time and had a hefty amount of games to get through so I am just playing and rating at this point! Thank you for your understanding :D
You're idea is very creative and unique! Some quality of life improvements would really benefit the game though (such as keeping the arrangement of the levels after restarting and faster transitions).
I disliked the color visuals, as they made me confused and dizzy where the foreground and background were. That being said, The music and base platformer physics were alright, although the connection the overall game had to the theme was tenous. Good jam entry regardless :)
