RNGesus take the wheel. Really good concept! I was a bit confused at firt, thinking it was my job to feed the stupid blind snake, but then I read the description - but both the actual game, and the game I made up by accident, were fun takes!
Haha I'm happy to hear you got a two for one deal :D "feed the stupid blind snake" really cracked me up :D
great, fun little game, well done, can you also play my game so i can get feedbacks please!!
Thank you! And of course :)
Fun concept! I learned that I do not have the mental ability to control so many pieces at once lol!
I would love to have some kind of "incoming!" signal for where the next pieces would spawn, as then I could make some attempt to purposely stack them or something; but I also understand that that would make the game play out pretty differently.
Good luck in the jam!
Thank you for playing and for the great feedback! An "incoming" signal was definitely part of the plan, I just ran out of time. The slow falling down and the sound was all I could do in the time I had. Definitely a good idea :)
A simple idea well implemented.
And it's not easy!! I played for a while until I could win!
Thanks! I agree it's very challenging, I could win either 😬
Not the first reverse snake that I played, but this is by far the best one I played. Very original and unique twist on the snake formula. Adding a bit of "juice" would make it even better. Cheers!!!
Thank you very much, I'm happy to hear that!
Cool game idea.
Good choice on the colour palette. Made for a nice and clean art style. Aesthetic in general is rather pleasent.
Overall, a high quality, simple Jam game. Good job!
Thank you very much! :)
Fun game! Also, congrats on being a Jam Dad!
Hehe thanks, the jam definitely hits different :D
it was fun but tough XD I tried to meta game by using both WASD and arrows at the same time, but the cost of that is higher fall off risk XD when I got to 8 foods, I thought the best strategy was stand still and pray for RNG. So one small piece of feedback is to make the snake AI a bit less random, but well done all the same!
If you can find the time, would you please check out our game as well?
Our twist of the theme is that a critic tries to play your unfinished game, and you fight from inside the computer to make him like it. Hope you'll like it!
Haha I didn't even know that's possible :D Thank you for the great feedback and of course :)
It is a really tough game… Great and very creative work!
Thanks! :)
spent way too long trying to win lol, kept getting to 9 and losing one over the edge. Great work!
Haha, I had the exact same experience :D Thanks for playing!
Very nice game! The art is simple, but very clean, I really like it!
Thanks! I wanted to make some models but ran out of time. Glad it's still nice enough too look at for a jam game :)
Cool game! At first, I've thought it was impossible to win, but somehow i actually did!
Congrats! :D I still think it's impossible, but you guys are wining somehow :D
Nice presentation and fun to play!
Thanks! :)
The optimal strategy seems to be keeping all food clustered, and it is quite hilarious to watch a group of food running full speed to catch the pieces falling from the sky before they have landed too far.
Definitely seem so after so many people playing it :D Haha I can imagine, if only I had time to do some wonky animated models :D
yay i won :) cool idea would love to see more
Congrats! So many people wining but I still can't haha.
This is great fun! I didn't realise until I died that the snake ate any food that touched it, not just at the head. It got really tense as it went on and my collection and the snake grew.
My cheese strat was to try to gather all the food together and drop any that were too far away, but it was still very challenging, I love it
Yeah, the snake got more power because it's sad the food runs away from her :D
Amazing job on wining, I haven't managed to beat it haha
Crazy that you managed to make 2 games in one jam (would love to see the baby simulator)
The game is simple but fun enough, good job :-)
Haha it is. I'll make a YouTube video about it sometime next month, so you can check that out and see the baby in diapers :D Thanks!
Cool game. I also did a reverse-snake style game, so clearly great minds think alike, eh? :)
There should probably be a penalty for letting food fall off the board. I managed to win on my first try by trying to keep a cluster of food bunched together, and intentionally pushing food that fell far away off the board so the snake couldn't get them.
It'd also be nice if the snake tried to move towards your food instead of randomly.
I like the 3d graphics and it's cool how the food can actually 'bounce' and get stuck in weird ways if it falls on top of other food, for instance. Nice job!
Haha clearly!
Thanks and great suggestions! I never though about penalizing the food falling off board more than just reducing "active food" score, so that would be a nice twist. As for the snake moving towards the food I changed it because I felt the game was too difficult then.
Honestly I haven't managed to win yet so I already gambled with making the game too hard haha, so congrats on wining on the first try, I'm speechless :D
A difficult but interesting design that adds another way of reversing the hungry snake game.
Thanks, I'm looking forward to seeing how other approached it :)
Very Fun and Simple.
Thanks! :)
