Really nice game, just very hard for me :)
Thank you! I put a walkthrough for anybody who's stuck :)
epic game bit weird tho
lol
The setting made me uncomfortable, but I liked that you had a cutscene at the start that was pretty cool.
This game is incredibly hard and it definitely brings me back to the days of playing old flash games on the schools computers. Also creative use of the theme if not a bit morbid lol. Overall weird game but well made game and I personally like it.
Thanks a lot! I agree that the theme is morbid but I like making weird things soo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This game is incredibly difficult! But where there are challenges, there are challengers. It would definitely deserve the title of FlappyBird of platformers. Even though hard, I enjoyed every minute of it.
I loved the story and graphics, they reminded me of the good old flash games. The level design was well balanced I believe. Even though the difficulty was there, I didn't feel discouraged, and I managed to get thorough. This type of balance is hard to obtain.
The ending is terribly sad though, but I applaud it.
Thank you so much P3u! I didn't plan for the game to be this difficult since the only playtester was myself, so I put out a walkthrough. I had a plan from the start that a little introductory cutscene would be there, just like Super Meat Boy has one, and I feel that a short little premise is the cherry on top for any sort of jam game. As for the ending, I love stories with endings that have an emotional twist of some sort, and this was my way of doing that :)
The given setting is a bit weird for my taste. But it's a fairly simple concept and a good implementation of that. I was a bit confused by the controls but you get used to it.
Good job for a jam game!
Thanks a lot!
The swinging mechanic was certainly interesting, and the setting is suitably macabre. It was pretty difficult though, especially level 4?
Thanks for submitting!
Yep, the setting being a bit morbid was intentional lol, the game is difficult which was not what I planned so I made a walkthrough for anybody who's stuck. Thank you!
For some reason reminds me of Teeworlds. There were maps were you had to use grappling hook and this game sorta represents the physics of that mechanic. E.g. you can accend up by jumping on your twin.
Anyway, great physics, gave me nostalgia.
Thank you :)
Nice game, the physics can be a little odd at times, and it can get quite hard because of that
Yep, the game is way too hard than I intended it to be, mainly because of the wonky physics.
Unique and seriously dynamic. Thank you!
Cool game! the art style reminds me of flash games for some reason. The game was a bit hard, but i managed to finish it. It took me a while to get hang of the controls though. I also think that the game could've had more feedback. Sometimes, i wouldn't know if i was controlling the boy or the girl. Maybe an indicator other than their eyes could help. Also took me some time that i could only extend and contract when i was controlling the girl. Other than that, i had a fun time. Good job making this in only 48 hours!
Thank you so much! I think the art style reminds you of flash games because of how low quality it is but nevertheless. I think if this wasn't a game jam I would've gone with my original idea which is have the indicator be an animation of one of the girl sleeping but I could only manage a sprite change. I mentioned in the controls that you could only extend when you're controlling the girl, but I should've made it clearer.
I really like this game! It's a little janky, but that's to be expected for a games jam. I don't think I've seen any similar platformers with all the features on show here. It super-fits the theme, and plays way better than I was expecting. Well done!

Thanks so much for the great feedback! I find it amusing that you liked the death sfx, since I quickly butchered that in OBS lol. The cutscene not playing in the web is something I'm really annoyed about, and it's just something I discovered when I was uploading the game so I couldn't do much about it. This is also my first game jam game and the first one I made fully on my own.
P.S: I'm stealing your format for reviewing games :P
Weeeird. But fun! Took me a longer than I'd care to admit to figure out that the skin could act as a solid separator. In games where you drag something along, it usually feels like a hinderance, but not in this one, which is nice!
Thank you! I think I lucked out on that part that the spring joints between them were smooth which helped make the movement feel tight.
While I think the controls do make sense and so do the physics in a way, I think the game is very frustrating to control at times in that you can get thrown around a lot and the uncontrolled twin can do all sorts of weird things to you.
The two twins doing different things is a cool concept though and something worth building upon!
Will build upon it after the jam :)
The controls should be a bit clearer and i got stuck in the 3rd level, i was on the exit door but nothing happened, but overall it's a nice concept, with good music, clever level design, and i liked it. Good job!
Thanks a lot! This is the first game that I made completely on my own and it shows haha. I hastily added the controls screen so most of the essential ones are missing ( check desc). The game has 5 more levels and that weird bug should be fixed if you restart or play the windows version :)
theme was quite morbid but good game
Thank you! I intended to be ;)
Was a lot of fun and a cool concept behind it. The green platform caused me some small amount of frustration but it worked out good in the end :)
I played it on the WebGL version since it worked quite nice there as well, only downside were some walls to the left and right not showing, but that's if I guessed only a Webgl thing
Anyway, great game! Loved it
Thank you so much for the feedback! The WebGL game has some missing features as you found out, and you missed out on a cutscene that's only in the Windows version ;)
As a platformer, the controls and the feeling of controling these babies felt fine. Dragging the other counterpart around didn't greatly hamper the feeling of movement, instead adding to it when they're swinging with you.
For the Q/E skin growth/shrinkage mechanic, I would suggest to make it a hold down control rather than an on press control - pressing either once doesn't feel like anything's happening, since there's no instant feedback.
I think it's also rather important to have an indicator of when each twin can interact with the world - something like a climbing animation state for the boy and the skin being outlined as the girl. Shift as a swapper would better be replaced with space or f - something closer.
A bit of a morbid theme... the needle balls and the death sounds definitely were a little... off. I enjoyed it overall. I ended up throwing in the towel at the first level with a pill - I couldn't bear to die one more time.
I agree with you about the change to the skin stretching mechanic, I debated about changing it but I didn't feel like it was needed at the time and I needed to deal with the graphics aspect of the game.
I didn't consider much the placement of the key but, yeah, F would have been a good replacement. I'm used to the shift key and that's why I used it. Fun fact, the baby sprites were made as placeholder art using a mouse and photoshop, so that should give you an idea why I didn't add animations; they weren't on my list of stuff to add in the game, tight controls and decent level design were my main goal.
The morbid theme was intentional as the whole conjoined twin skin stretching is too, the sfx were also hastily made and I wanted to change them, but didn't have the time. The needles were also drawn in the same way the babies were.
Thanks so much for taking the time to play and review MY game! In retrospect the game is wayy more difficult than I intended it to be, I'll publish a walkthrough later if you're still interested :D
Fun game, Q and E doesn't seem to work tho?
You have to switch to the girl first. I put all the controls I forgot in the install instructions
very boggers
