most of the time the game is very unfair. i can only repeat what @AtticusFinn said.

Developer

Better RNG is definitely coming! Thank you for playing :D

Super impressive presentation-wise for only 13 hours!

The gameplay itself is fun, but feels completely dependent on luck of what happens to spawn, I feel like I never had to make any actual choices

Developer

Yes, the RNG is pretty unbalanced since I've implemented it in the best way I could've thought of within that 13 hours lol. Glad you had fun playing! :D

Fun game! Like others said, the RNG feels unfair at times. Maybe you could switch things up so that you need to pick up the ingredients in the right order like first beans, then grinder, then water and finally sugar and they only "hurt" you if you pick them in the wrong order, you could still collect them even in the wrong order to make the coffee in order to avoid unfair situations do to randomness and making the coffee can give you health back? Anyway, I really enjoyed the game, well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the suggestion! :D I did work on the RNG recently as I create the post-jam build, and I do still want to keep things as simple as possible since the mechanics are complex enough themselves. This might be something I could look back to if I want to add more challenge to the game though. :D

Fun little game! The only thing i´d add is some music and an interactive tutorial. I hope the feedback helped you, would be nice if you could check out my submission too. :)

Developer

Thank you! This feedback is also on my list after analyzing everyone else's, I really appreciate it. :D I'll check your submission out as you wish!

Coffee's good, great gaem

Developer

Coffee good indeed! >:D

I like it but I will say the randomness of where the objects spawn every time does seem to screw me over a bit. Took me forever to get beans and by the time they were there, I had to hit 2 other items and sacrifice health.

But it's a cool idea and I still enjoyed it. Good job!

Developer

It's one of the major parts of the game that sorta ruins it, but it's fixed in the post-jam build. :D Thank you for playing!

Neat visuals! Would really appreciate it if you rated my game!

Developer(+1)

Will do, thank you for playing mine! :D

Neat game. While it is might be based on 2048, it is different enough to be called its own game. The coffee-and-creme color scheme fits well with the theme, and it is certainly challenging enough to be a puzzle game.

Sadly, I feel the randomness gets in the way a bit too much for me. When I have plenty of health, I am begging for the last piece to drop, so I can complete a combo, but it only drops one kind. When I am on death's door, the boards is so lacking in water, it could legally be called a desert. Because of this, when I get a game over, it feels a bit like the game doomed me, rather than my own decisions.

I would recommend trying to steal a page from Tetris's book, and making the pieces drop from a set list, but in random order (like Bean, Creamer, Sugar, Water, and then Creamer, Water, Sugar, Bean, etc). That way the pieces have an even distribution, so you don't even up with All Beans, but there is no guarantees that you won't have to make risky decisions to continue your combo.

All in all, Great Job!

Developer

Oh wow, that Tetris part enlightened me a lot. Thank you for such a detailed feedback! The RNG should be an easy fix after the jam, as this comment helped a lot. :D

After I got the hang of things, I kept playing to see how far I could get. Kind of addicting!

I felt like my success was kind of luck based, though. If I didn’t get enough water, the board became clogged with other ingredients and I was doomed. Sometimes you can get a lot of one or two ingredients without seeing much of the remaining one. It’s also a bit hard to tell the ingredients apart at a glance because the game is monochrome. These aren’t big issues though. With a few small changes, I think the game would be a lot easier to play!

Developer

Thank you for pointing those out! :D There will be many, many small changes and tweaks as I noticed them ever since I was playtesting this game myself. :D

Simple, but fun idea. The game would benefit, if you add tutorial at the beginning. Anyway, good job :)

Developer

Thank you, tutorials will definitely be one of my priorities now! :D

I like it! Straightforward game concept, easy to grasp and play once I understood the rules. If I have one criticism, it's that I'm not sure how much control the game has over the random spawning of ingredients. After several playthroughs, I found myself periodically ending up in positions that were impossible. Overall a good game, though!

Developer(+1)

Ah, yes! The player does seem to be less powerful because of the unbalanced RNG. Thank you for playing, and for the wonderful feedback! :D

I loved 2048!! Was very excited about the idea of a coffee induced 2048 game and you delivered! This was really cool and the graphics are just absolutely stellar! Beautiful color palette and fun concept! Great job!

Developer

Thank you very much! 2048 really is a stellar game~ >:D

Appealing art, I would have liked to see other recipes to add some complexity and variety :)

Developer(+1)

I love that suggestion! I'll keep it in mind, thank you so much! :D

Other than the at time frustrating RNG it was a fun game, well done!

Developer

It takes great luck to score better on the game lol, hopefully a better RNG is implemented soon after the jam. Thank you! :D

Submitted(+1)

Tutorial can be added at the beginning of the game. But then I saw your explanation in the description :). Congrats for your good work.

Developer

Yes, I did realize it would've been better for the tutorial to pop-up by default as I work on the game. Thank you for playing! :D

Submitted(+1)

The RNG could be tweaked to prioritize items you don't have yet. There were multiple times where most of the screen was filled with cream and sugar, but all I needed was one single bean.

Developer

Indeed, should be a simple fix soon. Thanks for the feedback! :D

Really interesting! The game concept is quite unique and is also fun. And the graphics are awesome as well!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D

Very nice presentation, I like how everything fits the (coffee) theme. As others have said the game is a little random, but very fun to play.

Developer

Coffee was the main point with the art, haha. Thank you! :D

Submitted(+1)

I love the graphics! The rng could use some tweaking, but this is a unique take on the theme!

Developer

Thank you! : D I will definitely take care of the RNG some time.

Submitted(+1)

Cool graphics and interesting reference to the theme :O

Developer

Much appreciated! >:D
