Really cool game representation of an awesome real life concept. Instantly compelling and complex spatial reasoning puzzle.

Would love to see this with a lot more polish, and significantly better simulations for incorrect answers, rather than just seemingly bouncing off for no reason, especially when the first piece would fit fine, and it's only followup pieces that would run into issues.

Hope to see more!

Really cool idea and execution. I didnt get that it needs to shorter alot of the time thogh, so it would have fit, but it was just one to long.

I really like this. It reminds me of a game called Zen Bound 2 (never played 1 :P ) which I would sometimes play to relax. This seems like it would be a great game to relax to as well. The jam version has some technical problems, such as the broken levels, and it could use with more of an in-game tutorial and smoother difficulty curve, but that aside I think this is fantastic. Good job :D

Great concept. I'm not sure if I missed it, but I would be good if you could add a block back in after deleting it.

I love the idea presented for this game. It's simple and brings logical thinking to tackle a challenge. Most puzzle games with this simplicity go about it in 2D, so I like that you went with 3D for this. I do have some issues with the game, however.

The lack of a user interface to reset or to switch to a different level was a bit annoying. I felt like there was a bug where the wood wouldn't fill in the gaps despite it visually looking like it would, seemingly mostly because I missed an area. Having the wood fill in the gaps partially off the bat after you set it up to do so, and only stopping the wood when it hits the other wood would help communicate what the player needs to do. You could use this with your lose condition where you have a limited number of tries (which should also be displayed so the player knows).

Overall, again this game looks really good, especially for your first game. I hope you continue working on it more as it seems like it would be a great app for the google play store.

Fantastic idea for a game! My complaints are that I wish ESC went back to the menu instead of closing the game and when the plank doesn't move into the join when it's not correct it doesn't help for feedback. Sort these things out and this could be a fantastic little chill game!

Cool little system! I would say that some accessability options would benefit the design (visible grids?). Otherwise it's a fun little time waster. There isn't much more to expand with the design, so the only reasonable development is to support the current system and make it more accessable. Well done!

Super orignal, and clicking the planks together is satisfying. I wish I could ESC back to menu instead of directly exiting to desktop :(

Definitely a very unique concept, would be a dream game for aspiring woodwork / designers, game is sleek and focuses on only one mechanic : to join pieces of wood together, and oddly satisfying too when it works.  Great job for your first game jam!

Thank you for your feedback! Just one correction. It is not my first game jam overall, I have done some before but this is my first on itch and the first I did all by my self. Still a mile stone, just not as big as the first one. :)

Very original and interesting puzzle! There are some weak points, like not marking already solved until restart, or some confusing puzzles (like on screenshot) (they are generated, am i right?), but this is really wonderful and smart game!

Yeah, a glitch was found after submitting that is causing that. I tried to fix having floating blocks in the solution, but as a side effect I sometimes accidentally assign loose blocks to sides that aren't in the puzzle causing that. That's also the cause for my warning on the game page for the level select puzzles, but for random puzzles it is just the luck of the draw if the issue comes up or not.

Interesting idea, although I wasn't too good at it XD

This game is so cool! I love the concept, and it's one of the most unique interpretations of the theme I've seen. I must confess, I wasn't able to get very far, I struggled a lot with some of the puzzles. But it's definitely a game I'd want to come back to and keep pushing forward, it's simple and incredible compelling. Great job!

It is 3:30am but I have beaten level 20 and it was very satisfying.

i like the game and the puzzles for it the sound effects were really nice as well

Interesting game mechanics! An indicator where the two pieces will meet would be good, I was stuck in the first level for an awkwardly long time until I figured out that I need to cut away two blocks - for me in the original form it should have fit haha. But really nice, a lot of fun and the more complex levels are amazing when you manage to get them together. Great job!

The game mechanism is awesome. The satisfaction while completing the joints...ooooff. Amazing.

I love the game mechanic. But really, I need a button to restart(or undo) and return to select level(game is closed when pressing esc). All my anxiety came from these inconvenience experiences.

Really nice games, I did levels 1-10 and then jumped to 20, it becomes very hard to keep track... I'd like the camera to be on right click instead of left click, so you don't accidentally break blocks, and it would be nice to have some way to see which piece of wood is actually blocking - it's almost never the first (left) one :p

I saw the Quirks section on your game page, once that's fixed you'll have a nice game :)

(oh and if you could find a japan-themed skybox that's not over-detailed, it would look cool)

This was a really cool take on the theme for cultural learning and just all around enjoyment! I'd love to see this taken farther to a full fledged game!

If you do take this farther, I would love to see the blocks still bonk into each other incorrectly. I know this would take come further exploration though for how to show faulty placements with hidden pockets, perhaps an x-ray or cross-section?

Also some quality of life would be nice, for instance a  "Next Level" button, pressing space to make the blocks close, etc.

I really enjoyed this and hope you keep going until you have a full game!
