really love the concept and the art is super nice, good work replicating the old pokemon art style

Love the concept! I like the way you put arrows on those tamers. This adds the prediction and strategy to the game and is fun to play. Moving the grassmon is also very satisfying. Nice work!

Very fun to try and play the game as fast as possible. I am not sure why I can select tiles with my mouse, but it doesn't impact the gameplay in any way. The comments are funny and the game is fun, good job!

Really liked the game! I'm always down for more Pokemon-themed games ^^ The art first the game really well and the music is great! It was a little hard at fits, but after finally realizing that the trainers have arrows on their clothes that mark in which direction they are going to move, the game became much better (I guess that's what you get for not reading the entire description ^^;). Great job!

That was a great game! I loved the twist of playing as the monster trying to keep it's freedom, that's a very interesting twist! Love myself some monster taming games. My only complaint is that I feel that the tamers move in completely random directions, if they had some logic to follow the monster it would feel much more like a puzzle game!

Anyways, congratulations on the game. It was awesome!

Cool take on the theme! It made for an interesting strategy game and I was always trying to maximize my safety by going as far away from the trainer- er, I mean, tamers, as possible. Very good and complete entry for a solo-dev!

Without the time constraint I would totally see this grow more with animations showing short transitions between turns :) Great job!

Super cool use of the theme XD

Simple yet effective.  I like how at first you just rush through things but then at the end of each day your forced to really slow down and think things through lol.  I tried to be cheeky and sit in a corner pushing into the wall until I realized the enemies were moving but it wasnt counting towards my score.  Great aesthetic and well polished.  Nicely done!

simple to get the hang of but gets surprisingly challenging!! at first i could get by pretty easily by just running in a square, but as trainer count increased I had to start thinking about my moves more.  the presentation is lovely!!  i love the subtle effect on the edges of the screen

(sidenote: AYYYY LETS GOO ANOTHER POKEMON THEMED GAME)

hilarious idea and well executed!

Simple, fun, challenging, and looks great.

I love the combination of pixel art and the subtle animation.

Top-notch theme implementation, that's what the author intended. Great!

Usually with every GMTK game jam there will always be a standout game where I feel the idea is so simple, yet it turned out incredibly fun, and currently this is that game for this jam for me! Seeing as you mentioned that this is not the full vision for your game, I can't wait to see what more you add to it!

The concept is one of the most interesting i saw on the jam! Gameplay needs a bit improvement, but that could become a really nice game!
What if the little monster, when touched by the trainer, has to fight and manage his hp and moves?

the pixel art looks very good. The music was choosen very good. :D

I've always wondered what it's like to be a Rattata

I love the idea of being the lowest-rank mob in a pokemon-type world! Really strong take on the theme! I think if it had a few more mechanics to fill-out the gameplay, like having to fight/flee when you do run into someone, or something, it'd flesh out the gameplay nicely.   I was like 5 moves from finishing level 5 -- super fun, and good job overall!

Super simple but fun! Was kinda expecting an RPG style battle but totally loved what you made instead!

Fits the theme well, easy to learn and quick to play. Cute and simple art. I liked the whole thing. :)

The game is very creative! The idea and the way it was implemented was a lot of fun to me! The pixel art looks very good and the colour palette used too. You did a great job!

Short and sweet! The arrows to indicate direction are a nice touch, allowing for planning several turns ahead to try and keep myself as far from groups of trainers as I could.

The pixel art is lovely, especially the trainer sprite, and I really like the hud design - you've done a great job at giving the impression of a classic pokemon game :)
