How does your game fit the theme?
The player controls a car has. a chained mace attached to it. By turning left and right, the mace build momentum and it can be yeeted at enemies. The player can "unlink" the chain and throw the mace. The player must fetch the mace, by coming close to it. The mace snaps back in place.

oh man, this is VERY fun and I am a sucker for anything car based! Slightly hard to control with wasd but once you get the hang of it, the combos are very satisfying. Good job on including the ball coming to you automatically when youre near it if you have lost it somehow.
Though, would be interesting to explore using mouse controls to move the car in the future!
The game is so fun to play! The high speed of the vehicle together with the background music makes this game so exciting. However, the controls are a little difficult for me and I'm not quite good at this kind of game. I've tried a few times and my best score was around 3000 :D
The driving and the swinging feels great, and the game's quite fun! The camera is always lagging slightly behind the player, which means it's hard to see where the car's headed; in particular if you're going straight towards an enemy.
Thanks for playing and commenting! And great advice for the camera! I wlll definitely amend this in a future release!
Very very good, I really enjoyed how nice the mace felt while i was driving around. I didn't really get much use out of the actual drifting button but it was still very cool! My highest score I got was a solid 2000.
Good job on the game!
Awesome! I am glad you enjoyed this small game! Drifting and throwing the mace are completely optional, but it may cater to certain situations or playing styles. I wanted to give players a sense of freedom and expression while playing this game. Some may have fun escaping some situations using drifting, or some may fix a "missed" swing with throwing the mace immediately. Still, I am super glad that you found your style and that it was a pleasant and fun experience :-)
Fun game! I really like the core mechanic and yeeting the mace feels very satisfying. My only gripe is not being able to see far enough ahead of you (especially when moving towards the top/bottom edges of the screen). Perhaps positioning the camera a little bit further ahead of the player would be helpful. Great work with this!
Hey SzechuanSteve! Thanks for playing and for your kind comment! I am so glad you enjoyed playing, and I am happy to get your more than interesting feedback. I already have a list of improvements and I will definitely add the camera work to it! Thanks a lot!
This isn't the first game I've played this jam with the "move another thing around to attack" idea, but I think this might be the best implementation of it that I've seen so far. I am still not a fan of having "turning" buttons in the game where the camera doesn't follow the orientation of the vehicle, but since a lot of the game has you turning in a single direction to build up the mace's speed, it works better here than in other places. One thing I would like to see is some sort of health system. The screen gets kinda crowded quickly, and it would be nice to have that little bit of buffer for new players to experience more of the game.
great take on a chaotic version of the theme, well done
cool idea, but it is a little hard for my taste
Pure chaos :D
I had fun, but I was really bad at it. I do think the controls were a bit to blame (maybe screen up-down-left-right would have been more intuitive than forward/back/turn at this scale), but I also think it’s just a game that demands you develop a level of skill.
I have no idea how you got 4500, for me it was very difficult to control the car and the mace, but it was very satisfying when I finally was killing some enemies. Skill ceiling is definitely very high here, so there's always a room for improvement for the player! Well done!
This was super fun, but also really difficult. I think that mostly came down to the controls. I would have liked a more intuitive way to control the car than with tank controls, maybe, but in fairness I couldn't tell you what that might be. When I managed to hit the enemies though it felt incredibly satisfying, and being able to release the mace really took the gameplay above and beyond my expectations. I almost want to see this with hordes of zombies or some other small enemy where maybe hitting them with the car just slows you down. Great work!
The physics mechanics seem a bit too haphazard in this, I think understanding what the front and the back of the car is would help with this a little as well. I would have appreciated more background to the game as well rather than "car with a weapon attached" (ex; why is the car battling, what are they facing against, etc etc), but the concept was interesting and well executed. Surprisingly fun and deceptively difficult
Interesting concept and nice fast paced gameplay. I think its quite difficult to control the mace at points, and hard to feel like you're really 'in control', but it gets easier and is satisfying to smash into the shapes when you time a turn perfectly! Good job
Great concept and it's really fun to play. A good example of easy to understand, hard to master!
A few caveats, it would be easier to find the mace if there was an indication of the direction it is in when it is not on the screen.
Otherwise, a promising game!
Hello Foxtrot-Roger! Thanks for playing and liking the game! I completely agree with your suggestion. I've tried to implement it, but I was having a hard time doing it in Unity, considering the lack of time. I decided to abandon it for the gamejam, and since the map is small I though I'd get away with it lol :-). Surely I will implement it on the next release. Cheers!
One of the funniest game of the Jam! Sooo addictive! The car and the mace are a bit hard to control thought, I hit target more by chance than by skills. I manage to get 1350 points, I don't feel that's really good but that needed a lot of attempt! 😂
Hitting things with the mace was SO satisfying.
Reading comments like yours is SO satisfying!
Pretty great idea going on here! The control placement was a little bit awkward (i find arrow keys awkward in general, and left ctrl really threw me for a loop), but it was pretty quick to get used to, and didn't affect the gameplay at all! I really appreciated how large the radius to reattach to the ball was, I'm not good at controlling my vehicle in these kinds of games, so that was a huge relief! I found it a little tough to hit enemies consistently, unless i was spinning in a circle, but again, I'm bad with this type of game, so it could partially be my skill level.
Overall, really good submission, great job!
Hello TeamDoubleDuck! Thanks so much for your kind feedback! I am an oldschool gamer, for me it felt natural to use arrow keys, but I noticed during the jam, that people usually prefer WASD. What controls would you have used exactly for this game?
Definitely WASD lol. Ctr and space would have been perfect for wasd as well. Including both i think is the best way to go about it, i usually do that (i forgot to for this jam though)
Great concept. Liking the game feel and rope physics. Hitting enemies and just moving around the arena is fun and feels great. Throwing the mace is satisfying, but it's hard to aim so I didn't use it much.
genuinely fun game, I like the idea of the throwing the mace but it feels a little too punishing to be useful. visuals were basic but easy to understand
Challenging game! I included it in my GMTK compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
