Juicy! Great assortment of abilities - could be expanded into a decent metroidvania. My only critiques are that the grappling hook level also introduced square blocks which made me initially assume only those blocks could be grappled. Plus I ended up stuck in a wall somehow. Great entry overall!

Fun game with good pacing! Loved the polish and animations on the robot. Upgrading to 2-leg movement felt very satisfying.
This was a really nice game! It fit the game super well. I saw the overscoping woes but as a single dev this game has a lot! I really liked all the small details, like the animated faces on checkpoints and the death effects. I really liked the idea of modular robot pieces, going from level to level, and doing everything you can with each component. Either way, great job with all the polishing and production! Cuts are sad but usually the right call!
I'm just goona copy my review from twitter :)
Great metroidvania!
I only wish it has more open-worldish level and better tutorial on hook part. First I thought I can throw a hook only in left-right directions and used wall jump to pass first obstacles. I made it to the part with moving horizontal platforms and only then realized that I can hook up.
Nontheless great job!
Really delightful deconstruction of a Metroidvania/precision platformer. The responsiveness of the grappling move is excellent. The evolving level design as the player picks up parts keeps things interesting. I love the little touches like the frowny face on respawn and the wild happy face when blasting enemies. Really well done!
Smart puzzle platformer with speed running opportunities. I enjoyed how the gameplay changes with each part that is picked up, huge fan of the grappling arm. Ended quite abruptly after the gun but I there's so much content in here for 48 hours!
I enjoyed playing and I hope you give it a post jam update which utilizes shooting with all the previous mechanics :)
Beautiful game! I really like the grappling used in the game! Really cool mechanics joining together to make a full controller character. Really creative congrats!
Great platformer and nice retro visuals. The checkpoints felt extremely satisfying to reach!
The first two sections were probably my favorite in terms of game design. I love how you add new mechanics but took away some freedom of movement that you had previously. I think it would be really cool if the later parts also do that:
- Legs don't let you jump as high but you have regular walking movement.
- The gun auto fires and each time it fires you have recoil so you're forced to either counteract the recoil or use it to your advantage.
One piece of polish feedback is that it would be nice to have some sort of screen transition for when you die and restart from a checkpoint. Right now objects just despawn and respawn and it feels a bit jarring.
Amazing level design as usual and an ungodly amount of mechanics for 48 hours. How do you do this? One thing that would be cool to check if other, the swinging. I felt like swinging as soon I got the hook. Maybe I'm alone on this one. Professional entry, I'll be following you closer!
Thanks for your feedback!!! Probably too many mechanics for 48 hours, I think it hurt the level design, I had to cut stuff (I wanted some more shooty levels).
A swing mechanic could be cool. The idea of Mod-O-Bot is that his parts would be modular, so each limb could be switched out and reconfigured.
I didn't get to fully realize the idea for the jam (I wanted to revert back to ball mode and then build him up again in a different order, like grapple first, then shoot, then legs, or something like that).
So if we add a swing, we could have one arm swing, and 1 arm grapple, then have swingy grapple areas! I also had ideas for wheels for feet, rockets for feet, arms that can pick stuff up, grab and throw enemies, different gun arms, etc
Great little game! I liked how the game play constantly evolves as you get new pieces. Great presentation too, very smooth and well executed.
I found the colour palette maybe a bit too strong for me, particularly the electricity that changes colour (especially when spread across the entire screen).
Well done overall!
Really great artstyle, the sounds are awesome, and the mechanic is fun.
I can't believe you made this in two days. Two days. You are amazing. I love this artstyle sfx gameplay everything lol
