Very fun game, i'd love to see how far this concept can go. Great work!

Developer

Awesome, thank you!

(+2)

The idea is good but it's a bit bland, maybe let the player have more impact on the wheel and some feedbacks.
With some adjustment, it should be a nice game to chill !

Developer(+1)

Yeah we did not have enough time to fully balance the gamefeel with player interaction / keeping it random. Thanks for playing and hope you enjoyed it!

I understand, it's so frustrating to not have time to implement what we want !

Submitted(+2)

Cool concept and great execution! The art is also great :D Could be nice with some form of constant damage so battles don't take too long, but that might just be because I added too many heals :P

Developer

It warms my heart to hear that you liked the graphics <3 Yeah we sure could have balanced the game more, such as removing 0 damage tiles and lives.

Submitted(+2)

This is very Dicey Dungeons inspired and I love it! :D The wheel might sometimes be a bit too random, but it's really nice! Died at the last monster though :'( Nonetheless REALLY COOL!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking out our game, we didnt have reactions as awesome as your game but im glad you still liked it ^^! Did you know that we have a second board after you beat the first one :o?

Submitted

Wow really! I wanna see that second board! Back on the grind! ^^

Submitted(+2)

Nice game and original idea! The board management was interesting, and I could see it getting expanded in different ways with more variety of tradeoffs. It might be nice if there was a way to speed up or skip the wheel spin, just to speed up the gameplay. Nice work overall!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed playing! We sure could have speed up the wheel and done some more balancing to speed up the game, agree with you fully that it is a bit slow ^^

Submitted(+2)

Really cool mechanic, reminded me a lot of the board game Dice Forge, which you should check out if you haven't played it. Just wish I had a way to influence the spin a little more, and that maybe I had figured out that red heals and black hurts you before I got destroyed by the campfire :P

Developer

That campfire can be a real pain! Glad you liked the mechanics, I will definelty check out Dice Forge, never heard of it!

Just played luck be a landlord and this reminded me of it! Good take on the genre - if heartbreaking.

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it. Never played Luck be a landlord but I can see the similarities! Hope we did not give you too much heartbreak :)!

Liked the new twist on Dicey Dungeons!

Developer

Dicey Dungeons sure was a big inspiration, glad you liked it!

Very charming! I think it's polished enough you could put this on the app store in it's current state. Being able to customize your wheel is really cool, but it took me a bit to figure out what the different colors did, maybe switching the red to green and black to red would better indicate what they do.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the great feedback!  It does work for mobile, at least the browser version! And yeah the colors could have been better, will think about that in the future :)

Cool game! Reminds me of Dicey Dungeons. Presentation was great. I'd be cool if combat were faster or if there were some way to use strategy in combat. Also, I'm convinced the health bar does not correlate to the remaining health of the enemies. Dealing 1 damage removed more than dealing 3.

Developer

Dicey Dungeons was a big inspiration for both art and gameplay ^^!

Combat could for sure be faster! We didnt realize that battles could take such an insanely amount of time given our limited playtesting time.

The enemies have different amounts of health, so the first one seems like 1 damage does a whole lot more compared to 3 damage on a later one.

Submitted(+2)

I really want to like this, but - be it bad luck or just me being impatient - some of the battles can just take *way* too long, due to both the player & enemy healing constantly.

That said, I really do like that you can *kind of* control where you're going on your wheel, that does give it some extra flavour beyond customizing your wheel that I really liked :)

Developer

Sounds like you had some really bad luck, but thats partly on us for not taking enough time to balance hehe ^^ Glad you liked the wheel mechanics ! :)

This game is super neat. Good presentation, and easily understood combat. The only downside is that beyond customizing the wheel (which is an awesome idea), there isn't much else in the way of strategy. I found myself just waiting for my turn to come and I wasn't sure whether holding to increase the power really did anything in the way of gameplay. Cool idea for sure though, I had fun!

It also would be nice to have a more clear idea of whose turn it is, but that's a nitpick. Maybe a sound cue for when it's the player's turn would be nice.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, a turn indicator would have been really handy. Glad you enjoyed the game, we tried to add in some player agency with letting you decide on the power on the wheel, so that it was just not a button press  ^^

Submitted(+4)

Really like the wheel turn based combat mechanic. Small point of feedback for turn based games is that 0 damage in a turn is super tedious, especially if it is rng. I sat through the second battle for a couple of minutes because every damage I did, the shark could heal back and got super annoyed. No other feedback really, the wheel mechanic is great!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! If only we had some more time for playtesting and balancing we would have probably removed things like zero damage, it can really drag on! Glad you enjoyed the game!

Submitted(+3)

Awesome game concept and implementation..
Thought OK it will be just a random wheel and hit. But the customization makes it interesting..

Developer

We are really happy with the wheel custmization, glad you liked it :)!

Submitted(+3)

Fun! Super clear art and implementation too.

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked the art ^^!

Submitted(+3)

Okay you won me over with this one! Spin the whell AND a turn based RPG? At first I felt like it was just a standard spinner, until i realised i could customize it, bringing in a whole lot of agency that was extremely enticing! I loved the visuals and the polish too! great work!

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked the custimization and the visuals ^^!

It Super well-executed game, I like the fighting concept, good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it ;)!

I like how you added some strategy to a game that relies mostly on luck. Customizing the wheel is a really cool mechanic!

Developer

Thanks, we had a lot of focus on trying to give the player as much agency as possible while keeping it as random as possible.

Glad you liked it :)!

Submitted(+4)

This is really unique, Love it!

Developer

Glad you liked it!

This is a super cool take on a turn based game! I really liked how you made use of multiple mechanics other than damage, like self harm and healing. It really made each wheel feel very unique. One thing to change, maybe have a speed up button because some fights get very long with healing. Overall, this is an amazing entry!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, agree with you fully!

We would have liked a few more hours for balancing but we are still pretty happy with the results ^^!
